Just because I'm single doesn't mean I'm lonely. I am 27 and have never had a boyfriend and don't know if I want one, ever lol. My motto is "I'd rather be single than used" plus I'm I enjoy my solitude. I have a couple family members, and my precious children (which happen to be animal children) I love them so much I don't know what to do with myself sometimes lol. And maybe one or two human friends. single does not equal lonely..
@@Ichangedmyname1221 You can be a strong and independent person. But for how long? at a point in life you will seek a partner. And this song speaks for them. 27 is still very young, I am 24 myself also single since birth. I want a stable life, partner comes later. I have to say that it starts getting heavy without someone to lift you up. :) Having friends and family members is good but there are 2 type of lonely. The ones disconnected from society and the ones surrounded by society yet lonely. There will be a time when you want something more different more intimate than friends and family. But this is the words of a young man, I could also be wrong. :)
This takes me back to 2008 walking home from school and finding a scratched up green cd on the floor labeled "only by the night" that still worked just fine. The album got me into indie music for sure

Nostalgia is only a problem when it's a permanent state, when it becomes a detriment to the present. But it's not always a bad thing. Sometimes the past were better days for people, when illness and loss have completely changed their lives things like music can very quickly invoke memories of "better times". The reason I agreed with the comment is this song reminds me of time spent with an important person in my life who died suddenly in 2010. The reminder is not intentional. it just happens when you hear certain music etc. that you were into during that time. Other than that I agree, you shouldn't dwell on the past too long and you should live for the moment as much as you can without fucking up your future.. but its ok to take a breath sometimes and remember. Some people are worth remembering from time to time!
@@desstewart9555 You are not wrong, but I believe you should ACT as if it were. (Do or die fighting - this way, by the time you find out "it" actually can't be overcome you will already be dead and it will not matter anymore.)
I just did overcome some of my demons inside of me today. So proud. You are the change you want in your life. So dream big and believe in yourself. You are worth it!
Man I finally saw it. I was in Poland in 2009 when it turned out the director of this video was staying at the same Hostel I was at. He mentioned it, didn't brag. Kings of Leon always stood out as a band I needed to check out but I just had my preferences.

Time is so unforgiving. I was 12 when this came out and now im about to be 28 with a wife👍🏻 brings back all the childhood memories when life was much simpler. Enjoy all the great moments in life, time flies in the blink of an eye
Time only flies when we mature and reach adulthood, reasons why life felt so long when we were young is because we didn’t take into consideration and the fact we didn’t truly understand time, now when we’re older, we understand the concept of time and when we do that time just then seems to fly by!
This song is not mainstream... hahah. It was one of the biggest hits of 2009 around the world. 130 million view is actually good for a song released 8 years ago.
Damn, I could sit alone and listen to this song with countless thoughts running through my mind. Makes me miss the easy days before life got so stressful and lonely. Before I learned and experienced stress/depression. Cherish your childhood.

I like to think of this song as being about Jesus. I'm working hard when no one is looking. Hoping to be seen. By someone like him. I love you all, eternally.❤
This was the first song of theirs I had ever heard. 10 years later, and I’m an adult with their lyrics tattooed on my body, and my home is filled with pictures taken at their shows. No band makes me feel as good as they do. I love my KOL.
I actually have a pair of red lips that say “Charmer” underneath, “Aha Shake” written on a broken heart - both on my forearm, and “Holy Roller Novocain” on my shin!

I had a friend's father took us on Fishing Trips and Football trips, every single early morning we used to listen to Kings of Leon every single time we were driving there, and he used to sing at the top of his lungs all of the songs. I genuinely loved it, he brought such positive energy. He even helped me catch my first ever fish and a few years ago whilst in his late 30s he had passed away, in which I saw him in his back garden in the sun tanning a few weeks before he had passed. I feel like listening to this just brings back memories :)
Lol I was born in the 80's and grew up in the 90's. I'm a 90's kid. The 90's and early 2000's had the best music. I guess you're the next generation of kids so you think the 2000's had the best music but you're missing out. 80's had some really good music too. Altho I love this song and 2000's music 90's is always the best for me.
This song will always have a place inside me. Although as a kid I couldnt understand much this song definitely made its mark especially when it first came out.
What I love about this band is family. A few brothers and a cousin from Tennessee. I lived in Memphis but spent 12 days in the Smokey Mountains. Love their unique style and so glad they made it so big

Turned 23, march 20th this year. This song speaks to me on so many levels. 🖤
13 years later and it’s still a banger!! ❤❤❤
Facts🙏💪✊️☝️🙏
This is genuinely one of those songs I could listen to forever and never get bored of... came from the top quality time for music

This is real music🔥🤘
draco malfoy best song ever
Essa música é a prova de que é possível ser simples e sofisticado ao mesmo tempo.
2009 was a good ass year.
I was a dumb lost teenager in '09
Yes it was. There was less evil.
I was 7/8 in 2009
in 2009 i don't remember anything besides my brother was and i was 4 💀
Alot of songs were put on yt in '09 I'm pretty sure this song came out before
Late night drives with this song blasting will always be the move.
Let's ride!
A great move Brianna. I like ur shtyle
Cant wait until I get my n in 2 years so I can do this
Yeses
This song really speaks for the lonely people, the ones not yet in love but are searching for it.
Like myself
@nyman7537 may love find you friend. I hope you find everything you're searching for in this life
True.
Having friends and family members is good but there are 2 type of lonely.
Idk why this song makes me want to cry. But in a cool way.
ong
Bingo!
I love you
Are you that Harry Styles fan that got lost ?
we directioners are everywhere. there's no escape
LYRICS:
I've been roaming around
Always looking down at all I see
Painted faces, fill the places I can't reach
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you, and all you know, and how you speak
Countless lovers under cover of the street
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you
Off in the night, while you live it up, I'm off to sleep
Waging wars to shape the poet and the beat
I hope it's gonna make you notice
I hope it's gonna make you notice
Someone like me
Someone like me
Someone like me, somebody
I'm ready now [4x]
Someone like you, somebody [3x]

