For real? I find it a bit clutter and toooo much stuff lol. She needs to create a closed closet system or something to put her stuff away in. As someone with sensory issues, I’d be losing my mind in there. 😂
It's very cluttered. More baskets and totes to "free" up the space would be smart. It doesn't look decorated at all, it looks like she doesn't fit in her own space.
When I see these tiny apartments I think that if you have been out and about all day it must feel like coming home to a little nest but when you work from home I would think it would start to feel restrictive- but she seems very happy in her little space.
any nice cafe can be your office or living room 😀... I lived 3 years in a 250 sqft apt, and I spent all day at different cafes near where I lived. Pro Tip to save money...I would buy a large or Vente tea...and just refill with free hot water all day long...very doable...I was very happy living in the city with museums and nice parks nearby...
Yeah, as someone who lives in a 1 bedroom condo twice the size of hers, I wouldn't work from home unless I had a special reason to stay home, because otherwise, I wouldn't be able to stand it.
I live in a 420 sq ft space and know the feeling of having to be deliberate with EVERY. SINGLE. PIECE. OF. FURNITURE. It takes me a month to plan, explore, dwell on, and test furniture ideas out so that everything fits, is aesthetically pleasing, and works with my everyday life while not making things feel cramped.... And she's done an awesome job of fitting things in - right down to the projector and clear side tables. That murphy bed is genius and soo necessary.
I wanted to hate this so bad given how cramped the space is but Elise has made wonderful and smart choices for her apartment that I have no choice but to love and admire everything!! I get that there's no going around it looking cluttered 'cause it's a studio, but I love how it looks very lived in and that every nook and cranny has function and purpose. 😍😍
We totally get it - studios can feel cramped, but Elise has really made it work by putting so much thought into every detail. It's great to hear that you can appreciate how cozy and functional it is despite the small size. She’s definitely embraced the "lived-in" vibe, and it shows!
I'm with you. Not boasting but my walk in pantry is 150 sq ft so I was horrified at the thought of having to live, eat, cook, sleep and bathe in only double that space. She has done it so well. I think the Murphy bed is a huge plus but her decor makes it look beautiful too.
It looks cramped because it can't be 300 sq ft - I refuse to believe it. It is less than 220... I live in 30 sq m and I do have waaaay more space (with small separate bedroom)
All i need is a shower, sink, toilet, bed, closet, stove, fridge, washer/dryer... in a tiny little space and i'm good. Living with a roommate has helped me to appreciate the PERKS of living alone. I miss it so much. You're living the life i use to have. I hope you know how fortunate you are. ❤
As a former resident of Toronto, I am always happy to see apartments from a city. Few years ago I lived in Downtown as well and could be Elise's neighboor. This apartment should be a tutorial for Architects how to arrange small spaces. Murphy bed is absolutely a key to have living space. I cannot think of any upgrades. This is much better arrangement of a space than many of experts. I've recently saw a house tour of a profesionally done apartment and wanted show this as example how to do it right.
I LOVE that wallpaper on the door! I can't imagine getting it to fit around the deadbolt and the door handle, seems like it would be difficult. She's organized it very well, I'm impressed!
The actual design of this studio apartment seems very well done, but Elise has taken it to the next level with her design, art, lighting, etc. The wallpapering of the door is genius. It is really cozy and comfy, and I think I could actually live in a space like that - as long as you switched the highrises out for trees instead! Great to see Toronto/Canadian spaces featured!
This is the nicest micro apartment I've ever seen!! She did such an amazing job with all the colors and textures. Love the orange couch, and the door wallpaper. Perfect job utilizing all that space, especially with the murphey bed and projector.
The unit itself started with a really great design/layout...loads of natural light, nice balcony, good sized kitchen and bathroom too...Then she optimized the storage spaces, and what to do about the bed...Could have gone with either a single/twin bed or the Murphy bed that she ultimately chose...Very well done!
I live in a 235 sq ft w a sofa bed. storage for sheets, comforters and bed pillows are the bane of my existence. a well designed studio, cutely decorated. high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows keep it airy.
