Yes, it is a play based on Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew". However, it embodies the frustration we women have with men who go on looks alone when choosing a woman. Be a Barbie Doll, or be single for life is the clear message that society gives us.
It's because we are biologically programed to do so, woman don't care about looks so much cause bioloically they are looking for qualities that cannot be expresed by genes fisically, ex: socially able, confident, risk taker, leader etc...

Megan Fregoe right?? Or Pickwick! There’s literally a song in it called “The Trouble with Women” 😂 the original Broadway production cut that song out tho, so it’s only on the London one
Alvin Shen You're weird who goes to a video entitled I hate men and gets emotional over the thought of it attracting a misandrist? News flash uglyness is subjective and, there are people that are considered ugly who have somebody genius . How could the person you label ugly have been conceived if that weren't a fact? Look at you for instance you have a really ugly personality and it might stem from your parents who had ugly ones too and, they came together and crapped you out.
Brilliant! I got to see Rachel York in City of Angels and I knew there was something special there. From Kate to Victoria to Anything Goes, she never disappoints!
Yup, because one douche bag guy should account for an entire gender. And it's not like women don't cheat. Please, if you're this narrow minded and sexist than you'd do the whole world a favor by napping on a train track.

my aunties friend had a raw with her boyfriend and went in the front room with her and said let's put a song on about men (this song)it connected to the music player in the kitchen and he needed to listen to it 😂
Rachel York does a very convincing interpretation of "I Hate Men" from Kiss Me Kate. If you women are having trouble with your husbands or boy friends, try Rachel's formula to have the guys notice and love the ladies again. I've never had that problem with women because I always treated them like goddesses, angels, and saints.
Frederick Coots .... and that right there is a Man evolved. Women are waiting for men like you. Cos with all the insults women give men, you can clearly see that women don't hate men at all but hate their behavior. Women want to love men and are waiting to love men but a lot Of men don't have a clue. They are just destructive to life themselves and the unfortunate partners they meet. With your attitude you deserve love and no doubt will find it. And don't listen to those negative men. Just cos they don't know how to get on with the opposite gender, let them go "mtgw" cos nature don't need their genes anyway!!
***** I'm afraid you are not going to out me as bitter there like how you sometimes sounds. Cos honestly, I can say as a woman, I don't want to go WGTOW as I love men generally and know that they are needed on this planet so there you go! What's the point in the human race if we truly hate each other - extinction is nigh! However, that doesn't mean as a woman I go around with my eyes blind. I also watch the news and can see the state of the human race and which gender is giving society a hard time IN GENERAL. We women are not going to hold back or keep our mouths closed when it comes to children. We will tell it as it is and simply men just need to do better when it comes to their sole part in life's responsibility and that's all!!
Mandar Sane Only through having postnatal depression and the lazy father doesn't notice that something is wrong with the mother. Therefore to protect your babies you must ensure that the person you are leaving your babies with when you venture of to work is of sound mind - that being the mother. But like a lot of fathers, they can't take the heat of a new born baby and don't bother to read the signs or they just say to the mother "oh you'll be alright dear" and then come back from work to a blood bath. Partly their responsibility. But mothers don't murder through malicious intent - premeditated murder. Also, the majority of murders that are on the news to do with children are about step-fathers that have murdered their children. Now you hear that more often than you hear about mothers murdering their children. To be honest, we hear about mothers murdering their children seldomly (rarely) but we do hear about step-fathers murdering their step-children more often that mothers. So it equates to men murdering children via pedophilia post murder, step-fathers, and kidnap, rape and then murder. Also, it's very rare now that you see male baby sitters because once upon a time most of the male baby sitters would turn out to be a murderer, rapist or pedophile. So no one ever employs a male baby sitter. Again just looking at the facts to make your own gender look better somewhere at the point of throwing the other gender under the bus. If women excelled in a particular crime I would put my hands up. Because my sister felt like killing her kids before her diagnosis. Also her hubby would always ignore the sign and say "look at all the other mothers, why can't you be like them". She thankfully went to the doctors herself because she new she wasn't acting very healthily towards them being so little. After they classically diagnosed her. Her hubby had a good telling off and was told that even he was lucky with his life. Sometimes I do think "fucking me, blame us for everything yet they are the shits in this world, clearly" but is there any point in that, NO! Just stop this tit for tat behaviour cos it's not like we don't speak the truth [I truly think we do], it's a fact and the facts speak for themselves.
aspiknf Crybaby. I don't see why you males get so upset because some women hate you. Is it affecting you in any way? Is it a crime to hate men? No. So get over it. Some women don't like you. Deal with it.
I love it when she says "I hate men" it sounds so wicked, I dunno what the proper term is, but it sounds like 3 different tones depending on which word she emphasizes.
To everyone who is complaining about this song insulting men I’ll say this: this song was written by a man in the 1940’s and is about a woman who, yes it’s true, hates men. The musical is based off Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. This song doesn’t represent women, it represents one fictional woman. I know that it doesn’t represent my sentiments on men at all. Also to those claiming that women would be offended if the song was ‘I hate women’ there’s an operatic aria called ‘La Donna è Mobile’ which translates to “The Woman is Fickle”. Am I offended by the song? No! Offence never even crossed my mind until I read some of these comments. It’s just a song about a character’s views on a gender. Do I agree with it? No. Am I offended by it? Of course not!
Honestly I wouldn’t be offended if someone wrote a song called I Hate Women for the sake of insulting women... nice try, sweetie. If that’s what you wanna think then go ahead😂
I actually seriously agree with the title of this song. There was an incel who harassed and pepper sprayed a group of women and the comments were blaming the women for how they were dressed. Seriously how is mis andry not justified?
Agreed, it would be a shame to deny yourself the company- friendship/relationship of either gender simply because of their gender. There's good and bad everywhere. Glad you have that attitude. Hope you get treated right so you can keep it. Oh and..........Have a good day.
I'm so grateful to have seen her in Camelot, and also share a birthday with her... I just can't get over how much of a triple threat she is, in that she can pull off a character voice, belting, and head voice! And it's hilarious that in the word "secretary", you can totally hear her Norma from "Victor/ Victoria"! :-D
I sooo like this song. Now this is the song that I want to lip sing in class (WITH FULL CONVICTION) hahahaha Her expression hahahaha she gave justice to the song. clap clap clapppp haha

