That re-purposed tubing is gold! You just opened my eyes to another world. I come across tons of old discarded machines and metals and have never thought that far ahead. I’m new to welding so I suppose a small truck is next on the to buy list. Thank you for the idea!!
That tubing came from an old treadmill. I have 2 pieces left and I will be using those in a future video later this summer. That treadmill has donated parts to 3 videos now.
The thing I most like about this design, compared with many others on YT - the bars down the side of the welding machine - some very welcome protection -- after all, they tend to be at the more expensive end of our workshop investments ...
Great build! I'm borrowing some of those ideas for my cart - using the angle iron for the tank, the mesh for the shelf, and the square stock for the flanges under the shelves.
Can you open the side door on your MIG welder with those rails where they are? Seems like that would be the drawback of this design. Any changes you’d make doing it a second time? I’m also repurposing material to make a welding cart, and nearly boxed in my machine with my design.
The door on the blue Clarke welder in the video is not hinged. It just comes off of the welder. The newer videos with the Lincoln MP210 has a hinged door, so yes it has the problem you described. If I made it over again today, I would make the sides tall enough to open the door on the MP210, everything else has worked fine.
Just picking up the welding and machining hobby. Excited about this trying to build this cart. Then I saw "First start out with a $1000.00 welding table............ :-)
Just an FYI, anytime you drill a hole through square tubing, you should always put a washer on both sides of the bolt and but /or fasteners to distribute the weight evenly throughout. The hole that the back wheels bolt through, will eventually start" egging out" , especially if there is more weight over the hole. Good build.
Hello, I just saw your video which interested me for the realization of my cart for my welding station. Very nice video. If you don't mind, I will be inspired by it. Could you tell me the section of the tubes and their thickness please? Thank you in advance - (waived for my bad English: google translation)
Nice job! The front casters look larger then 3", and the threaded shaft is how tall? Amazon says the shaft is "Stem Size: 0.5" Tall x 0.25"". They look larger in the vid. Thx.
Looks like you are right I linked to the wrong casters. I think these may have come from Harbor Freight. I'll look and change the link. Thanks for letting me know.
The ones in the video came from Harbor Freight. They are 4 inch not 3 inch, you are correct. The Amazon equivalent is amzn.to/2GHv6q3 The ones from HF is www.harborfreight.com/4-inch-x-3-4-quarter-inch-stem-swivel-caster-90998.html If you order the HF ones, the thread is 1/2 inch x 20 which is not common at most hardware stores or big box stores. Luckily I had a tap with the same thread pattern.
Nice cart. Thanks for the video. I always pick up thrown away treadmills, weight benches and other gym equipment. Usually some nice steel to work with.
i bought a cheapo welder from HF... good enough for a beginner and any projects i'll do... reading the manual (yes, i actually READ the manual) a few things. the welder goes to 50amp yet in the manual they say use a l6-30 plug....i'll probably never crank this sucker up to magma heat so probably not a biggy... they also say DON'T use a gas tank that is over 18" high - what the hell is THAT about?? can you shed any light on this?
The cart came out very nice ! Thanks for sharing ! I like learning. Your techniques and seeing the tools you use it was unfortunate that my Grandfather. Who was a professional welder. Structurally good welds that didn’t necessarily look the best where my Grandpa always made very good looking welds ? My Dad was more a carpenter than a metal fabricator. Yet my Granfather began his career as a body and fender man utilizing lead as a. Filler And mostly hammer and dolly work So he was kind of a metal artist originally one of the coolest things he made was a steel nativity seen we still use. I want to make a cart to hold three of my Everlast machines. One mig welder, one tig welder and a plasma cutter. I could probably use the same basic design as you and just lengthen it a bit.
Nice job!! Good video. I just wonder how many people on this thread have all the toys you have. Probably have to do a video of you cutting all that stuff with a hacksaw....LOL. That would be me.
I have a question I just bought a welder I've been using flux core I want to use gas What size cylinder should I get . 40 ,80 How long will each cylinder last
80 cu ft is about 3' high. Argon and cO2 mix gas for steel. Will last a long time if used at home. Better welds and easier to weld with than flux wire. My machine seems happiest burning 0.023" wire.
Fantastic video. I’m glad your video found me :). I just started metal working and I could benefit from something like this. Hope your having a fantastic weekend.
Nice project. My advice is that you should forcus to make the weld straight before trying to to some thing more advanced like making those eeeeeeeeeeeee patern.
I hope u can teach an old man new tricks. Concerning power controllers used to power a dc motor on a wood lathe or for that matter any woodworking tool. Do all, some or what accept regular 110 house current as power input or is there some that require only dc power input? Just a bit confused in reading the descriptions to some on Amazon, ebay, etc. Sometimes neither is mentioned and I wonder if I’m just stupid or missed something. I have my wood lathe running with a dc motor through the MC-60 that came on the same treadmill. I was wondering if you could just avoid using the mc-60 altogether and use a power controller. Hope u can teach an old dog new tricks. Thanks a lot Oh I forgot, on my wood lathe where I have the dc motor running through the mc-60, I want to fix it where it will run forward and reverse. I have a DTDP switch wire up and ready to install & I wanted to know if I could piggy back to the connectors inside the mc-60 where the power and motor are connected? In other words can I connect the DTDP switch wires onto the same posts where they are connected to the Mac-60? If this isn’t clear please let me know and I’ll try to go from another direction. Thanks Oh, one more thing, whew! On TH-cam I have noticed different people designating which wires go where. Some say the 2 middle wires(on the DTDP switch) go to the power while some say they go to the motor. Can u shed light on this? Finally THANKS
I am glad that my son is a professional fitter/welder. He knows that clamps till not prevent distortion from welding and so we would not waste time clamping ^&*( down to a table once it is set up.

