For a show I thought I wasn’t liking much I sure have a lot of questions. I find myself trying to connect the dots and try to figure what it all means.I’m actually looking forward to season 2.
This is a perfect description of how I feel. While watching I felt myself critiquing it so much (mainly the acting). It seemed to jump from being a blockbuster A quality show to a B quality show and back again. So on and so forth. I really stuck with it because of the premise and I too have lots of questions.
The characters we all unlikable in my opinion. I finished up the season but really would not recommend it. Having said that, I will give season 2 a chance. Hopefully it will be improved. I really didn’t like season one of The Leftovers but the rest were fantastic!
Be sure the writers have the same questions as you do and no idea on how to answer them properly. This show is one of the most wasted potentials I've ever seen. It's awful.
My biggest criticism of this show is how freakin dark everything is. I understand utilizing shadows and darkness to give a creepy or unknown aesthetic especially to the aliens, but half the time when they focus on something the lighting is so poor you can’t even make out any details. Even when they’re trying to show you writing, several times I had to pause and lean forward while really trying to focus on small details, like Casper’s name written down in one particular section.
Srsly? The dark is the worst part for you of this pile of garbage of a show? Not a problem with one whole episode with a Sheriff who just... Dies? Or a dull soldier with hours of screentime and still brings NOTHING to the story until meeting our British boy? Smh
@@Henrique.Souza0601 I agree with you, but I’m giving the show the benefit of the doubt, and waiting to see more of the story before deciding if that truly is crappy writing or not. The sheriff thing did bug me though. I don’t mind a slow burn story if the pay off is worth it.

@@Henrique.Souza0601 I absolutely understand. I enjoy slow burns and mysteries so I appreciate that so far the story is not super obvious as to what exactly is happening. Even if this makes some characters annoying (I hate Aneeshas son I want to throw him into the sun, and The Soldier dude is not memorable enough for me to remember his name) If they can come up with a creative and original story with the Ayyliens then I will be happy but if they’re giving us all this BS and it turns into some generic predictable plot I will be very upset.
i don't mind slow pace, but season 1 isn't just slow it's too slow and the payback is also underwhelming. and there's no actual alien invasion in season 1. in term of writing it's also terrible, season 1 feels like 2 or 3 episodes stretched into 10 episodes.
Yep, it's major boring among other things! 🙄 The whole thing with Mitsuki Yamato constantly pining over her dead girlfriend during the entire season really seemed overly pushed. It got so annoying and useless that I fast-forwarded through most of her content.

Anissa’s kids were bad as hell. I know they were young but kids that young usually have some sense of preservation. Ugh they were driving me fing crazy.
The characters in this series are so unlikable that after one episode I started rooting for the Invaders. So bland, flawed, uninteresting, one dimensional. Go Aliens!
That woman should have ditched her pos husband from the beginning. She was the one raising the kids and doing everything herself before the invasion. It was no different after.

Because half of it was absolute garbage IMO. The most interesting character is killed off right at the start. The whole saga with the kids was completely irrelevant heal dragging that didn't move the story forward a single bit. The part in the desert had huge potential and ended moving so slow with nothing happening that I was practically falling asleep. The only saving grace was the story line with the astronaut. The twist was pretty cool there. Also the scene with the family trying to evade the aliens was a nice change of pace but the entire show was mid at best. It's got HUGE potential so I'm glad they are renewing it but the first season was pretty bad.

I know there's a heap of comments regarding how bad this show is and I get it. But really, I can think of some other terrible series before this one. There's redeeming aspects. Golshiftah is great and so too the Japanese actor. The soldier is also solid. Season 2 steps up in pace and has some good special effects including strange but interesting interactions with the aliens. It's almost like it's learned from the glaring mistakes of its first season. It's kinda mindless as you don't have to think very hard but it's easy watching. A break from more cerebral shows out there that I've loved. p.s Pantheon on prime if you haven't seen it, I promise you it is engrossing and the best thing I've seen since Severance.
I really like the series, but every time it goes back to that young Asian girl and her scenes, it just dragged on too long with her boohooing over her dead lover. My goodness, we get it , you’re hurting, but her scenes definitely slowed the pace a lot
I really like how Season 1 was slow, because i watched so many great shows that have like 8+ seasons and they rushed things so much that after the 4th or 5th season they just dont know what else to do so they make time traveling shenanigans or some love triangle or someone dies and then "surprise!" they come back from the dead aka they werent actually dead, or some other wild stuff that makes the show lose its identity. Ive seen movies that do that too like X-Men First Class was amazing and then all of the sudden "Oh lets bring in Age of Apocalypse arc!"
That 12min recap is better the watching the show itself. I found it to be riddled with b-roll footage making much of it unnecessary. Ten episodes is an overkill for what could have been truncated into a 2hr movie.
Tried to watch the first episode and for the life of me, what’s with every show taking forever to build up. Also, I’m a woman and I support strong female roles but it’s not enjoyable when writes include racial stereotypes and inequality to empower them in series. Maybe if you just not write that in, these shows would do better. I’m just sick of this. Hope hollyweird goes out of business and recreates itself into something more interesting with new, revitalized content.