I've been looking for this comment forever. Thanks

I nearly broke my Iliac laughing
More then just a song. Brings back memories to the good times in life. Took them for granted.
Oh how I can relate to that comment so much! Never realize how quickly life can change... blink of an eye!
:'(
alas i 2nd that.
La soledad y está canción es el dúo perfecto para salir adelante , te amo rola espectacular ❤
No matter what u goin' thru rn, u can overcome it.
Sounds great not true
@@desstewart9555 You are not wrong, but I believe you should ACT as if it were. (Do or die fighting - this way, by the time you find out "it" actually can't be overcome you will already be dead and it will not matter anymore.)
I just did overcome some of my demons inside of me today. So proud. You are the change you want in your life. So dream big and believe in yourself. You are worth it!
❤
Thank you need that
Que sensação de nostalgia dos bons tempos que se foram e ficam na memória

Man I finally saw it. I was in Poland in 2009 when it turned out the director of this video was staying at the same Hostel I was at. He mentioned it, didn't brag. Kings of Leon always stood out as a band I needed to check out but I just had my preferences.
Alguém que ainda curte esse som maravilhoso ? 💙😍
E esse "ainda" será por muito tempo!
Eu e vc e milhões bom dia.

Time is so unforgiving. I was 12 when this came out and now im about to be 28 with a wife👍🏻 brings back all the childhood memories when life was much simpler. Enjoy all the great moments in life, time flies in the blink of an eye
I was 30 😭
34♥️♥️♥️ We're blessed to still be here!!🥰@@jasmineredley5577
😂 I'm sixty-four & here I am. I have sons in their 30's. Good music is simply that..good music.
Time only flies when we mature and reach adulthood, reasons why life felt so long when we were young is because we didn’t take into consideration and the fact we didn’t truly understand time, now when we’re older, we understand the concept of time and when we do that time just then seems to fly by!
You and I are the same age lol
It’s
Middle of October 2024 listening❤️💕❤️💕
Just 130M... This music deserves at least like 500M
Update: 285M, still far from the 500M xD
It's more beautiful bc it's not mainstream, enjoy it for what it is, not for who else sees it
+Juan Hernandez Jr This song isn't mainstream...ha. Try my taste in music
Go on. Link me a playlist of your favourite songs.
This song is not mainstream... hahah. It was one of the biggest hits of 2009 around the world. 130 million view is actually good for a song released 8 years ago.
Just 130M???? I think 1M is already a lot
Damn, I could sit alone and listen to this song with countless thoughts running through my mind. Makes me miss the easy days before life got so stressful and lonely. Before I learned and experienced stress/depression. Cherish your childhood.
I feel you bro. Hope things look up for u soon.

zigotina Well most Taylor Swift songs have much more than thid
This was the first song of theirs I had ever heard. 10 years later, and I’m an adult with their lyrics tattooed on my body, and my home is filled with pictures taken at their shows. No band makes me feel as good as they do. I love my KOL.
What lyrics?
I actually have a pair of red lips that say “Charmer” underneath, “Aha Shake” written on a broken heart - both on my forearm, and “Holy Roller Novocain” on my shin!
Elizabeth Hope they can make no bad song
Que hermoso es volver a este lugar y ver tu like que dejaste cuando eras joven y seguir disfrutando de la buena música ❤🎵

One of best radio hits on a long drive back then
this song makes me feel happy and sad at the same time, that's because it reminds me myself at the age of 10,when everything was ok..and that hurts
I'm the opposite. I'm glad I'm not 10 anymore ... I was a mopey asshole when I was 10
Samuel Wallace Same,I think i've grown to the good

Same here but from Illinois. Came here to make sure my daughter heard this song. Good ass song
I miss these days
Bringing back memories ❤️
I had a friend's father took us on Fishing Trips and Football trips, every single early morning we used to listen to Kings of Leon every single time we were driving there, and he used to sing at the top of his lungs all of the songs. I genuinely loved it, he brought such positive energy. He even helped me catch my first ever fish and a few years ago whilst in his late 30s he had passed away, in which I saw him in his back garden in the sun tanning a few weeks before he had passed. I feel like listening to this just brings back memories :)

2000's were the best for music
ikr
Lol I was born in the 80's and grew up in the 90's. I'm a 90's kid. The 90's and early 2000's had the best music. I guess you're the next generation of kids so you think the 2000's had the best music but you're missing out. 80's had some really good music too. Altho I love this song and 2000's music 90's is always the best for me.
Nope
+leonkennedy1259 technically you're an 80s kid
+CSC not really, if you're born in 1999 you're hardly a 90's kid when all you did was piss and shit
This song reminds me of so much pain in my life, yet it also reminds me of so much joy...
We don’t search for old songs…
we search for old memories.
It’s funny how day by day nothing changes
but when you look back everything is different
Decades later people will realize the depth
of this line…..
Are these your words and if so may I qoute you?
I often search for old songs but I appreciate the sentiment.
So true we search for old memories .Some not happy ,but love this song full of good memories ❤
He makes loneliness seem so beautiful yet bittersweet at the same time.
