I'm shocked NFR didn't know clipping. The debut really is what Fantano hypes up and their quarantine sister albums are equally worth listening to. Not my favorite hip-hop group but they're a must-experience for hip-hop fans occupying such an interesting niche, they continuously stand out in my rotation.
@@alex-jy6dl Not really, they properly rate JPEGMAFIA and Death Grips but they have to appeal to r/hiphopheads as creators so I don't really blame them for avoiding billy woods or clipping.

I like NFR, but this video is a reminder why I’ve been following fantano for a decade now. He simply exposes me to better, more exciting, and less obvious music than anyone else with a sizable following online
Surprised to hear the NFR guys not hear clipping. To me Daveed gives Andre 3000 vibes in his flow and storytelling capabilities. Not diminishing his own identity because it's certainly unique and good.

i don’t have a definitive list of the best albums of the 2010’s (or any era, i’m a 90’s head myself), but to me, we got it from here is the greatest album of all time. swan song, the socially aware aspect, the political aspects, the best songs my favorite musical act have ever made, and dropping a gem in an era of one-hit-wonders, add that to being the album that made me fall in love with hip-hop and changed my life… it’s the greatest album in my lifetime.

I liked some of your picks to be sure - but I feel maybe just change the perspective a bit by having someone much younger or older comment on their thoughts. The 2010's in hip hop was a slow but rewarding adventure for me (age 54) as an old school hip hop fan who viewed 1981-1995 as a golden age. It's not a criticism of your content - I like it, but its something even I want to change a bit on my channel. But for fun I have; Kanye - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Run the Jewels - 2 Kendrick has 2 with - To Pimp a Butterfly and good kid m.a.a.d. City Pusha T - Daytona (although his new one 'It's Almost Dry' is better) A Tribe Called Quest - You Got It From Here... Death Grips - The Money Store Jay Z and Kanye - Watch the Throne Future - DS2 Danny Brown - XXX I may be just locked in on some obvious picks but artist like Drake just don't appeal to me at all. He is hip hop for 14 year old High School Girls.
"Drake just don't appeal to me at all. He is hip hop for 14 year old High School Girls." I'm around your age and a metal head. I used to say ,"Judas Priest's "Turbo" just don't appeal to me at all. It's metal for 14 year old High School Girls."

You can tell from Anthony's list that he is someone that really appreciates when artists are experimental and original. CLPPNG was probably my entry to listening to more experimental hip-hop. Death Grips and JPEGMAFIA are artists I learned about through Anthony's reviews and I have come to super appreciate those artists. It's really nice to hear something different when a lot of rap is very homogenous. I also appreciate the love shown to Tribe Called Quest and Joey Badass by the NFR guys. Those were fantastic projects too. I would give B4.da.$$ an honourable mention even though 1999 is probably better. TPAB is a classic as is GKMC. Kendrick is the undisputed king of the 2010s.

Defenetly nice trio,i love when people talk about hip hop realisticaly ,you know like no scripts and all that shit ,just pure honesty
Anthony looking like he is leaving home for the first time to start his Pokémon adventure.
Was pleasantly unsurprised to see 'The Big Day' at No. 1! Glad melonhead appreciates variation and beauty in music at it's finest! Brilliant ranking!
he loves his wife what can he say
Wow. So funny and original🤦🏼♂️
But for fun I have;
Kanye - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Run the Jewels - 2
Kendrick has 2 with - To Pimp a Butterfly and good kid m.a.a.d. City
Pusha T - Daytona (although his new one 'It's Almost Dry' is better)
A Tribe Called Quest - You Got It From Here...
Death Grips - The Money Store
Jay Z and Kanye - Watch the Throne
Future - DS2
Danny Brown - XXX
I may be just locked in on some obvious picks but artist like Drake just don't appeal to me at all. He is hip hop for 14 year old High School Girls.
Watch the throne is an interesting pick, it’s usually pretty overlooked
"Drake just don't appeal to me at all. He is hip hop for 14 year old High School Girls." I'm around your age and a metal head. I used to say ,"Judas Priest's "Turbo" just don't appeal to me at all. It's metal for 14 year old High School Girls."
Great Lists from everyone involved