She is just fantastic, and this song really proves it. I saw her as Guinnivere in Camelot a few years ago, and she's even more impressive in person! And I'm so honored to have the same birthday as her- August 7! :-)
I truly love this, her voice is just lovely!
Lol yeah but the crazy way she acts scares me XD
I LOVE the cheesy secretary voice she did! Almost every stereotypical secretary in an older movie had that voice 😭😂. It also reminds me of Betty Boop and Harley Quinn’s voices.
This literally reflects how I’m feeling rn
Pray to god. Ask for a better men
@apricotjones8452Can I hate women in peace being a man? Of it doesn't work that way? I'm glad you and Luna hate men, because now we know who we have to avoid.
First I see Rachel sing "So in Love" beautifully and thought "let me hear another song she sang for "Kiss Me Kate" ... and it turned out like this XD
Love it! :D
How am I only finding this now- this is such an amazing performance of this song! I had the pleasure of seeing Rachel York in a touring production of Anyting Goes years ago when I was a teen, and it was one of those special “theatre kid moments”, it was so inspiring (haha) so this is so sentimental lol💜
me too sister
Unable to stay in your lane or nah?
Me too brother
Eugene Konyha be quiet do soy actually support men and their behaviour gross cow
Eugene Konyha males suck whatcha gonna do about it
Eugene Konyha How do I act like a female dog you piece of shit

This is awesome, and hilarious. Bravo Rachel👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This performance is absolutely iconic. Love it.
her voice is so amazing. she has the best blend ! and shes a fantastic actress.
99% of the comments:omg calm down it’s just a musical, and it was written by a man too.its not trying to be sexist.
0%:this is sexist
the other 1%:good performance
this is an amazing performance ..Rachel York has a voice from heaven!!
new favorite song
same
I love this song every time I hear it.
She can actually sing just about anything. I've heard her sing classical vocal music, she sings musical theatre of course, and she has jazz on her album.
She's insanely talented.
Wow I love her
ok boomer
@@demionasanya1581 I'm in my early twenties and like her too...
So what?
You only say Ok Boomer, when you really have to deal with a boomer, dumbass.
truly ahead her time. amazing
This is the best performance of I Hate Men that I have ever seen.
i can get down to this
@Eugene Konyha you're so triggered😂 need a tampon?
her portrayal and rendition of this performance is my favorite !!!!
The only role I'll ever manage to convince myself to sing for without being super embarrassed and shy.
SHE IS SO AMAZING!
@Eugene Konyha It's a fucking musical performance. They aren't a femanist for liking a non serious performance.
@Eugene Konyha Ah, 3 years later. I wonder how ur doing ‘Eugene’, u depressed now because no women is gonna cook for u?
@Eugene Konyha As much as I hate the women in this comment section. You really are starting to prove them right.
Dude chill out.
Felt this.
me too, sister
Souvik Dey LMAO WE LOVE FRAGILE MEN
She's such an inspiration! lol. I'm using her performance as a template for my own next year.
I love how all these guys are claiming that their are no songs like this about women, when they cleary haven't seen My Fair Lady or The King and I
Megan Fregoe right?? Or Pickwick! There’s literally a song in it called “The Trouble with Women” 😂 the original Broadway production cut that song out tho, so it’s only on the London one
Just saw her in head over heels!! A QUEEN!!
Im a dude and I love this song ahaha
Eugene Konyha You’re literally under all of these comments. The fact that you’re this triggered…. It’s laughably pathetic
You are the Ouchi Hasashi of Mangina radiation.
Omg I'm sorry but I love this.
With your shitty hair and makeup you probably would.
I hate men even though I am one
Eugene Konyha damn chill dude your just proving his point by throwing out a ton of insults and cursing.
Eugene Konyha that’s not them that’s Melanie Martinez
Your Arch Nemesis That’s not them, that’s Melanie Martinez dumbass.
My absolute favorite performance of this song! Rachel York is fabulous.
My favorite showtune of all time - sheer brilliance!!!
I love this
So no men wanted that ugly-ass face huh? That why you hate men LOL? Cheers.
Alvin Shen are you talking to me i don't hate men I just think the vid is funny
Amber Wilson lololol my bad then
K
Alvin Shen You're weird who goes to a video entitled I hate men and gets emotional over the thought of it attracting a misandrist? News flash uglyness is subjective and, there are people that are considered ugly who have somebody genius . How could the person you label ugly have been conceived if that weren't a fact? Look at you for instance you have a really ugly personality and it might stem from your parents who had ugly ones too and, they came together and crapped you out.
Didn't think this would've become such a redundant song in my head.
I've truly come to hate men🙄
Lesbian?
@Shyeline I don't blame you.
Same sister
@@Fandar YOU AGAIN! GET OUT OF HERE YOU NASTY ROTTEN SQUIRREL!

