Ever since we found out that the new Song of Flame super gave you near infinite grenade ability regeneration for the length of its duration I had a thought that it might enable older rotations to resurface, specifically the really old Demo Rocket Starfire Protocol rotation. Back in the day, pre-nerf Starfire enabled crazy regeneration of your Fusion Grenades if you used Witherhoard for the constant tick damage, though as we all know this meta has long since passed, but as you’ll see today, not only can you do this once again with Song of Flame, new contenders can also be weaved into the rotation like Still Hunt to pad your overall total damage by even more. Not to mention, the Ignitions caused by the Phoenix Grenades cause most bosses to stagger constantly, letting you control any bosses with erratic movement such as the Herald of Finality. Honestly special weapon ammo conversion is super good so you don't even need to use a primary, you can just be on the call for pre dps and switch to mt during

with regards to Bait n Switch vs Explosive light, although the difference is only 5%, wolfpack rounds are NOT buffed by EL but they ARE buffed by Bait n Switch. The rocket damage discrepancy between the two perks is a little bigger than you might believe just by looking at the numbers
Yes, but since very few rockets are typically fired by the other players during DPS on the witness, handicapping another player to the Gjallahorn is an overall DPS loss for the group.
The first BnS rocket is not buffed at all. You have to shoot your other weapon which takes time. So bottom line it's probably still very close.
@@masterjim666 while it is not buffed visually, the actual damage is. number/wipe screen damage does not always match the actual damage done to a boss health bar

Grave Robber was buffed to be the same as Demo wrt reloads, and might have a different internal cooldown. Celestial fire can be used in Song to hit targets like the Witness as well.
Grenades use 6% of your super in Song, and have a longer animation. Melees use 3% of your super in Song, resulting in a longer super with more weapon damage uptime, and removing the requirement of ApoVeil for finishing the rotation.
StarEaters+Claws on the class item does give you 2 melees in your super as well, which chunk much harder. Claws will change the rotation significantly tho, depending on GraveRobber's ICD.
The caveat - the only heavy weapon with GraveRobber worth considering is going to be Crowning Duologue, coming with the Solstice soon. It will most probably outclass the Demo rotation for weapon uptime, but being a worse archetype than Apex, might have lower total damage for a higher dps.

Not really new, acrius has had its metas since D1 launch. Always been strong at close range.
@@Alckee6904 its more a viable option now with the fragments and warlock bond allowing for frontloaded and sustained dmg, its 3x stronger than it was this past year whenever people would whip it out for WR first boss
@Alckee6904 Definitely new compared to old Acrius rotations.
On Prismatic, throw down a stasis turret (for darkness debuff and shatters), then pop prismatic for a weaken and freeze nade, then pop song of flame and snap + Acrius x3 on repeat until the super ends. Ignitions from snap do big damage due to darkness debuffs. Shatters do additional damage. Acrius auto reloads due to freeze. Acrius does big DPS by itself too. Song of flame gives DR so safe to get up close.
This takes Acrius to a whole new level to old rotations. Arguably the best up close rotation in the game.

@@PpTheGreatest the turret and auto reload aren’t needed, the shatter damage is a small bonus but I think hellion would net you more damage. You can darkness debuff from solitude or arcane needle. The big DPS comes from the huge chunk damage star eaters song of flame snaps do and just shoot/reload acrius in between snaps. It’s also great rotation for a tractor player, just use a one two punch legendary aggressive shotgun.
Its always great to see people pushing alternative DPS rotations, the more options the better. Seeing Mountaintop in the video we all know how good mountaintop can be but ive been pretty interested in Wildstyle's Trait refresh and any potential combinations it could be used in.
It's really good in place of wilderflight for izi rocket rotations

prismatic will definitely be better for this, even with the slightly slower recharge rate. Your super damage gets boosted my star-eater and facet of courage (unravel with arcane needle before popping super). Use jolting storm nades and toss one before popping super to get even more damage from jolt. Facet of dawn will let you carry radiant after the super ends for more damage aswell.

