After almost 4 months of issues with the Alde system and 2 months of NO HOT WATER, it is finally time for Brian and Michelle to head north to Elkhart, Indiana to Truma Corp (Alde), to have their system fixed. It’s too bad you didn’t go to the Fantastic Caverns in Branson. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed them. If you’re ever in Branson again, you should go. It’s a tram ride all through the caverns.
There’s so much to do in Branson and so little time for us. We only get the weekends usually and we had some old high school friends to catch up with there.
I actually have been to the Fantastic Caverns many years ago but would love to go back again, as I am sure there would be much that I wouldn’t remember plus I’d love to show Michelle because she has not been there. We plan to go back again in a year or two. 👍🏻😊🤓

Did I hear you talk about gin? My wife is making some rhubarb simple syrup, as I type this, to add to the gin right now! It was picked at the vacation cabin right behind us. Yes....if you aren't home, we're picking your rhubarb and having rhubarb bread, simple syrup, and pie (with their permission to pick it, of course).
These harvest hosts look like an awesome choice to visit every now and then! There is a slew of them up towards Grand Junction, in Palisade CO where the wineries are. We will start a membership once the trailer arrives. Latest update.....truck still holding strong for a mid June arrival to Storm Lake. Trailer has slid to October-ish.
I think my work travels will be taking me back to Palm Springs in about 3 weeks; but you two are out by the midwest now :-( Will you be in IA in the near future, at all?

Treasure Lake is a first come first serve but they do take the RPI discount. We called ahead to be sure. You just have to show your RPI membership card upon arrival.

I can’t believe you guys have gone so long without hot water. How have you been showering?
🤣😂 All the resorts have shower houses that we used. We also used our electric kettle to quickly heat water for dishes & quick wash ups etc. 👍🏻😊🤓
We just finished factory repairs at Winnebago. Could not be happier with the service. Fixed everything on my list and more. Got us done in 2 days while we were scheduled for 4 days.

Hi guys. Hope you're doing well. I noticed in the video you had the truck GPS as well as the phone. Do you take your trips from RV Trip Wizard & DL them to RV Life? I have not been able to do that successfully and currently use my Garmin RV GPS for directions. Looking forward to a successful repair. Watched the vlog this morning from a wet & windy Bar Harbor but Acadia NP is beautiful. Safe travels. Brian
We actually do not have a truck GPS, what you are seeing is our phone GPS hooked up to the truck. Many of your vehicles anymore will have this option.
Yes, once you have your trips saved on RV Trip Wizard, then you log into your EV Life app with your same credentials as RV Trip Wizard. When RV Life first opens, tap to the right of Campground Map (three horizontal lines sometimes referred to as “the hamburger”). From there, scroll down and tap on RV Trip Wizard. Here is where you will see the names of the trips you planned on RV Trip Wizard on your computer. Scroll down from here to the first place that you want to drive to and tap to the right of it (the right angle arrow). Then you will choose whether you want the “RV Friendly Directions” or if you want to use another map provider, which will then give you the option to use your other map apps on your phone.

Yes, it gets missed sometimes when I switch from GoPro to iPhone because the iPhone records audio in stereo then I sometimes forget to do that. Thanks for the heads up! 👍🏻

Now that you’ve used your cooler/freezer for a while do you still really like it and is it very quiet also how long would it run if you ran it off the Jacorey
We never hear it at all and it still works really well. We noticed that it cools very fast. We have not tried it off of the Jackery yet. Have not needed to but a good idea to test. Thanks! 👍🏻😊🤓

Question, is there a difference between the TSD and the EFS? I don't understand it all.
I believe they are part of the same company but when you download the app to use this fuel discount program for RVers, you do not use the EFS app, you use the “TSD Open Roads” app. In a nutshell, TSD is what you would be using.

Where is Truma? My heat has never worked. The water gets hot now it started working after almost a year. I tried it often with no results then one day it just came on and has worked ever since. But no heat for the Room ever
Truma is in Elkhart, Indiana. Do you have the same Alde hydronic heating system? That’s interesting how it just started after all that time. The heat can be caused by many reasons. Truma/Alde does have a customer service that you can try explaining your situation at (855) 558-7862 ask for George. Would love to be able to help you out if I could.

Traveling to Truma from Michigan City via New Buffalo? Gosh golly you sure know how to pick indirect routes. Hilltop in Middlebury will have much better pie than Essenhaus.
Not sure if you missed it, but we went a different route to go to the outlet mall so Michelle could get a dress for my sisters wedding. As we were driving we looked at the map to see if there was an outlet mall not far from the interstate and that just happened to be the one we chose so it took us another route after the outlet mall.

We did drive TO Lighthouse Outlet Mall FROM the interstate because that’s where we wanted to go, we also wanted to avoid the toll road. Is there something we are missing??

If you are going full-time you could be throwing money away getting the Zone Pass. I’d seriously just email Kim over at Campground Membership Outlet and tell yet what your plans are and let her explain what is best. She will not bother you at all, she just gives you the info you need to make a good decision and the man leaves it in your hands to decide. Even when you don’t use the membership all the time, it still pays for itself within just a few months. The Zone Pass has different requirements that will not give you the full experience. 👍🏻😊🤓

What did you have to do to attach the base of the light?
It comes with 3M tape, but I didn’t want something so permanent so I used a command strip. Since the base is a very light plastic the command strip works just fine and of course you take the ball/light off before driving away... at least you try to remember to 😂🤣

We are doing well and so far do not see a point of returning yet. We feel so blessed to be able to live this way. No matter how or where you live, not all days are going to be glorious and perfect. Sometimes it takes people to go back to the life they once had to. Realize just how good they really had it before. We realize we are fortunate and are very grateful.
