NIO is the best, this is not even a question, all of these haters out there spreading FUD about this great company, let's go NIO
It is not yet the best. Although I do not like Tesla they are still far ahead tech-wise.
Things NIO should improve asap:
- Improve their in-car software to make the user experience more quiet and peaceful: NOMI is way too intrusive and even when she's disabled the safety ding-dongs are still enormously annoying, there's no other words for it.
- Improve NIO pilot, it's very bad in comparison to Tesla autopilot.
- Improve the charging speed of the cars, as battery swap is still in the margins, at least in Europe. A 100kWh battery should be able to charge 200kW at least. 250kW would be even better. No reason to throttle it down so much, it only benefits the competition.
These things could be fixed purely by software updates. The car's hardware is top notch.
so for an awesome company the stock price $NIO being below IPO is a good thing ? yikes....

Why do you call it PSS?
If the name is Battery Swap Station it should be called BSS.
BFS would be better, Battery FAIL station... this is the perfect example of how to make what people want without checking if its profitable. biggest blunder in modern history. $NIO
Very cool, I can't wait to see further generations of Battery Swap Station. Being these will be permanent fixtures they should put the battery storage underground below the swapping station bay they could have a second bay right beside it within the same footprint. $NIO
It would improve the cost enormously I think to put underground, plus they can't guarantee every site would be able to put underground. How it is now they can standardize it for every location. But yea I agree a smaller footprint would be even better if possible.
@@Eric_Garrison Absolutely! I get that companies just can't go dig wherever they choose, because of cables, wires and existing sewers but the smaller the footprint the more efficient with the space. Just like if I was building a house, I would %1000 have a basement.
Agreed whole heartedly. Multibay swap stations. Batteries either **above** the stations or in ground as for not being able to dig due to obstructions etc, that didn’t stop gas stations from sinking the gas reservoirs to supply typical gas stations, now did it. It’s time and we’ll overdue that NIO comment on multibay swap stations.
Well, the issue in practice is that if you need to dig, then you cannot find any carpark where can lease you a place for the station, especially in urban areas. 😂

Wonder at what point existing 2.0 and 1.0 stations will get upgraded to 3.0... is there a plan in the works for this in the future?
I don' think so with 2.0, as they said they are still installing 100 more 2.0 stations this year in addition to the 900 or so 3.0. In my area it seems 2 of the 1.0 stations have been removed entirely and not replaced as of yet, if ever.

Swap station convenience stores
Also noticed the battery compartment door closes after the battery is removed from under the car, only to reopen when the new battery needs to be hoisted up in place for assembly. Why the closing and reopening. Seems a waste of time and electronics , moving parts Unnecessarily
They said to keep moisture out of the mechanism
What's the cost of changing battery once? Do the Nio's car owner still have warranty of the battery?
In China most users get 4 or 6 swaps per month free aka included in your Battery as a Service cost. Around 1000-1500 RMB per month depending on battery size and when you signed up.
More like 5 mins ;) I really like that you'll be able to leave the car and then the car will park itself! Would love to see that once. I still wonder why the car doesn't drive in in 2 moves? Thx for providing this Videos Eric :)
I mentioned in other comments that asked wrt to parking in one move, I think it is mainly standardization due to constraints on space. They put that little box where you click start auto park directly adjacent to the PSS. If they moved it away even slightly then I'm sure it could easily back in on one move, but they can't guarantee every station has enough space for that, but every station definitely has enough space for one tiny parking lot lane of traffic so that's where it begins... oh well. Not a huge deal imo, adds about 20 seconds, or about the length of time to park at a supercharger on your own, get out, and plug in... meaning the time to begin the "charging" process is essentially the same as supercharging. Then once they both start, this one takes 4 minutes and the other takes 20-30 etc. Overall it's a good improvement I think over 2, and massive over gen 1.

yes a lot of negative revenue, still not profitable and looking at $NIO stock price, soon out of business.
Still only a single bay swap station. Queues will still exist while waiting to swap. Just won’t have to wait a song unless they are , once again , either giving away feee swaps or it’s a holiday season
Or implement them as swaps to gas station sell candy inside as well maybe some Nio slushies

Is the car completely off while swapping in this version as well?
Would be great to still have function in the touchscreen and navigation. So you can already plan or review where you're going next. This should be possible by just keeping the 12V battery functioning.
Apparently from what Mr.P. Has previously stated that in a swap in under 5min or any from battery swapping 3.0 stations. The power remains on & draws power from the regular car battery, so no disruption of the technology.. Just obviously the disruption to being able to move or drive while swapping, obviously. ✔️
The car is off, same as previous versions. Maybe in the future it can stay on but not yet it seems

@@deficator750 just look at the stock price, and think, do i want to buy a car from a chinese company that has potential to go bankrupt. And even though swapping sounds great. Its too expensive and hence the company underperforming.

still to slow, the auto-parking is so slow and clumsy. At least it's unmanned, less cash-burn from that perspective and that leave William Li to through away money somewhere else.

How fast did you expect? It's 20% faster than v2 not 100%. A total of 4 minutes to go from 20% to 90% battery without getting out of the car? I could have also upgraded from a 75kw to a 100kw battery at the same time. Hello future! Sign me up.