If you use bump in the night with chill clip and demo you can do this and have chill clip reload with facet of command on prismatic

This rotation with rain of fire is peak DPS. You can shoot the rocket at almost full speed for the entire mag, and have bns for the entire mag dump. However if you are combining it with a still hunt rotation to never have to reload then explosive light is better cause you don't have to shoot your third weapon (which you aren't doing here???)
Rotation: (I'll try this out myself maybe, but either you or chicken sie are gonna be in a race to upload it)
Still hunt Goldie x3, normal x3, rocket grenade rocket dash, still hunt x3, pop still hunt Goldie and super to animation cancel, then Goldie x3, rocket grenade rocket dash rocket grenade, still hunt x6, rocket grenade rocket dash still hunt Goldie x3 still hunt x3 rocket grenade dash still hunt x3 Goldie x3. This should work in your average 30second DPS phase. I think that's out of ammo there for both, you always could pair it with a demo vorpal/frenzy mountaintop and do Mntp grenade Mntp dash Mntp grenade Mntp dash for the rest of the DPS phase of on apotheosis.
Literally the goat. I appreciate these builds that aren’t just “do the new raid for this!”. I wanted to farm artifice armor in master grasp but I’m so out of the loop.
On the grenade cooldown on Prismatic:
It's probably because of the base cooldown of your grenade. Because you're normally using Fusion Grenades which have a really low base cooldown (1min13secs), they come up much faster during the super on Solar. I'm yet to test this, but if you pick the grenade on Prismatic with the lowest cooldown, the moth grenade will probably come back pretty fast during the super as well.
Unfortunately, the lowest cooldown grenade on Prismatic is Healing Grenade (1min31secs) which still has a longer cooldown and does no damage, so it interferes with the damage of the Apotheosis Veil part of the rotation.
You could also pop Transcendence before your super, and then dealing damage with your melee will increase your grenade recharge rate as well. It would mess with the rotation a little, but it's not like the Song of Flame melee does bad damage anyway.
I'm sure there is a method for Prismatic to do more damage here, but it needs a lot more testing. Storm or Threadling Grenade (2min1sec) just have dramatically higher cooldowns than Fusion so it'll take a bit more work on getting a well timed rotation.
with prismatic you could unravel with melee and weaken with grenade, before using your super, that could help a bit, but void nade has hella long cooldown
I'm gonna try Inmost Light with Prismatic. And if we could make Vortex work we could debuff as well.
another reason is possibly the fact that song of flame grants radiant to allies and in the testing ember of benevolence is active boosting regen of his grenade
Song of flame melee range is too short to hit the witness so you won’t get getting more grenade regen from it during his fight at least
Can you do some damage tests with bipod? Demo bipod will reload 2 per grenade which could provide similar dps and has more total damage despite the reduced damage per rocket. Bipod also has the benefit of gaining more ammo per brick when refilling ammo after a dps phase.

That one vanguard double shot gl got some good perk reworks too, so it would look good here and you’d be able to run a good primary for ad clear

Ive also noticed arcane needle has a longer cool down on prismatic than it does on the base strand subclass. Idk if its a balancing thing or what but i greatly dislike it
Yeah, I have no idea why it has the longest cooldown across the melees on Prismatic but it really messes with my builds.

you can double dip with witherhoard to squeeze out extra dmg by landing a direct hit and then shooting the floor to create a pool instead of landing back to back direct hits
B&S will still be better imo when gally is available, just make one of the titan run it, they aren't doing that much anyway lol.
Right, the trick is that a lot of people aren't stacking rockets on Salvation's Edge's bosses, so that Titan is probably better off doing some stronger rotation for themselves than giving a buff to a relatively small part of your total damage--but you are correct in a different sense, because BnS buffs Wolfpack Rounds and Explosive Light doesn't, so the difference between the perks becomes much sharper.
Ive been using this combo since getting song of flame because I missed the old demo rocket spam on starfire. I've been wondering how much damage song of flame could add to the whole fireteam if everyone is using solar weapons
Because throwing a grenade uses up super energy, I think you could get through everything without apotheosis if you didn’t throw extra grenades that aren’t proccing demo. It made sense for starfire, but less so for song of flame.
True i guess but there really is no point in not running apotheosis ?
Dont think there are any options to increase your damage further, but im not an expert in warlocks so correct me if im wrong…

I wonder, with song of flame active, is it better to just use a melee (assuming youre in range) instead of swapping to a different weapon to shoot which demo is on cooldown?
I tried zero hour last night and we are so much weaker now, it was taking so much to kill the tanks. A dragons breath shot only takes like a 1/4 or slightly more of their health.
So I got the bond with this helemts perk but it doesn't seem to be working for me And demo rocket isn't working for me on song of flame supers grenade? Am I doing something wrong? (I tested this in the enclave range, not sure if that matters.)