Thanks for saving me time, I got 3 episodes in and was bored to tears. The amount of time spent on "soap opera" drama i.e. infidelity, boy meets girl, lost love and retirements was a complete turn off. The series should be named "Feelings during a disaster". This is a complete misnomer with the utter lack of aliens or science, fictional or otherwise. There is more, far more, magnitudes more screen time dedicated to retirement parties, sunrise appreciation, marital problems and coy budding love than anything related to any type of Invasion. If you are a Sci-Fi fan, skip this one.

When I watched Invasion I got hooked and loved it, not seeing or understading the threat, and thought that was a common feeling but just now learning that a lot of people hated it, but to each their own... Some of yall would give JAWS 2/10 for not showing the shark enough.

If you thought this was slow and boring, you will not want to watch Echo 3. If you do, you can get by episodes 2 and 9 and save yourself many hours of your life.
It’s a great show surprisingly, definitely not the best ever and like all suspenseful scenes you get a little irritated, however it’s a slept on show that needs more attention

Now, I personally think there are many nations with many wonderful things about them, and I've never really thought that Americans are any better than anybody else in this world for the most part. What doesnt make sense to me is that these so called creatures are resistant to everything, yet old mate burns one and it dies, and a woman stabs one with a chuck of whatever steel. Luke has no idea where he got a chunk of said steel from and despite it being a massive plot point they dont investigate it. The problem with these apple tv shows is they are 99% fluff 1% story. I literally watch them on vlc and set my arrow key to skip 20 seconds and just keep spamming the arrow key. So Sooo much boring crap that doesnt need to be in there and nothing that should be.

Time to go through my husband's phone even though I know he's cheating and it helps in no way? Might as well put TJ Miller's character from Cloverfield in there. Only bad part of the show.
I think Ahmed is written even worse. It’s comical how terrible a person he is. What’s more hilarious is that he isn’t killed earlier after refusing to listen to his wife. I don’t usually wish a family to be split up but I think they will be better off without him.

I love how the ‘deadly’ alien spider thingies are easy to kill (as long as you’re one of the main plot protagonists) If you are a professional soldier etc you don’t stand a chance, but a mum in the back of a car can stab one to death easily! Also this has to be Earths most boring invasion plot

Other organisms can communicate with sounds(not words) Smells… Communication can even be done with light that is at a different frequency that we can visually see. (Did you know radio waves are apart of the electromagnetic spectrum just as light waves. It’s just invisible light which can explain why they could communicate through the broadcast.

So, basically nothing of interest happens. Aliens are barely even seen in a supposed alien invasion movie, not explained how these mindless things can kill the military, and then some weird cloth piece can kill them after they play Signs with a random family. Then they get nuked and that was that.
It’s called invasion, but just like the characters, we don’t know exactly what they’re up against, until episode 6, which by the way gives aliens an entire episode, then the rest of the season has aliens every episode, so that’s just a stupid claim. We saw how these aliens could kill the military lol. And the thing wasn’t even cloth, it was obviously some sort of metal maybe from a ship or something. Also, they literally say that it feels too good to be true after the nuke, and if you actually watched, you will se that at the end it wasn’t it, the aliens were not done yet, that was the whole point of the cliffhanger lol. And I don’t know how you got Signs from the family storyline lol.

A show for those born after the year 2000. Rather boring and with annoying characters...pity. Correction, I think the Sam Neil character would have been interesting throughout. Too bad killed in the "sand box". But, maybe he'll be brought back to life?? Movies can do anything.
Yeah, I noticed that as well, and I bet TH-cam is erasing most of the thumbs down count as well! I've personally seen TH-cam modify the thumbs up and down count many times.
My recap: Trash show. Boring as ****, worse plot, storylines and storytelling, extremely annoying characters (the characters also act infinitely stupid and illogical), no sympathetic characters, massive logic gaps that make no sense in each episode, boring opera soaps, and boring alien design.
@@watevr4evr From what has been seen so far, they look like sea cucumbers on steroids. I will still continue to watch, should there be a season 2. Simply because I love the genre and there is not so much in this direction.
The aliens literally fold inside out on themselves and feel organic, great design in my opinion, and I don’t really think it’s supposed to feel complete until next season.