Brilliant! I got to see Rachel York in City of Angels and I knew there was something special there. From Kate to Victoria to Anything Goes, she never disappoints!
My current theme song, considering I just caught the guy I've been seeing behind my back with another girl...
Yup, because one douche bag guy should account for an entire gender. And it's not like women don't cheat. Please, if you're this narrow minded and sexist than you'd do the whole world a favor by napping on a train track.
just cuz one person did it doesn't mean everyone does woman do the same you are ungrateful for what you have men built this civilization so you don't have to hunt for days to feed your family yet you are complaining
+Andie Bunker Most men would with you looking like that.
troll ^
Men suck even though I am one
my aunties friend had a raw with her boyfriend and went in the front room with her and said let's put a song on about men (this song)it connected to the music player in the kitchen and he needed to listen to it 😂
That doesn't sound like a very healthy relationship.
😂😂😂😂💯💯👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@@__-wm9lulate reply it probably isn't! That's the reason why some men avoid women and dating because of them
Rachel York does a very convincing interpretation of "I Hate Men" from Kiss Me Kate.
If you women are having trouble with your husbands or boy friends, try Rachel's formula
to have the guys notice and love the ladies again. I've never had that problem with women because I always treated them like goddesses, angels, and saints.
White-Knight spotted!
Frederick Coots you're a dumbass
I enjoy reading the "I hate men" comments here after seeing "I hate women" comments on other videos.
This exactly why I came here
Opposite way for me. I searched I hate women to see “I hate women comments” because I saw “I hate men” comments here
To sooth your inner feminist. I came here to enjoy the song, not to see Skynet (feminists) in the comment section.
@@ladykessel6283 Misandry is justified since there is so much misogyny.

I love it when she says "I hate men" it sounds so wicked, I dunno what the proper term is, but it sounds like 3 different tones depending on which word she emphasizes.
This song is my life.

WOW. What an amazing performance. Adore her!!!
She really does have a wonderful voice and presence!
I remember Rachel York from Les Miserables on Broadway in 1992.

So much passion I love it
To everyone who is complaining about this song insulting men I’ll say this: this song was written by a man in the 1940’s and is about a woman who, yes it’s true, hates men.
Inês Shrubsall THANK YOU👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Honestly I wouldn’t be offended if someone wrote a song called I Hate Women for the sake of insulting women... nice try, sweetie. If that’s what you wanna think then go ahead😂
Such sauce!
i love her in this show!
Amazing performance
I actually seriously agree with the title of this song. There was an incel who harassed and pepper sprayed a group of women and the comments were blaming the women for how they were dressed. Seriously how is mis andry not justified?
th-cam.com/video/upoFlVFBwiE/w-d-xo.html
Just because you were harassed by one doesn't mean you have to hate men 🤦🏻♀️

Don't hate all men because you choose the wrong everytime, this comes from another girl
Agreed, it would be a shame to deny yourself the company- friendship/relationship of either gender simply because of their gender. There's good and bad everywhere. Glad you have that attitude. Hope you get treated right so you can keep it. Oh and..........Have a good day.
I don't choose the wrong men, it's just by the power of the Internet I can see how disgusting they are.
MGT
Ofc you're a girl; a woman would NEVER something as stupid as that
Never said you couldn't.
I love this song. Rachel York does a great job.
