    • @flightsimflyboy
      @flightsimflyboy  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Pretty much just keep up with the routine maintenance with the recommended time intervals listed in the owners manual, and using recommended fluid viscosities/weights. Almost all of my cars mileage is highway and backroads, so it’s pretty easy on the engine.

  • @sluvage9187

    This is amazing
    I too own a Fujiwara Tofu style BRZ (American Domestic style, I took off the right side sticker because its left hand drive) I'm the 1st owner. I bought the 2020 model as my first car. This video has given myself a tremendous amount of faith for the longevity of daily driving it all year round here in Alberta Canada. I am just sitting over 24400 KM. I have an Injen Evo2001 intake mod, muffler delete, and Lower aero mods (front lip, side skirts, rear apron and diffuser. I am keeping it stock ECU for the sake of longevity as I plan on keeping it running forever (if possible). These cars are amazing and I hope to see more updates from you ^-^

    • @flightsimflyboy
      @flightsimflyboy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      These are very good cars and are lots of fun to drive. With good maintenance practices, they are very reliable and will last a long time. I plan on making another video with my next oil change, as I’ll be reviewing the new Fumoto oil quick drain and a brake master cylinder brace I installed; as well as planning on taking an oil analysis sample at the same time. I’ll also be replacing the spark plugs during the oil change.

    • @Zaymusicofficial1
      @Zaymusicofficial1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Me too bro how much hp are u pushing w the intake? I was thinking ab buying injen

    • @flightsimflyboy
      @flightsimflyboy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I haven’t had my car on a dyno yet, but I would assume that with the K&N filter and the inlet tube, it may be just a couple of hp over stock. Intakes alone don’t really add much unless you get tuned for it. Your best bet would be to keep the stock intake system and just replace the air filter with a performance filter, as the stock airbox is already a cold air style by design, as the snorkel sits in front of the engine just behind the front bumper.

    • @flightsimflyboy
      @flightsimflyboy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes, I’ll usually go to 4k rpm’s or higher to accelerate to highway speeds, or will downshift a gear to stay in the torque range. The only way you’ll really risk any harm to the engine is if you stay up near redline for any extended amount of time, or if the oil temps get high and thin out the oil.

    Are you tuned? I’m thinking the tunes are what cause people to blow up their engine before 150k miles

    • @flightsimflyboy
      @flightsimflyboy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I’m currently not tuned, but I may look into it when it comes time to replace the header (still running the factory header). I pretty much have only been disconnecting the battery when I do any upgrades or a major service item so that the ECU can sort of “refresh” itself.

    • @Flunoir
      @Flunoir 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@flightsimflyboy maybe the torque dip is there for reliability purposes 😭😭

    • @flightsimflyboy
      @flightsimflyboy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Flunoir I think the torque dip is more for emissions purposes, but I also like to think that it does help by keeping the engine from revving too quickly and causing traction loss. I think that’s where a lot of people crash their cars by adding a lot of power and torque, and not being able to handle it.
