in all seriousness i'm always amazed how every list anthony does has such a vast array of genres and sounds. really makes you think about just how much knowledge and experience he has in music, and how much he takes into consideration without excluding any corner of the industry

I mean he reused a lot of these songs from other recent lists so it’s not like he’s had to reevaluate the same songs for each video. Plus I doubt he gives too much thought to each pick, he just went through some of his favorite songs of the decade, not every song of the decade.
It's a pretty mediocre list and has opened my eyes to the fact that Fantano places far more emphasis on the timely as opposed to the timeless. The only tracks I even mildly agree with in the top 20 are Helplessness Blues and Black Star, songs that actually convey a timely emotion within a timeless scope. I can't believe that Charlie XCX and Career Boy are in the top 20 of the past 10 years. Apocalypse Dreams is on the same level as Helplessness Blues, that's just off the top of my head.

I know that the title says songs, but like his annual top singles lists, he’s only chosen and used songs that were singles. So the only two songs from Rodeo that could’ve been used would be 3500 or Antidote, and so he obviously thinks that Sicko Mode is Travis’s best song that was pushed as a single.
Although I agree with your take that 90210 is better than Sicko Mode, a list like this also takes into account the impact that song had on the music industry. That is why I think that he put sicko mode on the list, and rightfully so.

Anthony Sturino ofc its a question of personal taste but altough sing about me is great, the instrumental gets a little monotonous and can feel a little draged out compared to Blacker the Berry
For the longest time I've only listened to metal, punk or really experimental, noisy things so I really gravitated towards your channel because you seem to enjoy this type of music a lot as well. This decade however (I've started watching you in 2015 btw), I managed to expand my horizon to so much more amazing music genres and I learned how to appreciate softer and more melodic artists which I now love just as much as what I've previously listened to. I also grew to appreciate a lot of classic artists I've discarded as mainstream before like the Beatles or Prince. A big part of this (besides rym and deep cuts) was your incredible dedication not to a specific genre but to music as a whole. All your starter packs, tier lists, not goods and normal reviews infected me with that general love of music as well and I feel like I've become a better listener the past couple of years. I'm looking forward to all the new and old music I will discover this decade and to hearing from you about it. There are still a lot of genres and artists on my list that I don't know a lot about and that want to be explored. Thank you for what you do!

Litterally my feelings. I was hardcore into only black metal maybe 4 years ago and since I started watching him, I’ve grown as a listener and my top 100 songs of the year list I made is so diverse. Not diverse to look cool but diverse bc of how much love I have for other genres and artists
I was so sad to not see my favorite song of the decade on the list but you had their artists on list so I guess it's ok. My favorite song of the decade is Do Ya Thing by Gorrilaz, James Murphy, and Andre 3000. It's a masterpiece in music imo. The raw emotion in the lyrics, Andre's wailing, the fun switch in tone, and the fact it provided 13 MINUTES OF ART. Amazing song

Helplessness Blues as Melon said is a precise prediction of the feelings and struggles of an entire generation but layered in heavenly beautiful music. I often find myself lacking for words to describe the perfection of this album. Really it amazes me how Robin can sing and harmonizes really sad and self realization lyrics on top of those angelic melodies. The end of a relationship, the desire of being isolated and fulfilled (Innisfree) but at the same time be part of something greater than you, death... And everything is being said in such a romantic way. This album deserves so much more atention that it really has but I feel lucky that I know the greatness of this gem.
finally, a man of culture that recognizes and puts Ariel pink's track where it belongs. The disrespect by Pitchfork to drop its position will forever be a travesty. Also, this is only based on what you have listened to and explored. There's a whole other world of sonic enrichment yet to be explored. An example is Moderat - Bad Kingdom. one of the best of the decade for sure

It's a pretty mediocre list and has opened my eyes to the fact that Fantano places far more emphasis on the timely as opposed to the timeless. The only tracks I even mildly agree with in the top 20 are Helplessness Blues and Black Star, songs that actually convey a timely emotion within a timeless scope. I can't believe that Charlie XCX and Career Boy are in the top 20 of the past 10 years. Apocalypse Dreams is on the same level as Helplessness Blues, that's just off the top of my head.

For the longest time I've only listened to metal, punk or really experimental, noisy things so I really gravitated towards your channel because you seem to enjoy this type of music a lot as well. This decade however (I've started watching you in 2015 btw), I managed to expand my horizon to so much more amazing music genres and I learned how to appreciate softer and more melodic artists which I now love just as much as what I've previously listened to. I also grew to appreciate a lot of classic artists I've discarded as mainstream before like the Beatles or Prince.
A big part of this (besides rym and deep cuts) was your incredible dedication not to a specific genre but to music as a whole. All your starter packs, tier lists, not goods and normal reviews infected me with that general love of music as well and I feel like I've become a better listener the past couple of years.
I'm looking forward to all the new and old music I will discover this decade and to hearing from you about it. There are still a lot of genres and artists on my list that I don't know a lot about and that want to be explored.

I totally agree, that song especially is incredible.
Helplessness Blues as Melon said is a precise prediction of the feelings and struggles of an entire generation but layered in heavenly beautiful music. I often find myself lacking for words to describe the perfection of this album. Really it amazes me how Robin can sing and harmonizes really sad and self realization lyrics on top of those angelic melodies.
The end of a relationship, the desire of being isolated and fulfilled (Innisfree) but at the same time be part of something greater than you, death... And everything is being said in such a romantic way.
This album deserves so much more atention that it really has but I feel lucky that I know the greatness of this gem.
Just discovered them last year and I fuck with them so heavy. Might be my favorite band

Also, this is only based on what you have listened to and explored. There's a whole other world of sonic enrichment yet to be explored. An example is Moderat - Bad Kingdom. one of the best of the decade for sure