This was so fun to watch! I lived in studios most of my young adult years, so I also learned how to make the most of a smaller living space. Great tip about choosing larger artwork. It looks more deliberate and makes the wall it occupies feel more generous. I love the way you defined separate activity zones, and while you have plenty of things to keep yourself comfortable, it looks well organized. The furniture units effectively create a more contained kitchen area. I did something similar using an IKEA desk when I lived in an efficiency studio.
Loving it, it really looks like one of these apartment videos but made realistic😂 Like this could be how a friend's house looks like on a normal Sunday ☕️
The city is another living space. So going out and other spaces in the condo make it worth it. If this wasn’t in Toronto or an urban centre it’s not worth it.
@@MindfulMya I think if youre an extrovert, definitely. But if youre an introverted person it can be really hard to make this work especially with working full time from home, it would be so difficult. hats off to her for making it work
Like the colour of your sofa. I lived in a Batchelor and had a Queen Bed, sofa and dining table. That way I didn’t have to keep moving things around. And it was cozy. I do not like having to move furniture to sleep. I put my TV on top of the dresser I had. My place was so cozy and I made sure I had a lot of walking space. I could also entertain 6 people for dinner. Myself, I could not handle pulling a Murphy bed down and sorting bedding every morning and night.
Absolutely stunning! I love that the colors are not too crazy and are actually very calming and beautiful! I also love the Asian culture pieces and decor! Very very cozy and beautiful apartment.
Absolutely! Elise did a fantastic job creating a calming and beautiful space. The colour palette really adds to the cozy vibe. Glad you enjoyed the tour!
Brings back wonderful memories of the times I was in Toronto. Only concern is the Murphy bed: I used to come back from work at 3 or 4am & I'd be too zonked to work the bed. V nice apartment & decor.
I like that the shoe cupboard is white, and hides the contents. But, @3:23 the shelf for "stuff that doesn't fit" in her closet, could be improved, with a white 9 cubby shelf. Then you could buy the individual baskets to hide all that "stuff". Already the stuff on the entry wall, and on that door, and on that shelf in front of the window, just makes this small studio apt seem even smaller.
I live in a room in a (big, victorian) shared house. I think my room is about the same size as that apt! "You'll own nothing, and you'll be happy" is coming true
Love the way she decorated and gave me some inspo for my own place! But living in TO, I know this apt is probably like $2400. Living in Toronto is SO expensive and that's coming from an American who lived in L.A.!
This place is soooooo freaking cute! I love all the pops of colours and all the unique objects she has around the house. Very creative and fun. If I lived by myself my apt would look very similar, lol!
So glad you enjoyed the tour! 😊 Elise has definitely made the most of the space, and we're glad you love the wallpapered door-it’s such a fun touch, isn’t it? She put a lot of thought into choosing that pattern, and it really adds some personality to the apartment!
Elise, I really enjoyed watching your video. You used your words so effectively to describe your living space. You have a talent for efficiency, it shows! Would you be able to share more info on your projector and screen? Where did you buy the combo?
Hi its v ge first time i visit your site and yiu are an awesome designer, you make every space so functional. I have a small room too but is also looking at the projector option instead of having a big tv, can you possibly give me the link for your remote retractable projector screen ? Thanks so much ! Come on now. This space doesn’t look bigger with the way she’s decorated and arranged it. She’s got enough stuff in there for a full one bedroom apartment lmao. It seems so crammed and smaller than it actually is to me. Nobody can say this bachelor looks bigger than 300 sqft unless you are blind. You are giving false praise just for the sake of giving praise.
Finally some color! I was wondering where the sofa would go when she put the Murphy Bed down and what a wonderful solution. She needs to purchase some more clothes and shoes though. 😏❤
Love what you did with your space! Very creative and thoughtful :) Where did you get your desk? I’ve been looking for a small sit/standing desk the same size
The way she organized the space is genius. Hard to think of another way it could be done better
