Claire yeah definitely! It’s really overwhelming to start with, it takes a lot of time but once you’ve done it for a while it’s honestly like second nature
I’ve made enquires for dental nursing at my college however I want to mental health nursing which I know is completely different but I’m hoping there’s some way I could move onto that sector instead of staying in dental once I finish well that depends if I apply for it
HI Charly, I came out of Dental Nursing almost 8yrs ago. I am hoping to get back into it but need to do 150 hrs cpd as I didn't keep them up. Do you have any websites you can recommend and any tips or tricks how to log the non verifiable ones. Thanks.
Sarah Mchugh hey! From what I know you have to log everything on the GDC website....but they scrapped non verafiable as of this year so maybe give them a ring and just check that you still have to do non verafiable
Hey :) I have covered in videos before but I didn’t actually interview for my job I just got super lucky! So I’m not sure on the questions that they would ask you x
I'm a dental nurse trainee hoping to qualify this summer. Why did you change practice once you qualified? Couldn't they pay you a registered nurse's wage there? I jear a lot of people change practices once they qualify... Also I heard some general cleaners get the same or more pay than us dental Nurses, why do you think that is?
khamisha admani hey :) it wasn’t anything to do with pay it was because I didn’t like that practice I was with so I moved. And I don’t know about cleaners pay I’ve never heard of that before?
@@CharlysLife oh I see, Yh a lot of people I know qualify and leave their practice 😂 yh some cleaners get payed £10 an hour! Insane! But hat won't stop me from completing this course still I'm at the end anyway! Haha great content btw 😊
What do you think you will do next after dental nursing? Will you move onto dental hygiene/therapy or something totally different? (Loved this video by the way 😊) Xx
Jade M hey thanks so much!! I really don’t know to be honest my friend has gone on to do therapy but I don’t think it’s a road I’m going to go down only because I couldn’t inflict pain onto someone! I couldn’t give an injection I don’t think so I probably won’t stay in dentistry once I leave my practice xx
I think a health care assistant will get paid more than a dental nurse. So unfair. Working for a private hospital i earn £13.33 /hour and wih agency £16-£18
Yeah I’m pretty sure they do. I’m on a really low wage for a dental nurse, everyone I know who is furloughed (obviously in other jobs) earn more than me on 80% wages 😂 it’s so not worth it anymore. This pandemic has really shown how rude and disrespectful people can be towards dental staff
Dina GuRuNg it was okay but kind of boring, you just sat and watched a PowerPoint and then had to complete a workbook on it, practical work was much more interesting or certain topics were good in college like the muscles and bones in the head that was really interesting to learn :)
Dina GuRuNg so I didn’t go to college and choose dental nursing, I decided to become a dental nurse and because of the qualification you need I had to go to college 1 night a week to get it. I just sort of fell into the job, it was offered to me and I took it, then college starts after you are already working in the job
Thank you for your video! Its really helpful for me as im starting my dental nursing apprenticeship soon xx
Mackenzie Olden x ah thank you for watching!! Glad it was helpful!! Xx
Mackenzie Olden x I’m hopefully getting an apprenticeship to become a dental nurse after college how are you finding it? x
Hey what type of questions did they ask during the interview
I am looking into dental nursing as a change of career as I am currently at uni! Thanks for this x
Mary Mills hey no problem! Glad it helped!! X
Hi Charlie could you please tell me if the tattoos are acceptable as I have a 4 inches anchor on one of my wrists? Thx xx
Did you ever feel you wouldn’t learn everything? I’ve just started and I feel really overwhelmed atm!
Claire yeah definitely! It’s really overwhelming to start with, it takes a lot of time but once you’ve done it for a while it’s honestly like second nature
CharlysLife thank you!
Really needed to hear that 😂 how long did you take until you felt confident?
Claire about 3-6 months before I actually felt like I knew what I was doing x
How's it going for you Claire ? Are you still nursing ?
I’ve made enquires for dental nursing at my college however I want to mental health nursing which I know is completely different but I’m hoping there’s some way I could move onto that sector instead of staying in dental once I finish well that depends if I apply for it
Hey! I don’t know about mental health nursing as I haven’t done it but I’m sure there will be some way of changing :)
Thanks for your video. It helped and I got hired in a Dental practice in Poole, what a coincidence 🥰
Ah awesome!! x
I’m an apprentice and I earn £8.72 currently! I love your videos btw
Hey I was wondering what type of questions they asked during the interview

@@CharlysLife We are taught in school that topical gel is used so the injection isn't painful, is this not true?
Abdillahi Ibrahim if the patient requests topical gel then they can have it :) if they don’t then injections are usually done without