Great welding cart build, I love it. I’m a little concerned about sitting a gas bottle on the expanded metal floor, it looks a little flimsy.
Not at all. It's held up great with no issues.
I was thinking the same thing.
Nicest one I have seen -- strong, functional, good looking -- Thanks!
Glad you like it!
@@MakingStuff Meant to add, SIMPLE. Simple is generally a very good thing.
Parabéns, bom trabalho amigo 👏👏
Obrigado!
Great build! I'm borrowing some of those ideas for my cart - using the angle iron for the tank, the mesh for the shelf, and the square stock for the flanges under the shelves.
Great job on making the cart. I got a lot of watching the build.
Thanks 👍
great job dude !! and you painted it my favorite color
Thanks!
Wow! That turhed out pretty freaking awesome!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Slick... gave me some ideas for my new tig set up... thank you
No problem 👍
I just finished my welding cart a few days ago. Nice design!
Thank you!
Making Stuff what's the measurements for this cart I'd like to make a cart like this
Can you open the side door on your MIG welder with those rails where they are? Seems like that would be the drawback of this design. Any changes you’d make doing it a second time? I’m also repurposing material to make a welding cart, and nearly boxed in my machine with my design.

what size square tubing is that? and the thickness also? please .... thanks..
1.5 inch 14ga.
Did you add some support under the metal where the tank goes? tank is heavy, very nice build.
Yes there is a cross piece under there.
Just picking up the welding and machining hobby. Excited about this trying to build this cart. Then I saw "First start out with a $1000.00 welding table............ :-)
You can do it! My welding table is not $1000. See the video I made about it.
Just an FYI, anytime you drill a hole through square tubing, you should always put a washer on both sides of the bolt and but /or fasteners to distribute the weight evenly throughout. The hole that the back wheels bolt through, will eventually start" egging out" , especially if there is more weight over the hole. Good build.
What is the wheel size and wheel base size of cart?
Hello, I just saw your video which interested me for the realization of my cart for my welding station. Very nice video. If you don't mind, I will be inspired by it. Ok, great! Glad I asked as I was about to order them. I'll watch for the correct link. Thx
The ones in the video came from Harbor Freight. They are 4 inch not 3 inch, you are correct. Luckily I had a tap with the same thread pattern.
I'm concerned that 1/8" wall isn't enough threaded surface area strength. Did you add anything?
Nope. I did it just like the video. You could always add a piece of flat bar to the bottom, kinda like what I did in the fab table video.
Nice Job!
Thanks!
Did you make the stand for the portable bandsaw?
Yes. th-cam.com/video/SM15QfffC0I/w-d-xo.html
Nice build, What were you dimensions on the base frames like how long and wide
Nice cart. Thanks for the video. I always pick up thrown away treadmills, weight benches and other gym equipment. Usually some nice steel to work with.
Bom trabalho 👍👏
What are the measurements on the square tubing
cool craftsmanship
What aquares are you using? Never seen any like that. I want some
They are made by Fireball tool. There is a link in the description.
Making Stuff ok thank you. Yes i saw that and at end of video you said so too. As soon as i saw them i got in a hurry. Lol
Bob Keller, no problem glad I could help.
Nice Cart ,look's really Good ,thanks
Thanks for watching!
Very nice
Thank you!
Nice job! The curved rails from the treadmill was a great idea!
Awesome cart!!!
Thank you 🤗
I like the curved portions of your cart. I might incorporate that for a cart for my everlast welder.
nice welding bench
Thank you.
Very good job and nice video. Thanks.
Beautiful and useful. Great job.
Thank you.
Very nice build and looks a hell of a lot stronger than store bough. Great stuff
nice build, planning to change my old cart, what size of tube did you use? Is it 1x2" tube? thanks.
It was either 1.5" square or 2" square. Not really sure.
Good job!
i bought a cheapo welder from HF... good enough for a beginner and any projects i'll do... reading the manual (yes, i actually READ the manual) a few things. the welder goes to 50amp yet in the manual they say use a l6-30 plug....i'll probably never crank this sucker up to magma heat so probably not a biggy... they also say DON'T use a gas tank that is over 18" high - what the hell is THAT about?? can you shed any light on this?
Better quality than any of the big box stores. 👍
awesome work looks great
Bravo i like your work very much good luck man
Thanks a lot!

