Great tune! Can't say how much I love this and you ,mr.z. Can't believe it took me this long to find this. Let's go wimbly wombly fishing again sometime soon. Gots lotsa stories for ya. Yer old pal K. Bignotti.
Awesome song, I've never heard it before but you played the hell out of that dulcimer. I haven't thought of the Rifle River in several years... we used to go camping along the river all the time as a kid.
Thanks for uploading this. As a boy I used to watch the old Michigan Outdoors show with my grandfather back when this song was the opening music. I'm now 50 and he is long gone many years ago now. But the music brings back his memory clear as day. Thank you
Thank you for taking that break from fly fishing…beautiful. I’m sitting along the St. Clair river by the Blue Water Bridge with lines in the water, it gives a good ambiance while sitting here.
Great memories sitting in the livingroom with my Father, & brother, waiting to see what hunting & fishing adventures awaited. Pure Nostalgia! My Father is gone, Fred trost & the show is gone. I now try to watch our current out of doors show, hoping that it will help instill same love & respect for the outdoors of michigan for my son. Of course we go out and expirence it ourselves through hunting, fishing, exploring etc. Great job on the song sir!!
As always you are a true Michigan Troubadour. Do you ever play Irish songs anymore? Also can I find them on here? Still have a beautiful voice Alan.. Stay blessed always. Annie xoxo
this should be the anthem of Michigan.

Totally reminds me of my grandfather. Going up north with him when I was a boy.
I can still hear Fred: "It's Thursday night, time for Michigan Outdoors!"
I’m glad someone downloaded these old episodes. Reminds me of going up north with my grandfather and enjoying the outdoors in Michigan.

I just noticed he's sitting infront of the state tree.