could you possibly look at cloudstrike swapping with an arc rocket/gl. i used it on titan and was able to do 6 mill in 2 phases on witness with only one twilight arsenal and a few arc grenades. cloudstrike is also very ammo efficient with triple tap and allows you to keep dumping after youve used all 9 rockets. (the rocket i used was hothead with auto loading and explosive light)
It's pretty reasonable; last week I saw a video of a trio warlock Witness kill that used cloudstrike for DPS (arc surge was still a thing), where the heavy ammo gun was ALH/Cascade Wendigo. Basically every time they ran out their Cloudstrike mags they'd reload cancel by swapping to Wendigo and dumping it.

re Prismatic: Grenade cooldown should be better with Starfire or Inmost Light? And might as well throw an occasional melee in there.. I'm gonna try it. Got a class item with both.
But you're right oldschool solar looks very good, and we can play proper medic as well.
How good is the damage with Dragonbreth?
Might be interesting to see if dps/total dmg are incresed if using transmatic + class item with apo+star eater (70% dmg buff to gre and melee) + (needle melee or stasis tourelle + items that make light competences do more damage to targets having a darkness "debuff"). IE: go prismatic, lauch stasis/ void gre then super with the same rotation. Might also be good to have void heavy to get bonus dmg with void debuf.... a lot of things to try ;)
But you're using heavy+super for dps, so there's a trade off depending on the boss dmg/phases. Long boss dps like prophecy it might better better to use the super and the heavy tomax the damage. A lot of EGO tools to play with ;)

I think if u can get the star eater apotheosis class item, running prismatic with something like threadling or storm nades is probably worth it.
For anyone wondering why Devour wont proc from Poison kills, is because the Poison is killing it instead of the actual melee Ability. It will not proc Devour. Poison is not an a ability & its Kinetic damage. But if the actual Needle kills it upon the initial impact (aka Tangle spawn), it will proc Devour.
Will the double fire gl from nightfalls with way better perks change the loadout and setup due to having the ability to match surges?
Potentially yes, will have to wait until we can get our hands on it.
Hey Llama I've uploaded myself doing damn near 5 million to the Grasp Ogre using Legend of Acrius and Song of Flame solo. I bet if you tried it you could hit 5 million. Though what you show here is definitely the better option for ranged bosses

you can go even further and play prismatic and then add solipsism with star eater apotheosis and you really can cook you start the whole thing in transcendence then pop your super but start the rotation with your first transcendence grenade and then youre gonna wanna add in your arcane needle to debuff the target with darkness to proc your fragment that buffs light damage which will further increase dps
Doesn't work on the witness. Arcane needle tracks to immune spots. Also, the grenade to follow the end of the super is worse than touch of flame fusion grenades, and this difference is not made up for by the star eater grenades from Song of Flame.

My question is how do I even find a group like yours and the other top players like Aegis or Tizzle? I've been trying for years going from group to group and it feels impossible. I've pushed myself to the limit and want nothing more than to find people with similar and hopefully better skill than me so that I can keep getting better. I feel like nothing in this game is challenging anymore but I can't find people like you guys who feel the same. I don't want to just be a viewer who tags along, I want to genuinely be a part of a good group like yours because I can hold my own and know that I could be getting even better with the right team pushing me.
Sorry to hear that dude, my advice would be try joining an active clan and making friends that way, or perhaps convincing some of your IRL friends to join! There's never been a better time to start playing Destiny than now!

Just depends on how many you shoot, longer dps phases would make vorpal more useful
Assuming max recombination stacks, the breakpoint at which Vorpal becomes better is seven shots. (Think of it as one boost of 100% versus seven boosts of 15%, which is 105% of a shot in total.)

Why do you do a manual reload instead of throwing another grenade?

Yeah demo has a cooldown but I try to do a power melee instead reloading manually and after that trow a granade to reload and it is better and stun the boss with ignition

if someone one your team is using gally then every two rockets will cause an ignition too for even more damage

Got anything for Hazardous Propulsion? Feels like it's thiiiiis close to being the solution Titan players need, but all the labbing has gone to Still Hunt and to Warlocks as far as I know. If there were just a better way to spam Thruster...
Having thought about it over the past half hour, here's a rough draft:
Prismatic w/Hazardous Propulsion
any kinetic + Cloudstrike (or really any 140 sniper) + Hothead (Demo/EL)
grenade of choice + shield throw + thruster + probably twilight arsenal for super
fragments: hope for class ability regen, dawn+purpose for uptime on elemental buffs for hope
get max Hazardous stacks and Transcendence energy during mechanics
Shield Throw -> Thruster -> rocket -> nade -> rocket -> transcend -> (maybe mtop shot or something if demo timing is a problem) -> shield throw -> nade -> rocket -> super -> nade ->
at this point rocket buff is probably over, so 9x Cloudstrike to refill Hazardous ->
thruster is probably up by now? if not keep cloudstriking, maybe keep cycling melees and nades ->
shield throw -> thruster -> rocket -> nade -> rocket -> manual reload, dump rest of rockets -> dump rest of cloudstrike if it's still DPS somehow

