I live in southern part of Indian state named, Kerala (meaning land of coconuts). We use coconut for everything like cooking oil, to make fish curries, deserts and in almost every dish. Interestingly we have the highest life expectancy in whole of India

Just scoop some out of the jar, rub your hands together and it will turn to liquid. Slather it on your face, body and hair. Sleep in it, shower in the morning and your skin and hair will be SUPER soft! I do it regularly. GREAT stuff!!

I have changed all oils 2 or more years ago. Now I use only coconut, EVOO and ghee.NO veg oils. But my bloodwork shows high cholesterol. I don’t understand. I stopped the coconut oil…….but now I think the cholesterol is carbs in my diet. So I am adding back in….the coconut oil and being keenly aware of my intake of carbs. I am using some keto foods, etc. I eat pasture eggs daily! Have added in serious high garlic supplements. Sometimes eating garlic raw. Over months I hope these renewed habits will bring my cholesterol down. I refused the statins. Anybody wanna comment??

The thumb rule is eat local. If olive oil is abundant and native, by all means use it. That way you can be assured that it wasn't gmo'd to make it suitable for native soil or didn't go through too much processing to prolong its shelf life while its exported. Coconut is native to us and its easy for us to cold press them and get it fresher and safer than what's been exported to you.

3 years later, I don't actually use it for cooking but I do use it on my skin. Having psoriasis after applying on my patchy spots it usually clears up within 24 hours. Nothing else seems to help/work, I may start having it with my coffee in the morning.

I'm from coastal India ...coconut oil is our staple ...then "research" gave it a bad rep ...
Now "research" again says it's good ..
Traditional native oils eaten in the way our grandparents ate(in small quantities..no deep frying) is always good ...

Hi Dr. Berg. Thank you so much for doing another video on the amazing coconut oil. I heard Dr. Bruce Fife say that coconut oil lowers your blood sugars when you consume it after a meal and that it can even lower the glycemic index of anything you eat by simply adding coconut oil to it. Is this true? Does this also mean that coconut oil can fix insulin resistance and increase your insulin sensitivity? I also read somewhere that coconut oil does not spike your insulin. Could you confirm all this? Thank you very much! Greetings from the Netherlands.
