When your phone costs more than your PC
lol
FarhanSharif same
Very common nowadays. Consumers will pay $700+ on a whim for the latest Samsung/Apple, often times because the true cost is hidden behind an added fee to their already pricey monthly service bill. When it comes to computers however (especially desktop computers) many consumers are wary of spending more than $500.
That is weird for you?
I actually had my setup like that but I upgraded my rig. I bought a oneplus 5 for $480, my computer costs like $850 now.

Yeah there is a laptop that has better specs for around the same price by hp
Lenovo's 100 series are pretty decent for budget laptops. The latest one I'd advise against buying currently, but the next version they come out with should be pretty decently spec'd. I mean the current one has some decent specs, 2x USB 3.0, 1x Type-C, 4GB RAM, N4200 Quad core... etc. I believe there might be an 8GB version but good luck finding it.
If they ever put touchscreen on the 100 series I'll be buying it in a heartbeat.

MrHayman12 no u
Honestly this might be kind of nice with 4gb of RAM and some more storage (Maybe 240gb?) For very very basic games and general every day use (Videos, browsing, online banking etc)
smashhawk 2gb is fine for web browsing
Thanks for racking the price from 100 to 250.
Sapphire Destiny There's no need to be hostile, and a 'premium' version that's much more usable would be nice, at that point in would actually buy one... The storage this model has onboard is hardly enough for Windows 10, and not enough for win 10 with updates, 4GB of RAM as opposed to 2GB would make browsing much quicker and would let you play *some* games like flash/browser games (Which it currently can't even touch), and basic steam games such as Prison Architect, Race The Sun, Binding Of Isaac, and potentially even Enter The Gungeon though I'm not sure about that.
Yeah, thats defeating the point of the cheap $100 PC.
I got the same thing but with an older, slower quad core Atom and it can play Race the Sun, up to 3-4 chrome tabs without lag. Web browsing is pretty snappy (given you have 3 or less tabs open) and I have never had any issues space wise with updating Windows and wont in the future. Thats also if you use chrome. If I use a light web browser I can have up to 10 tabs open with load speeds faster or as fast as higher end PCs.
Yes, it can also play browser games just fine. I play a few of those every once and awhile, along with an android emulator.
Sapphire Destiny I've had a lot of trouble with much more than two tabs on a comparable mini PC I bought about a year ago, but results may vary I guess. I've seen Windows 10 with drivers and updates range from 23GB up to 47 (After running CCleaner), though I imagine this thing here has some sort of watered down version of Windows. And it doesn't really 'Defeat the point' if the current model with these specs sticks around, at the same price and a higher end version at a slightly higher price point is added as an option.
When you take this to the coffee shop you should set it up next to the obnoxious guy banging away on his manual typewriter.

ArchGirl right -_- he should of just used the home entertainment concept rather then trying to make it a gaming PC
This would be perfect for someone using something like a Citrix environment or VMware Horizon. This isn’t meant for the consumer market. Thanks a lot for this video because my company is looking into deploying one of these environments.
OfficialLeonLionHeart what is a critix environment?
Virtual Environment, all the computing is done somewhere else, the mini pc would just be remoting into it.
Advantages of this over the cheaper raspberry pi 3?
Printers, drivers, domain logins, etc. Still may be questionable, but it will work.
OfficialLeonLionHeart its true. We have a citrix environment at my work and these would not be horrible for it

