So you think it can’t be improved then? OK. It’s good, but it’s not perfect. Hard plastics on the door, hard armrests at the back, no climate at the back, manual boot, and auto speed recognition that reads signs on side streets and slows you down despite being on a faster road. If you think that’s perfect…
Pretty much spot on. I was going to film a review of mine this weekend and it's more or less what I was going to say. I haven't had the infotainment bugs you've had or accidentally touched the steering wheel buttons though.
Very good review. I thought this would be a “fan boy” review because of your channel name. We (wife & I) have been EV drivers for 7+ years. Found the VZ surprisingly disappointing. It weighs 2 tonnes so not as “punchy” as expected. Seats were excellent and the best thing about the cabin! Otherwise seemed very overpriced for an average cabin. No powered tailgate. Ok at £30k. Not at £45k! And pano sunroof so strongly tinted midnight blue did not brighten cabin. Instant throttle response a feature of all EVs. Well balanced review though.
Thanks for the feedback and your thoughts and experience. Yes, whilst we are a fan community with a good relationship with SEAT and CUPRA we will always call it out if they drop the ball: www.seatcupra.net/2021/02/22/here-is-the-cupra-formentor-2-5-litre-vz5-with-390ps-and-0-62-in-4-2-secs-but-not-so-fast/ and www.seatcupra.net/2021/06/26/cupra-formentor-e-hybrid-vz2-245ps-dsg-review/
I've had a Born V1 for just over 6 months and it's due to be replaced soon. I was hoping the VZ would just be that little bit better on the brakes, which other than the overall range on my 58Kw battery is all that's really needed to make this a really fun car. Sounds like Cupra just missed the bullseye on the brakes, which is a shame given the intended market.
Hi - only had it for a week so didn't get to experience any issues. We have one owner already in our Born forum so might be worth following them and asking for their experience www.seatcupra.net/forums/forums/cupra-born.382/
@@SEAT-CUPRA-NET The VW website still has the battery safe footnote against a range of VW EVs. Exactly what is meant by it is not explained and despite asking VW have never responded as to why it kicks in and on what criteria so it is an unmanageable risk
47,000 BRITISH STERLING POUNDS! Madness. It does look good but EV cars really need to be more affordable if they expect the masses to move to electric.
just got mine... 2025 model.. not the VZ tho.. but its bloody awesome. holy moly
Glad you love it!
The previous Born was good and the VZ version is perfect ❤️❤️❤️
Yes it's a great improvement over the standard car! Thanks for commenting.

Thanks. Glad to hear you've not had the bugs we saw; hopefully, it was just a one-off with the test car.

Thanks for your comment. We'd definitely suggest taking one for a spin yourself if you get a chance and let us know what you think.
@@pete_stewardson I found the braking poor on mine, very lumpy old beast. In heavy rain or ice/snow it was downright scary.
Love it
Thanks for your comment!
Does it still have the battery safe mode issue? Have they resolved the charging issues both AC and DC?

The Display is new (gen2) right? The old one was 12" and the new one 12.9". I find nothing about that improvement on the Cupra pages.
Hi yes it has the 12.9" touch screen

Indeed, it's a lot of money!
Waze always says it going the opposite way momentarily. It’s not the car.
Thanks. A shame that's reflected in the Hud as it stays the wrong direction even if Waze has updated itself.
Electric cars cutting out the average working man. 47k!! Ouch!
Indeed!
