    That Kray-ex is really good stuff. I've had 2 Cold Steel knives with Kray-ex handles I bought in 1995 and have used since then. Literally 27 years of use and the Kray-ex holds up just fine when used in an un-gloved hand. My Cold Steel knives are the longest relationship I've ever had beside my Craftsman framing hammer that my dad bought me 30 years ago.

    I got the shorter Urban Edge, and love it. Thing about push daggers is it’s functionality even if the wielder has the most basic knowledge of punching. You don’t necessarily have to learn an entirely new system of fighting to use it.

      Totally agree... personally I do more of kali but since the purchase of this blade been learning basic boxing in the gym. Training helps and it's a workout so..

    I have the safe maker 2 and the serrated urban edge. The size of this one was what got my attention too! I really like it. I like all three. They're all, BADASS BLADES!!! Great video btw!

    I still prefer the safemaker 2 as a carry option. Its the right size in my opinion. This is more of a back pack carry or boot carry size for me.
    Also I made a paracord rig and took off the clip to make it more concealed on my belt in a horizontal position.

    • @TheIronwil
      @TheIronwil 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A perfectly respectable size, bu I think it comes down to a few things, including preference. I don't need an overly long blade, but for tactical use I prefer 4-5 inches. No more than that for EDC, because it must be concealable and comfortable. I bought a new tanto fixed blade last month, and while it's a spectacular knife (Cold Steel Tanto San Mai III), the blade length is 7.5 inches, so it's a bear to conceal in summer months where I live. But I like 4+ inch blades so I can reach internal organs.

    • @TheIronwil
      @TheIronwil ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Michaelofficial2214 Probably not. I wouldn’t advise it in any case. I’ve since refined my position on blade length, and now I prefer blades between 3.3 and 4 inches. I have collected several high-quality folding knives good for tactical use.

    • @TheIronwil
      @TheIronwil ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Michaelofficial2214 Wild hogs are no joke. Trying to take one on with a push dagger would be likely to yield catastrophic results. Also, if I felt the need to kill something to eat, I’d prefer to kill it as quickly and with as little pain as possible.

    I have daily carried one of this models for the last two years. I use it in the lower right side of mi back, I feel this way more comfortable. During jabbing I prefer use it between the knucles of my index and major fingers. I think that the product is the best in front of the other brands. Also is the most expensive, at least in Argentina.

    Mine just came today and although I like the knife I don’t like the sheath. It doesn’t have the full belt loop option. There’s a 1 1/2” Ulti-Clip. Not very user friendly. I’ll have to find another option before I can add it to my EDC set up.

    • @jaggededgecustom376

    Awesome video, this really helped me out a bunch because I'm having some carry issues with my safemaker 2.

  • @TheIronwil
    @TheIronwil 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Drawing it is no issue. There's a lot of resistance compared to other sheaths I've seen, so it takes a solid pull to release. This is probably why it doesn't rattle like my other push dagger. Drawing it is no trial though, and not a danger in cutting myself. Putting it back in certainly IS dangerous if not done carefully, so I always guide it in carefully. It came razor sharp, so that could be bad. But I'm not really concerned about sheathing it swiftly - drawing speed is important, but not so much the other way. As for the clearance, it would adversely impact the concealability due to greater length for more clearance, so I'm OK with that.

    I have carried one of these IWB for almost 2 years. Only problem is the sheath is made of such hard plastic it dulls the blade if you bump the sides when drawing or replacing the dagger. Not bad for the price.

  • @assortedvendor5168
    @assortedvendor5168 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yes it is worth it, IF you know how to use a knife in Combat for Self Defense! The advantage of that thing is that knife is really hard to disarm it whoever wields it, I mean if I want to disarm someone who is wielding a cold steel Push Dagger I'm gonna have to use my 7-1/2 inch Tanto Knife to cut his arm. Or perhaps the karambit will do just fine in a knife fight

  • @michaelschaffer9165
    @michaelschaffer9165 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The blade shape being flat on the back side creates a single bevel edge. These are very easily sharpened. Just a slight bevel on the flat side and you have a hair popping edge.

    The belt clip on that blade sucks. It only goes onto very thin belts. Gun belts are thicker. I removed that clip and sawed off the bracket for it. Then it's easy to mount on the belt with cable ties or whatever you like.