@@azprosyx Yeah go find 1tb of ram if you can
But you can buy whole win10 tablet for like 100 bucks from china.
It could be a decent set top box, but the 2GB of RAM kills it. One chrome tab and that's it.
CptHuggyFace there is nothing special about this pc. There are sticks with these specs
Some one makes a bad pc:
Schools: ill take all the stock
So this would be either a Kodi device or a retro emulator gaming cabinet project. But I believe you can get smaller for that purpose alone.
I don't see what is the benefit of running Win10 on a portable device when it has only 2GB of RAM. More RAM and you could use it cars or stick it to the back of monitors and TVs and use wireless controllers. Wear it in your pocket and use AR goggles outside. Go with more power and use it with VR.
Can it maybe used a streaming device like the Shield as it is??
PCs are getting smaller and faster tho. That means more powerful phones, tablets and laptops. And one day we will be lifting the pillows on the couch asking "Honey, have you seen the PC?"
Damn too true 🤔🤔🤔
Seems pretty pointless to spend $100 on this thing as a media device when you can get a Fire Stick, or a Chrome Cast for like $30. Same with emulators, a Raspberry Pi would be a better option. Even if you want to do Steam in home streaming, it doesn't make much sense, since a Steam Link is $50.
An Android streaming box wild be cheaper and faster. This PC is under powered and would be too frustrating to use.
He could be used virtual ram with his ssd
True, a Raspberry Pi should do the trick.
But Can it run 3D Space Cadet Pinball at 60 FPS?

Every time you say guleek I have to think of gulag
just put linux os it will use less memory and hence will provide more performance and comes with most functionality of windows anyways.
That's true. Though with a lot of PCs/Laptops like this the manufacturer will (somehow, I'm trying to figure it out) make it so only Windows will run. It won't even recognize the Linux install files on a USB/CD. I've tried with Ubuntu and Fedora, every time a failure.
Or get a raspberry, would be even better in my opinion
Actually it would be muuuuch slower
It's Linux/GNU
Make sure your installer is UEFI compatible.

This item has been in my recommendations forever.
Oh yeah also on the Amazon page it says it can game at 4k

G-Money I guess you could run Atari 2600 emulators at 4k
Sure, it is worth it if you are planning on installing Linux on it otherwise, no. 2 GB of RAM on a Windows 10 PC is just asking for trouble. If it was at a bare minimum of 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage (I prefer 128 GB) of eMMC memory then sure I can see it as a back up PC when your main fails or something catastrophic happens.
Thanks for the video. I actually have three of them and use them for nice beefy replacements for my raspberry pis and if I need x86 support (for bad print drivers to build print servers for example). Also using them in fixed installations (like my smart home simulator). yes 2GB is basically a no go for windows, but current Linux distros work great on it.
What happens if you send a geek to Gulag. You get a Guleek.
I believe you know where the door is. 😁
Try swiftshader. It may be because of a pixel shader model 2.0 or 3.0 limitation. You could likely get past the crash, but whether or not it’s actual playable will be another story.
What if they hack your lastpass.....
That actually happened a few years back. They sent emails out to get people to change their passwords (including Master). Since then they've had a pretty bad reputation in the security community. Still, it is better than using one password for everything (like a lot do). One way you can get around that security flaw, is by keeping everything inside a USB key, not using their cloud functionality. The only issue their is that you better hope the drive doesn't fail, and that you don't lose it.
I just double checked. Their were two/three issues in the past 3 years. The one in 2015 where passwords were stolen, but they were hashed (encrypted). Later in 2016 their was 2 other vulnerabilities where the Master Password was compromised. I believe the issues in 2016 have been patched, and thankfully unless the original 2015 hackers used the data from the 2016 vulnerabilities the passwords are unlikely to be decrypted.
Use a password manger for your password manager!
Just make a new text file on your desktop and put all your passwords in it then hide it in the system32 folder
That is what 2FA is for, log in from a new machine and you have to authorize it.

for the price of all the equipment to make it portable gaming just get a gpd win v1. will cost the same as all the equipment. however i feel like it would be useful for places like schools to attach on the back of the monitors to just do basic web browsing and document editing.

