- Playing tall in Victoria 3 or Victoria 3 playing tall is apparently ideal so today I decided to try out Victoria 3 Siam in order to secure as many tributaries, vassals and puppets without declaring any wars. This takes us all the way to a great power status as we grow our economy and dominate the Victoria 3 Qing. Victoria 3 china is nothing to the might of the SIAMESE EMPIRE!

Although clickbait, there can be truth to it since whatever country the player is playing can wind up being the most powerful if the player is good enough. But yeah, it's kind of whack.

I've discovered the trick to get rid of the landowners super fast. Trigger corn laws by taxing exported grain. There's an event that makes the landowners pro market allowing you to rush through a few laws to get rid of their support.
If only you were the one to discover that... as if we 3 didnt make a vid about it yesterday lol

Have you ever considered doing an "8 to great" campaign, where you take the 8th largest GDP to the rank 1 then tag switch and repeat? It was a great idea done in EU4 and I think it might be possible within victoria 3 which would be an interesting video series. It's always fun seeing the AI mess up your success and you competing with the countries you built up. Also, since the AI are pretty bad at building their economies, this would make the overall economy do interesting things.

Btw Laith there is a way to check where radicals are coming from, if you go to the top-left radical number and check the tooltip for it it'll say "The number of Radicals increased by "***" since last year" and if you hover over the number it'll tell you where they are coming from... only took me about a 100 hours to figure that one out.

Just had a Siam run and it is painful until you get rid of the landowners and can finally get out of Isolationism. The best strat really is to conquer cambodia, vietnam, brunei etc so you can get access to more pops and more goods, specially sulfur.
Problem with Siam is the lack of natural resources - Coal/Lead/Sulp/Iron when Dai Nam next door and other neighbors got loads of it

Per capita taxation I think adds to turmoil simply because everyone pays the same tax and it drops standard of living of your pops on the lower end of your standard of living
That’s not correct. Per capita taxation represents a regressive tax law. Everybody paying the same rate would be proportional taxation

That should be true but Per Capita Taxation in game also has a small percentage income tax rate so it taxes poor people especially hard.

Historically the strongest SEA nation is Burma. The only problem during 1836 that it was already crippled by long wars with British in the 1820s. Siam are nothing compared to burma those days.

First form Yugoslavia restore old borders from that country then form Danubian state, all while staying monarchy thats the set of rules you must follow.
