A well built pawn.
Very nice.

When the Dragon starts Dogmaing
" _The ramblings of a madman make for tedious listening._ "
Dragon/Grigori, Dragon's Dogma.
That's what made the first game so awesome. The Dragon was a TRUE Dragon: not just a beast in itself, but he actually played out The Dragon trope in earnest. And he was so well-articulated and eloquent too!
Dragon's Dogma is all-around AWESOME from beginning to end!
Never played Dragon's Dogma because I've never been super into D&D type stuff, but the fact that you can have a conversation with a dragon is pretty cool. Makes me wonder if there's a way you can team up with him? Maybe coerce him into surrendering so you can "beat him" without fighting him?
I'm EXTREMELY ignorant when it comes to Dragon's Dogma.
I prefer first Game dragon dub too much thy bullshit
@@rafapanzer3276 Thou thee thy thine thy thy THYYYYYYYYYY
@@iraqifoodcart8447 he gives you a choice to let him kill the NPC that you've interacted with the most and he'll leave or fight him
Fatalis > Grigori, gameplay and lore wise. Fatty is a Dragon that succeeded in bringing about ultimate calamity to an entire nation.
He truly was the dragons dogma, too.
Pains me to say, but this dragon fight is nothing when compared to Grigoori. They're both well articulated, they both make you feel the gravity of the situation, but Grigoori really brought the POWER. This dragon was just kind of....a dragon. He didn't feel like the end of days, like Grigoori did.
genuinely speaking i think the difference with how this one approaches the arisen vs grigori's approach might be intentional. you're right with how this one doesn't just go armageddon mode like grigori, being a tad more reserved than them, and as i hear this current dragon's words, them speaking of how everything was already planned for him and the arisen, it feels like they're so aware of their role in this fight so much that it just... comes off them going through the motions. they're playing their part like so, having sort of gone partially numb after knowing the cycle they've been made part of, which is why they aren't putting in the level of effort grigori did... this dragon in DD2 seems like he's just trying to get it done and over with so he can move on and see what happens next.
"He didn't feel like the end of days, like Grigoori did."
He did a whole monologue about choices, consequences, and the weight of being the arisen. He's basically warning the Arisen to not try to use the Godsbane or the world will be in shambles (which is the true ending, where in the end, if you can't do everything in time, he comes back and says "told you").
@ricardovidal9098 It definitely felt like this version of the Dragon is just...tired. When we kill him, he's just kind of like "Oof...argh...you got me". Just like the previous game, we needed to do something to break this needless cycle. The whole world is just a form of entertainment for a being who isn't even listening. And we got sick of it.
This dragon (a former Arisen too) probably weaker than Grigori 😂
I get what you mean. The first playthrough of the Dragon's Dogma when you fight the dragon feels epic. You're running through the fortress, you're dodging dragon fire, you're on his back in the air, then you're reunited with your pawns for the final fight. Good stuff.
When you are flying to the final Boss on the Dragons Back you hear a heartbeat. It means you should climb to its Heart and use the "special" Blade from Ambrosios. Then you will get the "true Ending" and more Story content etc.
I made the mistake of doing that. I’d much rather have just beat the dragon bc it got really confusing. Now I can’t even go back to just fight the dragon
@aminsadek2942 yeah unfortunately you're stuck like that until the game forces you into ng+ or you beat the true ending and go to ng+ manually next time you can judt kill the dragon then talk to the blue guy and he sends you back to refight him where you can go to the true ending
It doesn't let me use it.
@@derekmorris89 Yeah, same. I tried to use it on myself and ended upp in something like hell and then the game crashed.
I don't feel like fighting that annoying boss a third time.
Turns out it was just the dragons dogma we met along the way my guise.
So this is basically the first game fight but better looking, just without the intense build-up of being chased and eventually bringing Grigori down to fight him for real.
Here he just says hop on let's go fight.
Ye. Quite anticlimactic.

