A puffin crossing is a more advanced pelican crossing (the ones that have the green and red lights for pedestrians on the button). They also have sensors to detect if the road is clear before changing the light to green. A toucan crossing is a pelican/puffin crossing where cyclists are allowed to also cross (shown on the green and red lights for pedestrians).
