    Love the explanation and backs up how I imagined how dynamic and specifically meaningful the title can be

      Hey there! Thanks for watching! For TV the EP have a lot of creative power. I have noticed that they have more pull when it comes to TV

      @@BeyondFilmSchool Thanks! Does that mean they're on set all the time during production like a producer? Or are they just involved in development and pre-production? Still trying to wrap my head around the differences and what they actually do!

      Yes EPs hang on set a lot while shooting!

      @@BeyondFilmSchool because you " Clearly " know what you are talking about. Its also and indication of the mental pace you need to have in order to communicate with those in the industry. I always wanted to do a film and based on what you have said I know where I would fit in the process but how many players have to be involved .. Thank you so much for the road map. !!!

    I need to know how much percentage of the movie should I offer to investors with me in my indie movie

    • @BeyondFilmSchool
      @BeyondFilmSchool  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no set answer for this, because it can be negotiated. And there will some back and forth till you come to an agreement. Some offer half a point to start.
      Some offer a couple points depending on the size of investment.

    • @yary29
      @yary29 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BeyondFilmSchool let say it 50k , which is the 25% of my total budget, that makes a co executive producer, how much should i give up... 10% of profits?

    • @BeyondFilmSchool
      @BeyondFilmSchool  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a huge chunk to commit to. I'd start way lower

    Great. Difference between ex producer and sponsor?

    • @BeyondFilmSchool
      @BeyondFilmSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sponsors usually are tied to a product of some sort. And have say on how the product can be presented in whatever project they're sponsoring.

    Thanks girl.. i always wanted to know what does selena gomez do exactly as an executive producer in 13 reasons why

    • @BeyondFilmSchool
      @BeyondFilmSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure exactly as I've not worked on that set.
      But she can have certain say creatively. Or she could just be someone who backs the show financially.

    What about a creative producer?

    • @BeyondFilmSchool
      @BeyondFilmSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment! I do get this a lot and I'm gonna be honest it's not something i encounter a lot in narrative filmmaking where i primarily work. Bc all producers outside of the line producer have creative say.

    What are the main key role of executive producer

  • @06969690
    @06969690 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    They should say what each ep is credit doing but they won’t. For example there are six or seven ep for the recent joker movie. I like to know what work each one did? On all the marvel movies, you will see stan lee name as ep even after he’s dead. It seems the most important roles are the producers and the director only.

    • @BeyondFilmSchool
      @BeyondFilmSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well i wouldn't say the producers and the Director are the only important roles on a film...

    Can a independent EP also get a deal with a Studio or a co-production company for financial backing?

    • @thephilosopher7173
      @thephilosopher7173 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I imagine at that point they wouldn't be independent anymore, and would basically be under the control of the studio (therefore hired by the studio).

    • @BeyondFilmSchool
      @BeyondFilmSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could be zero if they're just an investor could be thousands if the show or movie is doing well. Depends

  • @seizethedaystudios2058
    @seizethedaystudios2058 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Executive Producers have no creative say or control over the film. That is the producers job. The EP also does not hire any cast or crew

    • @BeyondFilmSchool
      @BeyondFilmSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not in every case.

    • @BeyondFilmSchool

      On many things I've worked on I've seen EPs pull rank to get their creative idea implemented. It happens a lot on big union shows here.

      The industry is so small here unless there is s private investor who puts in a decent amount then we don't really have to worry about that title. We have no studios here in Perth