You know the dragon isnt the villains. Its humanity and the human that dwell in the game.
Even Godzilla started off the same way Dragon’s Dogma did in the 60s. Humanity was the destruction brought upon the world and Godzilla was there to cleanse the evils of humanity.
But that is looking at things in black and white, like in Godzilla Minus One. Legendary is showing that Godzilla can work with both monsters and humans, but humans are the mercy of their own will plus the monsters older than human civilization that wants to rule over all of earth.
@callibor3119 absolutely true ^^
Woow so original…human bad
Not really the whole point of the game is that everyone and everything is caught up in a cycle that nobody can break free from
How original...
Man i spoke to that damn ghost dude and almost had to fight the dragon again
you get the true ending by using the godsway sword on yourself while the dragon is flying, that takes you too the unmoored world and the actual ending of the game
This is only beginnig :) Hole in the land will open, many creatures will be slayn by Arisen, Arisen will fight nother Arisen, who is current god of time loop, Arise either will fail and becomes new dragon or will win and beocme a god, and later suicide to break the cycle, and pawn shall become new Arisen. And all of this drama have one reason: in order to evolve, people must suffer, monsters will increase people`s will to live, so, some people must die in horrible agony to "awaken" other`s willpower or understand their sins. And such cycle is eternal until god kills himself/herself. Very depressing phylosophy, but this is Dragon`s dogma, nothing changed since 2012.
But… we’re not getting that this time around it seems? No world of darkness, no Everfall, no seneschal fight

What franchise did you think you were playing? How could anyone be surprised by this
damn that dragon seemed tired. I wonder how long he had to wait until we offed him.
Anyone else fight the dragon like 6-10 times before realizing what to do to progress the story?
I just killed him once and he stayed dead, like in the video 😅
I find it funny that they use many dragon animations in Dragons Dogma 1 & 2 from elder dragons in the Monster Hunter franchise. the dragon here uses the fatalis roar animation lol
Y’all do realize this isn’t the ending right, well the true ending atleast
what level should you be for the boss?
This dragon has no will to fight. They'd be better off settling their differences over a game of golf. He'll look at his opponent, then shoot fire elsewhere. Cool enemy design tho...all the ones I've seen so far.
Question:
What happens when you decide, not to fight the dragon, because I’m level 33. I guess i will die as soon as I get into the fight. Can I go back and do some leveling and come back after that ?
Yeah bro you’re good
Like the 1st game, character go back and become the sad king. Then you can reload the game on the way before the event room, and you can go back to level.
Is absolut epic. This is propably a truu boss fight scene, whele i see. It not more a wotr. :D Nice video.
They really got a character named Waifu
You missed the WHOLE POINT!!
Don't forget to talk to that jedi ghost boyo to the left of the throne.
i'm here to watch the fight choreography since i just literally one shot the dragon once it's heart became vulnerable.

6:04 Best moment
The last boss looks awesome. The end of the game and story are amazing. Too bad there isn't more after this, atleast replaying exists.
There is so much more that happens. This is not the true ending.
You missed the true end game if you think this is all there is.
Do you lock yourself out of the true endgame if you finish this fight without initiating the true ending??? i want to do both i want to fight the dragon and still go to the "true ending"

Probably because it's a new arisen entirely.Every dragon ain't the same guy.
@@bearandthebull2372 the dragon is probably voiced by the same guy who voiced Grigori, he may changed his tone a bit or it just because of his age
Every iteration of the Dragon is a different Arisen who failed to kill the Seneschal. Grigori's predecessor was actually even a woman, Grette. She's the former mentor and lover of Ashe, AKA Daimon.
Hell, *WE* become the Dragon if we fail the final phase against the Seneschal.

Can anyone tell me what the reward is for killing the dragon? Do you receive gold or Wyrmslife Crystal?
So no giant pit this time that leads to godhood?
Most likely they left this for expansion. There will be some meta-level layer added I bet.
Made me dissapointed tbh. I always used to rush to the endgame in DD1 since all the fun enemies were in one place. Now the endgame just has you backtrack the whole map with 1 new enemy type (Gorechimera). I hope they do a Dark Arisen type expansion to make the combat experience tighter.
@@duckchen2676 You can encounter Gorechimeras even before the bossfight, nothing past the dragon fight is new
@@JeffSneedstein No the beacon bosses are entirely new enemy types.
@@gfridge The only "True" new boss is the Snake Dragon, yes, the second beacon is just a reskinned infected dragon and third beacon is not even a boss fight, just a horde of saurians and goblins attacking BakBathal, the content is still inferior compared to DD1
Grigori looks a little bit demonic in this game.
Anyone else kind of stumbeled into the ending without realising it WAS the ending? I have a thick grocerylist of missions I gotta do in new game plus that I never touched in my first playthrough. Feels ok though, I did down that big bastard of a dragon without being remotely prepared for it. Good times. 😎