The first season was way too plodding and slow. It took itself too seriously. I hated the stupid racism tropes. Why does every writer have to depict all white people as ignorant racist trigger happy morons?? It’s just stupid and cliche. Really hoping the lace picks up in season 2. I’m a scifi nut so I’ll watch but really hope it gets better
The worst show I've seen... possibly ever! It moves at the pace of a stoned snail... and I'm being generous! The character building just never ends. It's still working up to nothing. The characters are boring. Everyone seems to be a moron. The personal arcs of the individuals are agonisingly drawn out and uninteresting. It's also woke garbage to boot. I had no intention of watching more of this absolute CF but, thanks to this recap, at least I know what happens.. which is basically nothing.
Why are you complaining about character development? That’s the best part of the show for me, but I guess everyone has their opinions. Btw I don’t think any character arc is uninteresting. We have a comma specialist in Japan who gets into her secret lover’s last moments to hear strange sounds that she learns move things with a certain amount of volume, then reaches out to make contact with this other life. We have a bus full of kids who crash and are stranded in a pit it’s a boy who draws a lot, who happens to draw the exact satellite image that caused their bus to crash when he didn’t even see it, he can see hat the aliens see when seizures are induced. We have a family with a wife that just found her husband cheating, which causes many complex interaction the rest of the season which even makes us feel bad when they cheating husband dies. This one wasn’t as interesting in my opinion, but had the family perspective for people to relate to or just to get a different perspective on this invasion. And then we have a soldier fighting for the army who is in a war against Afghanistan. He left his wife at home, and ends up seeing an alien aircraft in-person, and he end up trying to get home. Again, another story that isn’t as interesting, but another point of view on this invasion. Something that affects the whole world that we get to see from all different points of view, which is what makes this show amazing.

Anissa’s kids were bad as hell. I know they were young but kids that young usually have some sense of preservation. Ugh they were driving me fing crazy.
The characters in this series are so unlikable that after one episode I started rooting for the Invaders. So bland, flawed, uninteresting, one dimensional. Go Aliens!
That woman should have ditched her pos husband from the beginning. She was the one raising the kids and doing everything herself before the invasion. It was no different after.

Because half of it was absolute garbage IMO. The most interesting character is killed off right at the start. The whole saga with the kids was completely irrelevant heal dragging that didn't move the story forward a single bit. The part in the desert had huge potential and ended moving so slow with nothing happening that I was practically falling asleep. The only saving grace was the story line with the astronaut. The twist was pretty cool there. Also the scene with the family trying to evade the aliens was a nice change of pace but the entire show was mid at best. It's got HUGE potential so I'm glad they are renewing it but the first season was pretty bad.
Bc it sucks. So many wasteful shots. If they packed season one into half the time it would’ve been way better

I know there's a heap of comments regarding how bad this show is and I get it. But really, I can think of some other terrible series before this one. There's redeeming aspects. Golshiftah is great and so too the Japanese actor. The soldier is also solid. Season 2 steps up in pace and has some good special effects including strange but interesting interactions with the aliens. It's almost like it's learned from the glaring mistakes of its first season. It's kinda mindless as you don't have to think very hard but it's easy watching. A break from more cerebral shows out there that I've loved.
p.s Pantheon on prime if you haven't seen it, I promise you it is engrossing and the best thing I've seen since Severance.

I really like the series, but every time it goes back to that young Asian girl and her scenes, it just dragged on too long with her boohooing over her dead lover. My goodness, we get it , you’re hurting, but her scenes definitely slowed the pace a lot

I really like how Season 1 was slow, because i watched so many great shows that have like 8+ seasons and they rushed things so much that after the 4th or 5th season they just dont know what else to do so they make time traveling shenanigans or some love triangle or someone dies and then "surprise!" they come back from the dead aka they werent actually dead, or some other wild stuff that makes the show lose its identity. Ive seen movies that do that too like X-Men First Class was amazing and then all of the sudden "Oh lets bring in Age of Apocalypse arc!"
That 12min recap is better the watching the show itself. I found it to be riddled with b-roll footage making much of it unnecessary. Ten episodes is an overkill for what could have been truncated into a 2hr movie.
Tried to watch the first episode and for the life of me, what’s with every show taking forever to build up. Also, I’m a woman and I support strong female roles but it’s not enjoyable when writes include racial stereotypes and inequality to empower them in series. Maybe if you just not write that in, these shows would do better.

