But there are positives too...some of the builds are really well designed, a lot of color and great play features. So we'll see...I think some of them will be like Elves theme, but could be very long hold times. What do you think about dreamzzz?

You are being very generous with your Indiana Jones commentary. The last two movies were awful with the last one being a woke mess that absolutely obliterated the franchise. That is why Lego made 3 sets featuring the past movies.
Yeah, I saw the revenue numbers and it wasn't good and many people said it wasn't good. But I never saw it so I couldn't say for sure, haha! Yeah, I'm glad the sets are from past movies. Lego had a 4th set (the big play set in the series - 77014), too bad the big one didn't come out. How do you think the 3 sets out will do?!
@@kdxbricksanalytics Hey Kevin, I think they will do ok at best because there are so many people doing this now and the sets are cheap. I did get a few but I am afraid the hold times will be long for them to at least double your money. I was one of those people that missed out on the first go around. "the golden age of Investing." Btw, I didn't see the movie neither. I don't support woke projects. I just saw a lot of the reviews on line. Thanks for highlighting the DreamZzz sets! A lot of them went on 50% Walmart In-store clearance. Had to visit 6 Walmart stores to find one with Nightmare Shark Ships at $70 (50% discount) So I think picking up a few of each at that price point seems like a good idea, even if they are long hold. I kind of like the aesthetics of DreamZzz villains sets (seasons 1&2) more than the heroes. I wonder if other people feel that way also.
Nice! I'm glad you were able to find and grab some great deals!! I totally agree...the villains are really cool. Lots of great color, details and play in the DreamZzz theme. Yeah, I"m definitely grabbing some of the good ones when I see them 50% off...but I agree probably longer hold time. Maybe they'll perform like the Elves theme...many have done well after longer hold times. Which sets did you grab? Great comment, thanks! Take care!

Thanks a lot, you're welcome, and no worries! I think those are great pickups! I'm jealous of your bat wings and speed champions 😁 my Walmart's never have those on clearance. Best of luck with all your sets!
Have an opinion question KDX. Lego has Hocus Pocus set double points right now. I have $15 in points to throw at it AND Rakuten has 10% back. Do you think it's a good time FOR PERSONAL to go for it now? Again just your opinion. I grew up on that movie and my wife is allowing me to display it in public area during Halloween!!! Lol If I get it that is.
Hello! If you're wanting it for this Halloween, this might be the best deal you'll see between now and then. I'm sure there will be much better deals in its life, but then it comes down to how long you want to wait until you get it for personal collection. Yeah, if I were grabbing it for investing I'd definitely wait because it's not on the retirement list yet and I'd want to source them at a much lower price. But I've bought many sets for personal collection at much less of a discount then what I would need for investing! For example, I bought my first El Dorado Fortress for personal build (which was awesome!) at full price with double points and a small GWP. And then recently I bought one at $150 for investing when Target had those huge deals about 2 months ago! Have fun, let me know if you get it and if you enjoy the build!
@@kdxbricksanalytics awesome advice KDX!!! I think I'm going to hold off for now. I can always wait until the next double points come around. Plus someone pointed out to me Rakuten is only 3% on exclusive sets vs 10%. Thanks again!!
Not yet. I saw one at Walmart for 50% off, but passed. I was thinking that one might actually go lower. How about you? Do you think 50% off is good, or do you think it could go lower? Take care buddy!
Amazing video!! Just curious. As I get into investing I'm just posting things locally on FB marketplace. Where do you recommend to look into selling legos online? Thanks KDX!!
Thanks a lot for your comment and you're welcome! Great question...I started first selling on local marketplace, then eBay and hopefully amazon soon! My approach was to start simple and get use to each platform before moving to the next (i.e. marketplace, then ebay, then amazon). I felt like I learned the process and market, which helped me expand my capabilities. Best of luck! What sets are you picking up?
@@kdxbricksanalytics I been buying a few random sets I've found on sale at Costco, Walmart, etc. I actually have a question for you since you asked what sets. Is it smart to buy 2 of a set on sale and sell 1 off to help offset the cost even more of the one you are keeping? So example is my costco had the Lego delivery truck (60440) for $60 and the 2 new botanical sets for $22. I bought 1 extra delivery truck anf 2 extra botanical and listed them on marketplace. Delivery truck for $90 (I'll take $80) and then the new botanical sets at an even 30. Just curious is this is a smart idea? Or be cautious?
Good question! That can definitely be a successful approach! Ultimately it comes down to your goals, time you want to put into it (i.e. compound quickly which is more work or hold sets longer for higher ROIs which is less work but slower growing/compounding of your investment), and your overall game plan. Each person has to find their best own balance on those options to find their own best inflection point. I mostly hold 12 to 18 months, but I mix it up and sometimes hold for 6 months and sometimes we'll over 2 years. But, last thing, I never invest in a set that isn't retiring at the end of the year. I don't want to tie up my cash for an extra year unnecessarily. Best of luck!
@@kdxbricksanalytics yes I agree. I'm probably returning the 1 delivery truck and I'll keep one for myself at $60. I bought 2 extra of those new botanical sets for $22 each and both sold already for $30. Basically making the ones I got for my wife about $12 each after taxes. My goal is to lower the cost of my personal collection. I don't ever expect to break even or make any income selling legos. Just want to buy the sets I want without stressing the wallet too much lol. Thanks as always KDX!!!
I 100% here ya! That's what got me started on this journey... My kids and I want to buy and build way too many Lego 🤣 And so I needed to start offsetting some of the cost by grabbing an extra and putting it away to sell off later!

* 71796 - Elemental Dragon vs. The Empress Mech $65(3 copies)
* 71793 - Heatwave Transforming Lava Dragon $27.50 (2 copies)
Thanks a lot, you're welcome, and no worries!
I think those are great pickups! I'm jealous of your bat wings and speed champions 😁 my Walmart's never have those on clearance. Best of luck with all your sets!
Great video Kevin! Love the ranking style vid.
Thanks so much!! Take care buddy!
Lol
If I get it that is.
Oh yeah, good point...I forgot it was a Lego exclusive. Waiting makes sense... hopefully it gets a good deal soon for ya! You're welcome!
Did you get to 71456 Mrs. Castillo Turtle Van yet?
I’ve seen the dreamZ shark ship at 30% off at Walmart
I saw 30% at most my walmarts and then I saw 50% off at one of my walmarts, so I picked up 3!
Ah nice. Haven’t seen it at 50% off but that’s a great deal
If it's not too taxing, keep looking!! I'm seeing more and more Walmart locations discounting sets, so deals might be out there for another week or so!
@@kdxbricksanalyticsI’m going to. I found some stores that HAD them at 50% off but the stock is gone. I’m looking via brickseek but they all say either sold out or N/A. Not sure if that is just because it is on clearance price.
Yeah, it can be tough to find them... I really hope you land on some good ones! Best of luck!
Nightmare dream set I picked up 4 on clearance for 50$ at my local Walmart. Was all they had
Nice!!!! I got 3 at $70 - 50% off is best I've seen, but you got them at 65% off. I'm so jealous! I think they'll do great!
@@kdxbricksanalytics they sat at 75$ for two weeks and the next week I went they marked it , 76961 JW visitor center, and 75352 emperor throne room down to fifty each. I got what was there. 4-3-2 each. I couldn't believe it myself