Kellie Wood check out the one that Jimbos Garage built
Damn it. Very nice.
Love that cart nice job
The welds look cold on the first bits welded to me??? Nice cart I like the design.
It hasn't fallen apart yet :) Thanks for watching!
where can i get those squads?
Fireballtool.com
Whats the name of that song playing from minute 1 to minute 4?? thats nice music, great video.
It's one of the free files for TH-cam's audio library. I'm not sure which one it is.
Nice job!! Good video. I just wonder how many people on this thread have all the toys you have. Probably have to do a video of you cutting all that stuff with a hacksaw....LOL. That would be me.

hello where did you buy yours corners vices ?
Fireball tool.
how many millimeters is the iron
It is 1.5 inches which would be around 40mm.
3,8 cm... i will try to do the same with (3x3)cm x3mm
The round steel from the treadmill was 1.5 inches. That is the only reason I used 1.5 inch steel. A smaller size should work just fine.
I am so gonna copy this.
I really liked that. Thanks.
lovely
Really nice.
Why did you cover the “Miller” on your welder with tape?
Probably so he doesn't get demonitized
I have a question I just bought a welder I've been using flux core I want to use gas What size cylinder should I get . 40 ,80 How long will each cylinder last

WOW, like a bought one! Good job I will make 3
what is the name of the song at the begining?
I don't know the name. It came from audioblocks.com.
2020 and loved it! you earned a new subscriber
Thanks for watching!
Cool design! Nice job! Really need to get mine finished.
Hallo kanst du mir bitte die Masse zu schicken Gruß Gerd
Fantastic video. I’m glad your video found me :). I just started metal working and I could benefit from something like this. Hope your having a fantastic weekend.

8:58 How exactly did you learn to spit :)
this is nice thanks for sharing
Nice project. My advice is that you should forcus to make the weld straight before trying to to some thing more advanced like making those eeeeeeeeeeeee patern.
maybe you could xray his welder cart and make sure the welds are up to snuff?
Nice work, the curved pieces make it hi-tech!!..Like it!!
That was awesome
I have a similar cart but not quite as heavy duty. Very nice.
Cada dia se aprende algo nuevo... que no sea lo ultimo
Congratulations....! Great job ....!

Glad you liked it, thanks for watching!
"Take two." LMAO. Been there. ~P
Отличная тележка. Хочу себе такаюже. Можете скинуть размеры. Спасибо заранее.

way better then the junk they sell. nice solid build
I have a welder like the welder u have not the tig the other if u want it for parts let me now
Very cool welding cart and super Video! :-)
Thanks for watching!
super.
GD I laughed so FH at those first 7 seconds.
You're great man how do u get those dislikes? I don't get it😕..
Great job man 👍
I don't get it either. Thanks for watching.
Great cart... welding could be alot better
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I wonder if anyone has made a welding cart out of a Smarte Carte. $5 seems like a reasonable price for a welding cart.
U could more a car on that build