Thanks for saving me time, I got 3 episodes in and was bored to tears. The amount of time spent on "soap opera" drama i.e. infidelity, boy meets girl, lost love and retirements was a complete turn off. The series should be named "Feelings during a disaster". This is a complete misnomer with the utter lack of aliens or science, fictional or otherwise. There is more, far more, magnitudes more screen time dedicated to retirement parties, sunrise appreciation, marital problems and coy budding love than anything related to any type of Invasion. If you are a Sci-Fi fan, skip this one.
Invasion is terrible. I’m stunned it got renewed for a 2nd season. AppleTV must be desperate now that Ted Lasso is done and Severance is on hold.

When I watched Invasion I got hooked and loved it, not seeing or understading the threat, and thought that was a common feeling but just now learning that a lot of people hated it, but to each their own... Some of yall would give JAWS 2/10 for not showing the shark enough.

If you thought this was slow and boring, you will not want to watch Echo 3. If you do, you can get by episodes 2 and 9 and save yourself many hours of your life.

This show was flooded with one useless scene after another. Whole season could easily be like 4 episodes….
What doesnt make sense to me is that these so called creatures are resistant to everything, yet old mate burns one and it dies, and a woman stabs one with a chuck of whatever steel. Luke has no idea where he got a chunk of said steel from and despite it being a massive plot point they dont investigate it.
The problem with these apple tv shows is they are 99% fluff 1% story.
I literally watch them on vlc and set my arrow key to skip 20 seconds and just keep spamming the arrow key. So Sooo much boring crap that doesnt need to be in there and nothing that should be.

Great series but Aneesha is they type of character that drives me insane. She's wrote to not be able to get past her own crap when the Earth is being invaded? Time to go through my husband's phone even though I know he's cheating and it helps in no way? Might as well put TJ Miller's character from Cloverfield in there. Only bad part of the show.

So, basically nothing of interest happens. Aliens are barely even seen in a supposed alien invasion movie, not explained how these mindless things can kill the military, and then some weird cloth piece can kill them after they play Signs with a random family. Then they get nuked and that was that.
It’s called invasion, but just like the characters, we don’t know exactly what they’re up against, until episode 6, which by the way gives aliens an entire episode, then the rest of the season has aliens every episode, so that’s just a stupid claim. We saw how these aliens could kill the military lol. And the thing wasn’t even cloth, it was obviously some sort of metal maybe from a ship or something. Also, they literally say that it feels too good to be true after the nuke, and if you actually watched, you will se that at the end it wasn’t it, the aliens were not done yet, that was the whole point of the cliffhanger lol. And I don’t know how you got Signs from the family storyline lol.

The first season was way too plodding and slow. It took itself too seriously. I hated the stupid racism tropes. Why does every writer have to depict all white people as ignorant racist trigger happy morons?? It’s just stupid and cliche. Really hoping the lace picks up in season 2. I’m a scifi nut so I’ll watch but really hope it gets better
The worst show I've seen... possibly ever! It moves at the pace of a stoned snail... and I'm being generous! The character building just never ends. It's still working up to nothing. The characters are boring. Everyone seems to be a moron. The personal arcs of the individuals are agonisingly drawn out and uninteresting. It's also woke garbage to boot. I had no intention of watching more of this absolute CF but, thanks to this recap, at least I know what happens.. which is basically nothing.
Why are you complaining about character development? That’s the best part of the show for me, but I guess everyone has their opinions. Btw I don’t think any character arc is uninteresting. We have a comma specialist in Japan who gets into her secret lover’s last moments to hear strange sounds that she learns move things with a certain amount of volume, then reaches out to make contact with this other life. We have a bus full of kids who crash and are stranded in a pit it’s a boy who draws a lot, who happens to draw the exact satellite image that caused their bus to crash when he didn’t even see it, he can see hat the aliens see when seizures are induced. We have a family with a wife that just found her husband cheating, which causes many complex interaction the rest of the season which even makes us feel bad when they cheating husband dies. This one wasn’t as interesting in my opinion, but had the family perspective for people to relate to or just to get a different perspective on this invasion. And then we have a soldier fighting for the army who is in a war against Afghanistan. He left his wife at home, and ends up seeing an alien aircraft in-person, and he end up trying to get home. Again, another story that isn’t as interesting, but another point of view on this invasion. Something that affects the whole world that we get to see from all different points of view, which is what makes this show amazing.
Terrible show. Honestly one of the worst I’ve ever seen.
