unlike the public the professionals are looking at the talent miss match on the field. when you think of KC and their primary weapons you can only think of the QB and tight end and running back. when you think of SF you think of a QB/point guard that's surround by pro bowl talent at almost every position . If your looking at matchups its clearly in SF,s favored. public unlike the pros are going on most recent performances and not how the teams matchup. they are assuming SF, defense will continue to underperform. the pro,s are not so sure.

I see how SF is favored, but how do you favor them over Mahomes and Reed? Mahomes has inherited the darling of the league status from Brady. He will get all the calls and no-calls.
Nick’s gloating and snickering and obnoxious talk about anything chiefs related is big part of why people don’t like the chiefs. The show has become boring to watch. Show needs variety.

that kingsbury death from above offense was legendary. mahomes would air it out for like 600 yards and 7 touchdowns a game and they would still end their season 7/5 because of how awful their defense was.
I'm from Lubbock live in Lubbock. No one could of seen him needing this level of success early in his career. Great kid but I will always root against him when he plays my 49ers. Don't mistake being a fan of a player with being a fan of a team.

Patrick Mahomes 2nd day in training camp. I seen him is Saint Joseph Missouri where I live. I was telling everyone he will be a future Aaron Rodgers. Because his arm is unreal up close. I told a guy the next year at training camp. That Mahomes would be the MVP. And he said no it will take him 3 years. I told him that Julian Edelman once said. If it happens in practice there’s a great chance it happens in games. Also I even told Mahomes while getting his Autograph that he would be MVP. And he laughed and said that’s the Goal. That same day I was talking to Travis Kelce. He said he was supposed to be a Quarterback in College but he partied to hard 😂😂😂

My issue is Nicks hard stance that Dak is elite. Had him as his MVP. Dude just doesn’t have it. He’s lost his locker room completely. Meanwhile Purdy locker room has 100% faith in him. That’s the difference between the two.

He did acknowledge that after flaming out again this post season that Dak doesn’t have it in him and no one will care about the cowboys again unless they win in the playoffs

I realized Mahomes was special in Denver on Monday Night Football his first year as a starter. First game where things were not going smoothly and he converted that throw with his left hand. Just felt like a guy who was a winner whether momentum was on his side or not!
I agree. But he wasn't the starter at that time. It was the last game of the regular season and he started because they were in the playoffs, so they let Alex Smith rest. That game is when the rest of the NFL went on notice, though.
This was the exact same moment I realized, this guy was gonna be good. Before that he had a good game from the previous year, his first year in the league, and two straight wins in his first year starting, but it seemed like he was just on a great chiefs team. The broncos game, when things were going ugly and he pulled off that ridiculous 1st down conversion left handed and scored on that drive to help win the game ... That was when I could see his greatness
I knew he was gonna be great when Alex Smith had the writing on the wall it was his last year. Those players know before everyone because the best players show in practice before the rest of us see it on the field. When your a starting qb and the backup rookie who knows the playback 1/4th as good as you outplays you in practice consistently, you know deep down who's best.

Yes, I was sold on Mahomes, really after the 6 touchdowns versus Pittsburgh in week 2.
I knew he was a special player after that week 4 game at Denver (2018).
But I was completely sold after that 4th and 9 play versus Baltimore in Arrowhead...December 9, 2018.

P.S.This is a classic Super Bowl rematch. Multiple starters were rookies for the 49ers. Bosa, Greenlaw, Warner. Kittle was a 2nd year player. For the Chiefs it was Mahomes 3rd season. He grew a whole lot in those playoffs before winning his first SB, trailing in all
three games by as many as 24. Sound familiar? Brock is still growing this season!

These folks should compare apples to apples. That is, compare Purdy’s first two NFL years to Mahomes’ first two NFL years. As to their reliance on the fact that NFL scouts made Purdy the last QB to be selected in the draft, please ask them where the 8 QB’s selected ahead of Purdy are in their NFL careers.
Proof that scouts don’t always get it right. And draft standings aren’t everything. They really shouldn’t even be counted a factor after the player’s first couple years.

In fairness, even as a Broncos fan who's had to suffer countless Mahomes-induced heartbreaks over the past half-decade and change (and will likely suffer many more to come), the Chiefs looked utterly pitiful on Christmas Day. Huge credit to them for picking up the pieces to get back to form, and I personally pick them to win this weekend, but the Chiefs being underdogs in both this game and the title game is/was at least understandable purely on paper.
The Niners got crushed by The Ravens on Christmas Day.

One thing that is being overlooked is Charles Omenihu not playing. With him the Chiefs can generate pressure with 4 without sacrificing the back end. Without him? Lots of uncertainty. Also think the Chiefs run defense is going to get gashed.

I'm a Patriots fan. However i have to admit, i love watching Mahomes and the Chiefs play. Just as i loved watching Brady's 07'' Patriots. I just think the Chiefs are to explosive, even down 21. I'm rooting for the chiefs as a Cowboys fan, but I think the reason the chiefs are hated are they have got some crucial game ending calls.. The AFC championship vs the bengals. Last year's superbowl vs the Eagles. It's upset people who now want to see them lose because of those game clinching calls along with being as good as they are.

As a 9er fan, I will say Pat Mahomes with Andy Reed is the best combo since Brady was with Belichick. If I was an unbiased gambler, I would never bet against Patrick Mahomes. He is too good and has learned how to win in big moments. This 48er team is stacked and I believe Brock Purdy is a lot better than people who are casual realize. I put money before the season started on the Niners to win it all and I feel good about my bet in this game. I pick the 9ers by 4.
Commiserations
Purdy threw 4 INTs, the whole game felt like an outlier ... yet they still put up more points on the ravens than the chiefs did LoL.
When Mahomes made that throw against the 49ers when he ran 1 way then the other. Threw a frozen rope to Conoley?( I think) I was like well damn that was good... Alex Smith wouldve thrown it away or got sacked.