Only one phase? That’s disappointing. Was hoping for multiple phases like the first game. And what no Seneschal this time?
No seneschal?
Upcoming DLC probably
Bro. I was thinking this is a big game. But at 20 hours and level 30 somehow i am at the part where i need to kill that dragon. Why so early. Did i do something wrong? Am not even doin damage to it. It will takes hours to kill that thing. Wtf do i do.
What weapon is he using?
It’s weird that this guy doesn’t even have a name but the other dragon was named Grigori.
because the story is not that deep
i guess we need wait for the DLC since the first game DLC makes the game more bigger in terms of lore
and i hope we got New ending within DLC
I hate that the pants didn't rift in behind you
This game is like a reboot taking several steps forward in some ways and several steps back in others.
Less weapon skills that can be equipped being one of the many examples. (Which is stupid)
But here for some reason the dragon doesn't even move its mouth when talking. Which he did in the first game.
This game is glorified by too many. It's a fun game and good in so many ways.
But considering it's made 12 years after the first, it's just not that impressive. Only in terms of graphics.
Bro anyone who played DD1 and says DD2 is as good or better is definitely on some copium or they're lying out their ass. Several steps forward? More like one step forward and ten steps back.
Question is... When will we fight the seneschal?
So even the final battle is a stretched out walking simulator. And I thought the combats against ogers/cyclops/manticors and all that ilk were boring. I expected a little more from the final boss.
Walking around, reviving pawns and on occassion smash a button until it's dead. Yawn.
The dragon at least looks decent. They nailed that.
Sorry, this not the real final boss.
No everfall? No God? Getting rid of my favorite vocations? I really kind of hate this game and it breaks my heart.

Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen has my favorite boss fight of all time. Dragon's Dogma 2's boss fight is a joke.
Firstly that is a very anticlimactic way to end the False Arisen plot. All that just so you can fight him like some random bandit. No fanfare, nothing.
Secondly the dragon fight is exactly the same as the first game but they removed all the exciting parts.

There’s no Seneschal boss fight in DD2.
@@_CetarialNot yet. The first game had the Dark Arisen expansion, where we had a second game to explore. Besides, it would be so disappointing if this game didn't have an equivalent to Daimon or the Seneschal later down the line.

It's not as cool.
Have to admit that I didn't like the dragon fight and "ending" at all. No romance scene, almost no one acknowledges what's going on afterwards, there wasn't much build-up for the dragon and not really a personal connection. Idk, the dialogues have always been scarce, but imo they should be more impactful. In DD1 it felt like a personal grudge, you wanted to slay him and reclaim the heart, everyone was talking about the dragon threat. Here he NEVER appears, almost no one cares or talks about him. I continued the story because I expected him to show up near the end and do something crazy, like straight up destroy one of the kingdoms because some ingame texts implied that. But nope. He just appears for the first time on the tower. No real challenge. No connection, very short dialogue unpersonal.
:/
I think the forced rehashing of the same story for the sake of it could be what they were going for, since they make a bigger deal of breaking the cycle and freeing all the character's actions that are bound to it in this game. They're all just playing their roles without putting much thought into it anymore. So when it seems like you and the Dragon should have more reason to fight each other, it's because they should. They are trapped to make the same decisions out of their control. But more likely I'm just making excuses in my head to save this story, they really could have done it so much better if that's what they were going for. People who never played DD1 would be so confused here.
Putting all the story stuff aside - IMO the dragon's role in DD2 is too much of a mess to bother, too undecided between being an obligatory DD1 callback or doing its own thing (getting a new voice actor to.... do a David Lodge impression! come on) - the fight itself is also a huge downgrade. Grigori wasn't a very hard fight, since he also didn't do too much damage, but he was very mobile, always actively targeted you and your pawns with contextual reactions depending on what you were trying to do, and could send you flying from pretty much every direction when you tried to approach him, so even if you weren't in risk of dying, fighting him was a constant struggle, and maybe attrition could even wear you down if you kept messing up. The DD2 dragon barely moves and spends 90% of the time either targeting a ghost right in front of him or just flying mEnAciNGLy.
I have come here since the Reddit hive-mind finds this anticlimatic. I quite frankly don't see the problem here. The hulking Talos added that same intensity as the DD1 fight to bring the Dragon down. I'm seriously not getting this criticism
I guess you never played DD1. I can't fathom how someone who fought Grigori would find this to be anything but anticlimactic at best.
@neamraven I did and I can say it was not as good but they did add the Talos and I was satisfied with the Dragon. I'm not a picky person. I can still love the game and acknowledge DD1 is better than but doesn't dwarf DD2
Shit ending, i Never though i will hate ending my game like this