Dope list. Tired of seeing all these Fantano-core lists in the comments
You didn’t like TPAB?
Terrible list, respect
If we talk about 2010's decade, we have to put a Drake album
The most streamed rapper of the decade had a big impact
Nothing Was the Same, Take Care or Views.... one of those 3 must be on top 10 🤷🏻♂️

Really shocked kids see ghosts wasn't even in the honorable mentions

their best album isn’t really rap unfortunately
Mine would probably look like this:
1) Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly

3) Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
4) Death Grips - Exmilitary
5) Joey Bada$$ - 1999
6) Injury Reserve - Floss

@@3lancerofficialmaybe871 true!! Completely forgot
That’s the only Ka album I haven’t heard, I should check it out 🙏
luc and ant NFR have some kind of similar lists, further proving how they have that chemistry which ultimately birthed a podcast together
I got so happy seeing the background, knowing you were with NFR gang.

you all should be doing a top 10 books of 2010s with this library you got behind you
No Yeezus or Pablo on any list or honorable mention is wild
They’re Kendrick fans. So yea. Ye is the best here.
Yeezus and Pablo are overrated af.
I think Ye would be a decent runner up with all his production credits, MBDTF, KSG, and general influence
B4.da.$$ is so underrated
Yeah and I really respected that Big KRIT placement too, such a stellar, underrated album front to back
Yeah doesn't matter if they rapping about having dicks as big as penguins with a vocoder over an accordion, would be top 10 😂
How should we decorate the set for the interview today, Lu?
I dunno, maybe books to the left, books to the right, books in the background?
Fire.
Wish Fant had a chance to explain why Kids See Ghosts wasn't on his list
Fant💀
Fant 😭
why not?
Strawberry Fanta
In no order:
K-Dot - TPAB
MadGibbs- PIÑATA
MadGibbs - BANDANA
Joey Bada$$ - 1999
Joey Bada$$ - SUMMER KNIGHTS
Rapsody - LAILA’S WISDOM
ATCQ - WE GOT IT FROM HERE…THANK YOU 4 YOUR SERVICE
Earl Sweatshirt - SOME RAP SONGS
JID - DI CAPRIO 2
Jay Z - 4:44
Bandana is not nearly as good as most of those especially Gibbs' other album
@@Jezuboad I love it. You got Fake Names, Palmolive, Crime Pays, Education, Giannis, Practice. Gibbs raps his ass off and the production is more unpredictable compared to piñata
My top 10 if anyone cares
1. Kendrick - TPAB
2. Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
3. Death grips - the money store
4. Black Thought - Streams of thought, Vol. 2
5. Ka - Honor Killed the samurai
6. Kendrick - GKMC
7. Billy Woods and Kenny Segal - Hiding Places
8. Nujabes - spiritual state
9. RTJ - RTJ 2
10. Open Mike Eagle - Brick body kids still daydream
Can't believe spiritual state got a 6/10, that album was clean
2:18 “I don’t care about your opinion, anyway, what is your opinion?”
I’m actually glad Clpnng was on the list. Body and blood, story 2, summertime and work work made me realise how creative beats can be.
My favorites (only including 1 of each artist, and including instrumental hip hop albums as well)
1. TPAB - Kendrick
2. Veteran - Peggy
3. SRS - Earl
4. Exmilitary - Death Grips
5. Orpheus vs the Sirens - Ka
6. Haram - Armand Hammer
7. There Existed an Addiction to Blood - Clipping.
8. Cosmogramma - FlyLo
9. Anthology - Knxwledge
10. Flower Boy - Tyler
Honorable Mentions: Piñata, 4 Your Eyez Only, Daytona
I wouldn't really consider Cosmogramma primarily an instrumental hip hop album. Interesting to see all the Exmilitary love in these comments though
Where is good kid mad city
