Jeff, Love the video! I used your method to the "T" for my unit. It "worked" but not very efficiently. I am using a blower with a directional cone to "shoot" the foam. What i have found is that the coconut oil is very dense and thick as it is run through the machine. It left a rather large igloo of accumulated oil on the lawn. I am going to add some bubbling additivies and delute the coconut solution for further testing. Also, i feel that if my machine was set up for "foaming" rather than "shooting" it mY preform directly. Thanks again for all your hard work!
Great video! What is the shelf life of a completed batch? What is the soap-to-water ratio going into the foam machine? Have you tried making a batch with the sugar that was suggested in an earlier video?
Kyle Elrod unfortunately I haven’t tested the shelf live. From other home made soap recipes I’ve looked at it’s only a-few months in liquid form, if you leave it as a paste it last much longer. Soap to water ratio going into the machine is about 3%. Haven’t been able to try the sugar thing. But will definitely do it next time I make it.
@@Viera95 Will this damage grass? We'll be doing a couple of community events that will have the foam going directly onto the ground. Sending you a FB request so we can communicate a little better if that's ok.
Good video, I have had a foam machine for a good while now. I go to the dollar store and buy a 40 ounce container of laundry detergent and then mix it with a 33 ounce bottle of Palmolive dish soap. Total cost $4.33... it works great. Also tried Dawn but it's not as good.
Have you ever tried just SLS or SLSa (foaming agent in dish soap, shampoo, etc). Is it at all similar to what you've made here? I've thought about just buying powder and adding directly to water.
I did so on a much smaller scale using liquid Ivory soap (back when they sold an actual liquid soap) and food coloring with a Kirby upholstery shampooer attachment. Kids loved getting covered with a succession of colors when the reservoir was empty and I switched to another color or left it plain white. You'd need a lot of dye in a machine his size. Food coloring did transfer to skin, but it came out of clothes easily because it was in soap, if you wash them soon enough.
Hey Jeff, very interesting video. Thanks for showing your process! Can you tell how this compares to normal dish soap in terms of foam volume? I guess your product is cheaper, but does it create more foam or more or less the same?
Dish soap has a solid advantage over my homemade soap both in foam production and cost. The benefit of homemade soap is that it has less chemicals, degreasers and dyes then dish soap and is less likely to cause skin or lung irritation and allergic reactions.
The link for the Potassium Hydroxide needs to be updated. It goes to a seat cushion. I made a batch, works great in my foam machine. the best part is it doesn't smell like anything.
I made this and as it cools it hardens in the jugs. I’m assuming it’s normal? How week does it dilute when I add water to create the larger solution ready to foam?
From Dreams To Journeys humm I’ve seen a-few pieces of soap paste floating around in the soap but haven’t had that happen, adding more water should help. Try just a small amount like 1/2 cup and see if it liquifies. final dilution into the machine to make foam will be around 2 or 3% soap to water.
From Dreams To Journeys Cool let me know how it go’s. I don’t know the exact reason why but sodium hydroxide is used to make solid bar soap and potassium hydroxide is used to make liquid. What ever difference there may be is probably the reason it solidified.
He says about 2 to 3% ratio. So from what I calculate, it appears you put .8 to 1.2 gallons of this finished solution into a 40 gallon tank. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong

Hy jev, good your home made foam canon
Sir jeff what will happen if we put more potassium hydroxide?
Iam made foam machine but not sukses, out from nozle water not foam? What the problem jav?

yep dawn isnt as good what ratio are you using with to water
Are you mixing 40oz and the 33oz to 40gal of water ?
35 gal garbage can I was using.
@@johnnyp301you haven’t had the average person with stinging eyes or irritated skin? What laundry soap is your fav so far
Have you ever tried using crockpot liners? Not sure it would hold up the the stick blender but if you're careful..... Maybe?
No, but I think the soap would get to sticky and tear the liner unfortunately. It would make for fast clean up if it worked
Hello. Is your product safe for eyes and skin? If so, is the purchase from you?
Would you just leave the cookpot on low the whole time? Or you must raise the heat to 1 for 15 mins?
Have you ever tried just SLS or SLSa (foaming agent in dish soap, shampoo, etc). Is it at all similar to what you've made here? I've thought about just buying powder and adding directly to water.
Been looking into it but haven’t tried it my self. If it works that would be cool
Have you tried making the foam colors? If so how

Does this solution mix leave the white residues like the past video that you made? Thanks!
Dennis Shopshear I didn’t notice any when I used it at my event. Can’t guarantee there won’t be any, but nothing like my first test batch.

TheRonmaggi thanks I’ll fix it.
Make a video pleas for testing it.
Thanks you
What is the ratio for mixing the concentrate to 40gal trash cans ?
2% soap to water
I made this and as it cools it hardens in the jugs. I’m assuming it’s normal? How week does it dilute when I add water to create the larger solution ready to foam?

Ok I’ll probably dump it in a bucket to dilute then add water to my container ... hopefully that does the trixk
I also used sodium hydroxide since it’s almost identical and postassium hydroxide I cant find anywhere

That's EXACTLY the reason it solidified. @@Viera95

You should have included wearing gloves in your safety equipment. Nice video
Good call I definitely should be showing best practices in the videos will do for the next one.
Thanks for watching!
Next, call Jessie Pinkman to sell the stuff :P
Nice... bet you wouldn't get FDA approved with those toxic chemicals
