Stelios Artemiou Yet as new technologies rise, we have the ability to immortalize our loved ones not only in our memories, but also in out mobile devices. For those who think that technology is used only for things like social media or online entertainment, I offer the idea that if one can create memories of loved ones in the psyche of human and technological mind, they cease to die, and instead live on when we press the play button.

Pretty interesting, because I have watched all the Rocky's atleast 100 times since I was a kid. And I don't re him mentioning anything about his dad. But yeah your right friend, Mickey was the father Rocky needed. The Rocky movies are legendary and will always be a piece of history, even long after were gone.

Rocky lost his father in III, lost his best friend in IV, lost all his $ in V, lost his wife in VI. He even gets cancer in 'Creed'. So, it's eerily prophetic what Mickey says: Rocky HAS become Mickey. That is why he NEEDS Donnie in 'Creed' I/II. He wouldn't be alive if he didn't have the motivation to see Donnie succeed 😃😃😃😃

This scene was inspired from Mike Tysons late great trainer Cus D'amato. Mike was getting ready for the Olympic trials and an interview was done on both of them a few things were changed but alot of the emotional content was kept in this scene. The part where he says nature is smarter than people think always gets me especially how Rocky repeats it. This scene always pulls on the heart strings.

The movie wasn't the best, but this scene was one of the most iconic in the series. I come to this video when im feeling down. Ive had a fragmented family, and been by myself for the longest time along with other issues that make it hard to live sometimes. The sense of family and the words Mickey says in this scene gives me warmth and inspiration. We should be grateful for these types of people in our lives. In a way we are all living for each other as well.

This Rocky is the most vulnerable and humanized/relatable narrative, in the series, in my opinion. I mean this scene alone, speak volumes to that, I feel. So, to your point... totally- I'm here, right in this moment, needing to hear Mick's message and remind myself that we're all connected and that connection and love and caring is what we should all really value. I feel it and I hope there are some of you out there that are valuing it, as well!

One of the greatest moments in this franchise. Honestly made me cry bc it reminded me of my grandfather. The mannerisms and the rasp in his voice were a lot like Mickey. Meredith's portrayal of the only father figure in Rocky's life was what held the first three films together and what have this film heart. His spirit was lingering in those old walls. I was thinking something similar as well friend. I spent alot of time with my grandfather as a kid my old man was never around, I can remember my grandfather's raspy voice from smoking Camel non filters, he was a nine time Golden Gloves champion at 155-60 lbs. He fought all over but started in Des Moines, Iowa after my great grandparents brought my family over from Ireland and Scotland. I can remember him teaching me how to throw punches against the flat pal.s of his hands when I was about four. Crazy cuz in the last year's hr was a shrivelled up gray balding old man, still smoking Camel's dying of cancer. So I can really appreciate your story my friend.

Even if you don't like the Rocky movies or never boxed, you can really appreciate scenes like this as a man. Boxing really is a metaphor for life in a lot of ways. The heart breaks (knockdowns), Divorces (tough losses), debilitating health issues (losses that we never recover from) etc... In the end we all lose, but if we can open our eyes we ultimately have the will within us to continue and fight on.

I met my girlfriend at the tail end of my three year fight against mental health, which included two suicide attempts. I had a very similar conversation with her not so long ago explaining how proud I was of her, and how thankful I am for her very existence and everything she’s done for me. She’s my biggest reason for continuing to stay alive, and my greatest inspiration in life. I gave her a small pin-badge which I’d had since I was seventeen, a badge which I considered to be a physical part of me as it was the first thing I bought myself the day I finally got out of an abusive relationship. I told her the badge was, is, and always will be my love in the past, present, and future, and that she is my love in the present and future. Much like Mickey described Rocky Marciano’s cufflink as an angel on Rocky’s shoulder, I told her that little pin-badge would be a hand for her to hold and a shoulder to cry on if ever I couldn’t physically be there in hard times.
I’m still yet to show her this scene, I guess I’ll have to do that pretty soon.

This scene made the movie. And quite possibly the entire series. It was perfect. My parents bought me a dog when I was still in the whom. They named him Mickey. And he never left my side until the day he died, when I was 8. So this scene always reminds me of him. One of the greatest movie scenes of all time in my opinion.

+JeVarie's Planet Just like Mickey was to Rocky, Duke was to Apollo. He loved Apollo like a son. The story of Rocky, the first two movies at least, were pure genius.

BONZIBROWN48 I actually liked Rocky Balboa too. But Rocky and Rocky II were just so great. It wasn't just the evil champion and the underdog looking to win, there were all kinds of human relationships played out and inner stories everywhere.

He caved his friggin face in. That's what Mickey was talking about, why he could see left punches coming.

This scene is one of the greatest scenes in the Rocky saga. The beauty of rocky is its not just about boxing, but its about life: overcoming odds, love, family, redemption, friendship (ie Rocky's bonds with Apollo, Mickey, Duke, Paulie, even Tommy etc). The Rocky franchise is one of the greatest in movie history, right up there with Star Wars and any other long running series.

I admit...I am a grown ass man but I cry whenever I watch this scene. It really touches your heart...Mickey's words and the soft music playing in the background. I watch this when I am feeling down, and need "Mickey-style" inspiration to get up and continue the fight..that is called life.👊😁
