@ONgov, The Ontario gov't needs to realize that as someone working from 7-5 mon-fri, since DriveTest centers are only opened from 8:30 - 5:00 it is impossible to get my g1 without taking a day off of work. Why the heck don't we have DriveTest centers opened on at least Saturday, only 3 locations are opened in Ontario on Saturday and they are all located around Toronto, none in Ottawa. Gosh this is so frustrating.
+Ca l Locations and hours of operations for Ontario DriveTest centres are laid out in the contract between the Ontario government and DriveTest. However, DriveTest is committed to always improving customer service and responding to the service needs of the public. As such, DriveTest does review their service hours regularly and on an ongoing basis. Please feel free to reach out directly to DriveTest to share your concerns about hours of operations. Thank you for your comment. The G1 and G2 Road Test's are part of our graduated licensing system in Ontario. For more information on this system please visit the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
I am a senior who has been driving for a lifetime. After a short medical suspension, I was told that I had to go through the long graduated process again. I'd rather take MAID!
Looks pretty smooth! :D I live in the European Union. It's much harder to get a license there. Cars, fuel and the driver's license are a lot more expensive there! :-/
Thank you for your comment. There is a list of acceptable ID's that you can bring with you. Please visit: ontario.ca/driving-and-roads/get-g-drivers-licence-new-drivers
*TL;DR* No License --> Pen Test --> G1 License --> G1 Road Test --> G2 License --> G2 Road Test --> Full G License --> Road Accident --> No License Watch part 2/4 for more details!
Oops, I think the most painful thing I feel as a foreigner. I just arrived in Jiangda. I have opened it in my country, but I am here, alas, I want to buy a used car because I have no local driver's license. People have no local driver's license.It ’s really sad to sell it to me. Is this the reason for institutionalization?Why is the simple thing to take a driver's license to become so complicated for?I have to wait for one year after getting the first one. It is impossible to accept this efficiency. Really.
What is the different between the G1 Road Test, and the G2 Road Test?? In PA, I only had to take one (1) test to get my license, and it only took 20 minutes between the time I did Parallel Park, and when they took me out on some of the side streets of Bridgeville, and back to the shopping center where the DMV is.
So not every1 reads english.. if in quebec, french. If anywhere on turtle island it shld be mohawk etc. So the loop i have seen is i can have a licence from somewhere across the ocean, its good for a couple months, and if i dont renew goodbye.. So what if i get some1 to put a car under they name , insure , plate it, etc? My licence expires cuz i didnt do the test , i can read . But.. my car as far as the police know is ok.. hmmm How too often is this going on?

Hi, We are a driving school, are we allowed to use these videos as part of our curriculum? If not from whom do we need to get permission from to use these videos as part of our curriculum?
What constitutes as the "minimum four years driving experience" needed to accompany a G1 driver? Must you hold a full G license for at least four years or does the time you held a G2 license count towards those four years?
Hi marygilaine. Thanks for your comment. For more info on what "minimum four years driving experience means" check out: www.ontario.ca/driving-and-roads/get-g-drivers-licence-new-drivers. Or call/send us an email at: www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/about/contact-us.shtml
+Jesse Victor The G1 test consists of 20 sign questions and 20 knowledge questions, you need to score at least 80% on each test. The sign test takes about 10 mins and the written test takes about 20 mins depending on the individual. Good luck!
