I love how this first level is such an obvious nod to Celeste, a fantastic game to pay homage to in such a manner.

It's like someone combined the design finesse of Ross in Super RubberRoss World with the sadism of early Mario Maker 1 Ross troll levels.

That was a brilliantly crafted maze/puzzle level. Reminds me of old Flash games where I had no clue of where to go. Props to the level creator!
Seeing Dave in such pain makes me laugh but also brings me tons of pain as well
Always nice to see a custom autoscroll level that is well done. Definitely an under utilized and underappreciated mechanic in the game, but not that surprising as it's hard to use well.

That first level feels inspired by Celeste, and now I wanna see Dave play Celeste
Beginning from 19:10 is classic and unfiltered DGR skill
I feel like part of the reason DGR so often gets himself into needless unforced error deaths is that he's always thinking ahead to what he needs to do next and not focusing on what he's doing so he never even gets to the next part because he gets careless or forgets how Mario mechanics works and does stuff like eat bombs or go through the wrong door or trap the spring.
I'm glad you managed to beat this one. It was really convoluted.

There are times where I truly believe that you throw for the content (and it's worth it), but you can tell the genuine pain you are in playing that level lol
20:18 This one was completely salvegable... he could have knocked a galoomba into the hole, hopped back on yoshi, bounced on the galoomba while on yoshi and even hit the bullet bill on the way up for an extra boost.

That last level was solid. I grew pretty tired of speedrun levels about two days into MM2, but that looked like a nice refreshing change.
I haven’t watched a video in a while since I’ve been so busy with wedding planning but it’s nice to see everything is the same here

This might be the greatest DGR episode ever.

That SMW level was a bag of everything, lil Timmys, wannabe 4 versus, pick a path, boss battle, etc. Luckily Dave gets the first clear on that. I don't think anyone would wanna try to get world record on that.
This is the best one yet! Lol. I think DBR felt the call of the Frenzied flame at points here.

As much as the 2nd level is really convoluted, they did provide the 3 things you needed to go back in those boxes (Yoshi, the shellmet, the spring), it just took like 10 hours for DGR to realize it
That first level was great, if you ignore the abominable checkpoint placement. Being right at the start, with no way to die prior to it, means that it essentially has no checkpoint at all - just a fake one to mock you.
Thank you for beating that horrid level, even so, still was very fun to watch you doing all this episode!

I think foreboding was the word you were looking going into the first level.
To be fair, if he followed the arrows and used the clues, he could have figured out the level a lot sooner without the help of the level viewer. The creator gave him all the hints he needed.