So original totally didnt copy someone btw I'm being sarcastic why did you copy someone be original kid
I have a pc stick with identical specs. I can play civilization 5 seamlessly on it from steam. It's actually the atom that came out one previous to the 8300 in this one and mine doesn't have a usb 3.0 so this pc is probably a little bit better than mine. It works fine for older and less intensive gaming, perfect for emulation up to psx, n64, and gc, and it's perfect for streaming TH-cam, Netflix, hulu, etc. It really benefits from a usb hub.
There is no point in buying all that stuff when you could buy the chuwi hi8 for the same price as that mini pc. They are essentially the same thing but the chuwi hi8 has a beautiful sceen and battery built in.
spend 50 more for 4gb ram tablet
dud it has no usb. I dont want an adapter
so why people buy macbooks?
because people like being scammed
Because they live in their parents basement for free
Really?
Rasperry Pi 4:
Atom Z5-x8350
Intel HD Cherry Trail
1/2/4 gb of ram
Cost:
1gb: 40
2gb: 50
4gb: 60
The new Dust 2 doesn't work on 32 bit OSes like the one this mini PC has.
Try to load Mirage or even Cache, they will work.
With the internal storage, you're going to want to have ONLY windows on there. If we take it as a given that nothing smaller than 128GB is useable, then we'll slap I'm a 128GB micro SD and this $100 computer becomes a $114 computer.
$114 is good, but for $157 you can get a $14 305W PSU from China, a BIOSTAR TB-250BTC ATX motherboard for $45 (designed for crypto mining but still better than that tiny brick), a 500GB HDD for $17 (MUCH more comfortable amount of storage), for $71 an Intel G3950, and a cheap stick of DDR4 RAM (anything will do because the processor will only run it at 2133MHz anyway) for about $25. Again, that's $157.
$114 for a phone with no screen or $157 (plus a little for a case if you're a pussy) for a weak PC. Easy choice. Value goes down the toilet when things get super duper cheap like this, and you don't have to go back up very far at all for the value to skyrocket.
*Where can I buy Austin for $100*
the integrated graphics on this is like 200% better than a x300 from 2005 so you should've been able to run CS GO on it, i think you did something wrong.
I dont think it's the cheapest PC. Rasberry Pi's are PC's as well, arent they?
They are lol
But perhaps he had a requirement of full Windows... Raspberry Pi can't run full Windows but this can, even if barely
it can't run full windows however.
cool 100 dollars laptop do you like them austin
I think the reason it wont boot CS:Go is that it needs 2 gb of ram which normally means system ram thats not being borrowed by the video card in which it takes half meaning it only has 1gb of system usable memory.
6:26 we learned that we need at least 4GiB of RAM like it says on the MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
How do you get a computer with licensed windows 10 for 100 bucks ?
Nikola Petrov By buying it.
OEM version Windows which only can activate on one pc and only 1 time
Windows licenses are free for small companies
Giovane Usignolo Not small companies, is free for light tablet and laptop (example 2 GB RAM)
Microsoft Windows licenses are free to manufacturers for small devices under $200 (US).
Hope everyone had a great day :)
What about the raspberry pi
Zak R it's like a double pie
But honestly anything under 8GB of ram is better off running linux, or Android.

if you put the video speed in x2 its still easy to understand what he is saying

I would have bought it if only it could run a 3d software

@@aidan8583 Don't forget that if you are taking the time for it (though some distros can offer this out of the box), you can make a really nice nearly bloat-free install :)

You forgot to mention the installed WIN10 is an illegal copy without a license key...
Possibly, however MS gives OEMs a free copy (or very cheap and the OEM takes a slight loss for a bit of gain). If they install the "bing" edition. Therefore, the cost can stay down.
What the heck are you saying man, if you don't activate windows it's not illegal
If that has a Win10 legal copy it might be a RESTRICTED one, as in you have to use Microsoft services and install stuff only from the Microsoft Store (I think it is called Windows RT).
syxepop it's windows 10 s. RT is for arm chips
LOLIPHY, true both 10S and 10RT are the same concept (only you can install stuff from the MS Store), but on different computing platforms, as in x86 and ARM respectively. Both are equally atrocious since there are far less stuff available than on iOS or Android... (remember MS tried this same approach on their Zune media players and FAILED MISERABLY?)
But can it run Crysis ?!?!!