There's probably also Reconstruction variants, or even Izi/ALH if you could get it fast enough to dump four rockets in the ten-second window (probably not practical with regular ALH considering rocket handling, but maybe enhanced?). Or Slideshot Crux if you're feeling spicy.
In a world where you can get the Thruster cooldown low enough, I could even see something like thruster -> two recon rockets -> manual reload -> 3x sniper-> two recon rockets -> manual reload -> 3x sniper -> repeat. I just don't see a way to make that happen right now.
Will keep this in mind for when I test titan stuff!
Why wouldn’t you throw in melees? Especially when a manual reload would often happen. Those melees are a huge part of the super damage and you’d have more ammo at the end of it
Using melee means less grenades. Melee uses the super quite more.
You get a DPS loss by wasting time with melees.
I don't "have" a warlock and hunter, what is good dps using titan haha.

I was able to get about 3.3 on average with song of flame/witherhoard/bns apex predator (probably could've gotten better with explosive light but don't have one), but with nova bomb it was wayyyy better. On average AT LEAST 4mil damage. Nova goes out a lot faster for such a crazy amount of damage, it gives you time to take full advantage of the apotheosis buff. The trick is to not pop transcendence until after your apotheosis buff gone since you don't need the bonus grenade regen until after.

Why not use Bipod + Demo? You don't have to swap to a special GL at all.
This is specifically a dps build, if you put bipod on it will drop your dmg per rocket by 25%. So compared to explosive light it's doing 50% less dmg per rocket which is a lot of dmg loss. Bipod is good for bursting down Champs and stuff but not straight dps, unfortunately
@@gormleypeach5809 I get that the rockets do less damage but you're still shooting a rocket instead of swapping to and shooting a special GL.
@portionsforcam Swapping to a gl or sniper during a rotation aren't bad things, it's helping keep up the dps. It's been one of the metas for years now becuase gl's do a lot of dmg per shot. If the rotation isn't something you like than just shoot bipod rockets instead of swapping, but just understand your dps and total dmg is gonna be much worse. In that case just use a different dps method than this one.

Cloudstrike + terminal crux (reconstruct + explosive light) + nova bomb (with star eaters) = 4+ million in one phase
Seem to have gotten every crux apart from this one. Gonna try cloudstrike field prep cascade wendigo next time, see how that does.

Wild Style is really good now since they gave it Reconstruction with a choice between BnS, Surrounded, and Vorpal.

Instead of reloading first time, why not use a melee to prov radiant? should give time to where demo can proc with your next grenade
Song of flame already buffs your damage by 25% same as radiant
Explosive light is better because you get the extra damage on the first rocket.

Didnt realize you could damage The Witness in certain spots that aren't his crit spot, or is it just THAT big that it extends past the yellow spot we see on their chest?😅

My guy, there is absolutely a BIG difference between Explosive light & Bait and Switch... If you're going to do a DPS test the do it properly. B&S has a easy uptime AND better damage, AND you can buff EVERY ROCKET instead of just 7...

Meanwhile Whisper outputting the same damage without any of the work. Seriously tho whisper slaps. Run solar for heat rises so you can keep shooting and not lose whispered breathing when jumping over the wipe attack. As for the normal witness attacks, I can face tank them with well and 100 resil. Just place the well close to the witness so you only ever get hit by one of the two beams and also so that ads cant kill you.

Apotheosis drip is a minus to overall dps 😞
Rotations are potentially the worst DPS of all. So thats easy as no for me, for almost every dmg rotation in the game

@@minkernator Everything you can't mess up. Easy. Bc when you mess up the rotation or you died before DPS and have no perks progged. Almost every Rotation that involves Flawless Play are a no go for me
Ill never understand the constant nerfing of things in a pve game lol. Like who gives a shit we are playing agaisnt ai is it that big of a deal if something is to strong ? Pvp that's a whole different story but who cares we are playing against the ai. Always thought. I understand the whole balancing of things but the entire point of this game is to feel super strong and powerful and they constantly take that away from us.
