Agreed, it may sound weird, but I'd definitely rewatch that several time. A long form video in-depth essay into Blackest Night? That's a PERFECT "put on a video and do some chores" or "something soothing to fall asleep to" video (topic not withstanding)
This was such a marvelous recap, reading this series as it was being released was my favorite time in my comic book reading history, and you gave that feeling back to me 7 fold and for that I thank you Now can you do 3 prequel series? First- Geoff Johns Green Lantern (Hals return to life and the corps) Second- The Sinestro Corps War And finally Third- The War of Light (before the first black ring)
Fantastic stuff! If you ever do another of these (though i don't think much could top this story, except maybe all the build up to it, Sinestro Corp War, etc.), It'd be cool to see Hal's fall and rise between Reign of the Supermen and The Final Night.
Finally! The Finale! Great run down Dan! Thank you so much. This was a blast going down memory lane. This event was such a huge and fantastic payoff to Johns war of light saga. It really did have something to say beyond just superhero comic junk food. Life is beautiful. So live. To live is to be emotional. Learn to embrace and control your emotions. Don't bury them away thinking they make you weak. There are slight problems throughout the whole epic. As I said in the previous video, the biggest criticism I have for Johns' run is the indifference shown towards John Stewart. He really just feels like a background character throughout. And great point about not having him deal with a dead Katma Tu more personally. Also, ignoring Fatality and her feelings towards him and Xanshi was a big mistake. That scene with Kyle and Balck Lantern Alex in the fridge was gross. Her character should have been treated with more respect than that. The Dove being immune to the Black Lanterns works for me. I always thought the answer to that was self explanatory. Dove is the avatar of peace. To embrace peace is to embrace life. Hawk is the avatar of war. To embrace war is to embrace death. It's also really cool how Johns/DC tried to establish a cosmic hierarchy here like Marvel has done for decades. He provided an explanation as to why so much happens on Earth when it just seems to be a back water meaningless planet in a way Marvel has never done satisfyingly. Because life originated on Earth. The life entity is hidden on Earth. That's why the Guardians never wanted Earthlings in the G.L. corp. That's why Abin Sur came to Earth, as a means to prevent the prophecy. Nekron would be one of the most powerful beings in existence because he is literal death. It all works so well. And it provides not only a great setup for the next era of G.L. but the DCU as a whole with Brightest Day. Cannot wait for what you cover next. Take care and peace everyone.
This series was amazing I was so excited for every new video coming out don't know if you are gonna do any one of these type of videos again but if you do you should do brightest day I would love to hear your take on the story specifically with the deadman portions of the book
This was great. My favourite, despite not being a huge Titans fan, was the second in your series. Dove's mysterious ability against the black rings never fully gets answered in Blackest night, does it?
Awesome series on the greatest modern day GL arc. Now how about onto Brightest Day?!!!
If you compiled these into one large video, i would gladly watch them all again

This series was done so well. You really brought something new to the table with your version of Blackest Night.
Happy Halloween 🎃
Nice.
Now do brightest day

Awesome ending!!! You should do a playlist of some of the cooler lantern one offs that happen after BN
Loved this series! Would love you to do more older stories and epics like this
ENDING! LETS GOOOO

Thank you so much for working soooo hard on getting this out on the schedule you did. I love your channel. Happy 31st
Great videos! Makes me want to read this epic saga again!
This was great.
