I wonder if you can just use it to keep ice in. And keep a cup that fits your cup holder. Water is easy to find: store, restaurant, vending machines (but it's not always cold). In the US most restaurants give you free water.
I'm a pool technician down here in Tucson, Az. I'll take anything at this point to keep my water cold, to stop me from buying plastic 1 gallon jugs & staying hydrated most importantly. 5 year warranty & that heavy duty materials got me sold.
With all the great things you had to say about this water jug, while still giving it an 8/10, I'm just curious... What does a 10/10 water jug look like to you?
I would love to know how this thing pours. Since there is no vent tube how difficult is it to fill a cup without spilling liquid everywhere. I have one of the competitors of the Yeti and the pour hole is small and filling a cup is a challenge because it "Glugs" when you try to pour. Any feedback on how well it despences a liquid would be helpful
Ok so I just went in my kitchen and did the non scientific “glug” test... I found that even tho it does glug a little. It still pours pretty smooth. I don’t foresee a problem in a truck or on a job site. I give it a pass ✅. Hope that helps!
I have the rtic jug. It definitely glugs if pouring while the spout is at the 6 o'clock position. Put it in the 12 o'clock position and air enters more easily while pouring so it minimizes or eliminates the glug as long as the orifice is not fully covered by water
Your not gonna loose the cap... until you drop the cap lol. The one feature I've always hated about yeti is the fact that they don't make caps or drain plugs with cables or something where it literally can't fall off.
@@poopdoop22 sometimes the vacuum created inside the double walled insulation gives way. No more vacuum = no more insulation = no more keeping your drink cold for long.
I just got the Rambler bottle Magdock cap for my 18 oz. bottle, and I discovered the rubber washer or gasket inside the cap stinks really bad. Does the 1 gallon jug have a rubber washer/gasket in the cap, and if so, does is smell?
My I gallon Yeti rambler . The big lid not the little one has been stuck for months. It sits in my kitchen useless to me .This is the second time it happened. I got a new one now. it happened again.
@@boxiii Thanks for the reply. I'm in need of a larger capacity jug like this one but all of the negative reviews about the lid has held me back. Thanks, I'm definately going to do some more research into them.
That is a smart plan! Definitely do your research and find what fits best for your lifestyle! Remember, people tend to be quick to write negative reviews when something less than satisfactory happens but it is rare when someone goes out of their way when they have a positive experience. Hope I was of some help to you, thanks for watching!
Not gonna lie it is extremely challenging. Not only because of the size, but also lifting a gallon of liquid over your head with one hand while driving can get pretty heavy. Bottom Line, I wouldn't recommend it!
Why would you suggest strapping this jug in a seatbelt and NOT put the seatbelt through the handle? If you sit that on your passenger seat and make a sudden stop, it could become a projectile that kills someone outside of the car! [0_0]
I don’t like that the YETI handle is attached to the cap and not the body of the bottle… I need something to hold on to when I’m filling up my bottle. Also, that handle looks heavy. 👀
The Yeti jug can get pretty heavy being that it does hold a gallon of liquid. That being said I personally do not find it to be difficult to drink from it at all.
This is more common than you might think. The best thing to do is try to get better leverage on the handle while you twist it. I find the best way is to get a second person to help. One of you can hold onto the stainless steel body while the other twists the handle on top and it should come free. Hope that helps!
Great question, to my knowledge they both have equal capacities in various different sizes. At the end of the day, it will just come down to pricing and availability
That is an excellent question! I have tested out both in depth. First and foremost I have to say that both the hydro flask and the yeti are great products! Personally, I do prefer the Yeti mainly due to the handle construction.
Not sure if it's just my location being about 80 - 90° F all,day everyday but my 40 oz Hydro never retains ice in it for even 24 hours...I could put ONLY ice in the bottle and by lunchtime I will have old water inside, not a single ice cube
The trick is to make sure the jug is cold from the start. Try placing the hydro flask in the fridge or freezer the night before and then fill it with ice water in the morning. Otherwise the ice will not last all day. Hope that helps!

For real tho
as a fellow pool technician this was a must have lol was sick of the plastic bottles getting hot after 20 minutes
makes more sense to buy two 64 oz than one massive 128 OZ. Same total price better quality more manageable more flexible ( 1 ice 1 liquid etc etc)

It's the same as the RTIC one gallon jug except that one is only 30$
The only thing is ~ "The Cooler" 1 Gal jug comes w/ a straw so you're not having to lift that 1 gal up and over.

I agree a lifetime warranty would have been great, especially when you consider the price point!
