Honestly one thing I absolutely loved about this ep was the direction! Everything was just directed so good. Bryce Dallas Howard really deserves the praise she's getting for this (nm here but a ton on Ig, Twitter).
Riight! Book of Bobba Fett is kind of disappointing tbh, it's just not that good. This episode doesn't make it good either, it just shows how good the mandalorian was. Honestly bobba fett never should have happened.
Did anyone else catch the nod to Luke in ROTJ when leaving Tatooine he tell R2 that they weren’t going to go to the rendezvous just yet because they needed to “pay a visit to an old friend (Yoda)”? Just like Mando needs to “pay a visit to a little friend (Grogu)”. Same species and both while leaving Tatooine.
never thought we would've gotten a lot of Phantom Menace references in this episode honestly, i was quite surprised, when Mando said "Wizard" call back to the podrace scene, and of course the star fighter ship which was Anakin Skywalker's first fighter he ever had
I noticed The Armorer was waving around the Dark Saber with one hand while explainning its history. So basically, shes even more of a badass than before.
Did you notice how, beat-for-beat, rebuilding the starfighter is a call-back to the "Greased Lightning" sequence from Grease (1978), including the shop teacher saying before the race, "If it were in any better condition, it would fly."
@20:20 The starfighter is great and all and I'm sure it's being introduced for a specific plot reason, not just to give Din a way to get from system to system without riding economy class, but him accepting it as a replacement for the Razorcrest (or a Razorcrest-class of ship) really suggests he's done bounty hunting. Just like at the start of the episode, he's not bringing anyone in encased in carbonite in that ship and he's not bringing in more than one bounty at a time 'warm'. Though maybe he can collect a bunch of 'cold' ones by just filling up the former droid spot with heads.
After watching Star Wars chronologically (including the Clone wars, rebels, and mando), I loved seeing the callbacks to Rebels with the dark saber and it being heavy if you aren’t connected to it

Nah, the Armorer is old school. Loyalty. Din just gotta handle biz on Mandolore, which Boba will accidentally be a part of... so they'll both be redeemed to team against Bo-Katan, then each other.
legit i know it was basically Disney giving us season 3 of the Mandalorian in a boba fett series, but overall , it was such a damn great episode and a good story of what was going on during the events for Din Djarin before Boba and Fennic Shand hired him for the extra muscle they needed against the Pikes syndicate
I think Fett (and maybe Fennic) will join the Mudhorn Clan. (Din and Grogu's clan of "two", at the end of Season 1.) There is nothing to say that the Din and Grogu's story intersects with Fett's in such a way that it's an important chapter in Fett's Book. It may be the intro to Mando S3, but it could be integral to Boba Fett's story.
I absolutely LOVE the fact that Din can now use his beskar to brace against his saber. That means he has a incredibly distinct advantage over any jedi because of the amount of leverage he has from being able to push against any point on the blade compared to just the hilt. He can break any blade lock by muscling with his arm like a shield
I thought in the first episode of the Mandalorian a twist is that "I can bring you in cold" actually didn't mean dead, but encased in carbonite. Mando has become more hardcore since he has to use public transportation and can't carry people freezers.
This episode also felt like an homage to Jon Favreau, with the scene when Tony Stark took his Mark II armor on a test run. Instead of the kid with the ice cream cone, it was the Roidian kid, seeing Mando for the first time.
I would love to see Boba and Mando have a Superman Batman type friendship. Where they have each others back, but they also have their own lives. And neither is a sidekick
This shows Din sees Grogu as a foundling just with a Jedi to learn and protect himself and not a Padawan learning the ways of the Jedi to become a Jedi knight. That may cause conflict with Luke and Din they have different ideologies. One is about solo, no feelings, no attachments and fear the other is about clan, tribe, strength in numbers and family.

They are doing everything perfect!….i cant be any more prouder of the cast and crew. And I love the one true element that the story is revealing, is that loyalty and respect with in brothers ….like a futuristic godfather family in space…i just don’t want to see the mandilorian wake up with a monsters head in his bed.
It's not literally heavy and it's "weight" isn't inherently connected to the Force. The "weight" is reflection of it's user's emotional state. It is heavy because Din is emotionally conflicted, reflecting the Jedi teachings of Tar Vizsla. It can also become "charged" and feel much lighter due to positive emotions like "love" or "loyalty", reflecting the familial nature of the Mandalorian's.
@@Nezxmi Iirc, Kanan explained it the best, as it was something to do with how the energy flowered through the crystal, and the more connected you are the better the flow and the lighter it is, but I can't remember the full wording sadly.

Not sure it will be mentioned in the video but I think we got a bit of foreshadowing that he will get Grogu back.... the mechanic put a glass dome over where the astromech used to go, its pretty much perfect size for Grogu now.
How did Mando “travel” to the ring city with no ship and weapons and a decapitated head? He didn’t. The first scene occurred on the ring, he was walking distance away.
One thing that I love about these shows is the leitmotifs for the main characters. Whenever Boba does something cool we get a flute, whenever Din Djarin walks into an establishing shot, we get a flute. It's such a cool detail that despite the repetitiveness and cheesiness of the practice never gets tiring.
The flute mando theme was heard at the very end of episode 4, so I knew we were seeing him this episode was such a delight when I heard it I stood up from the couch, and then we get a full mando episode ? What a treat.
I think TBOBF actually clued us in on who will help Mando out by having the BD-1 unit cameo. Perhaps it’ll be Cal Kestis that is training Grogu under Luke’s blessing. And maybe he’ll assist Mando with the Dark Saber!!
Just a thought, but with Boba Fett's sigil being "the mythasaur" could, The Armorer's prophecy be referring to his rise? Especially if the Dark Sabre is making its way over to Tatooine with Mando.
Boba Fett doesn't have a sigil (or a clan for that matter). He has a decal stuck on his armour. He has never been a part of Mandalorian culture, and explicitly does not consider himself to be part of that culture.
@@Carabas72 seeing that Jango was a foundling and fought in the Mandalorian wars, Boba has more of a pure lineage than anyone else. That's why I think Boba Fett will be the one in the end to fulfill this prophesy.
All I realized from this episode is how desparate Bo Katan is to lead the mandalorians, Boba was right the empire glassed Mandalore so there is no benefit in trying to retake Mandalore again. They even made it easier for the empire to glass Mandalore, with all that Darth Maul problem and their loss after the Siege of Mandalore making the planet very weak and vulnerable.

Perfect chapter! The Naboo starfighter got me the most, how he flew it through the canyons reminded me of young Anakin pod racing in Episode 1. This is the way!
If I remember the kyber crystal is a living crystal connected to the force. I think why the dark saber is getting heavier is because it's testing the strength and worthiness of its wielder if there fit to be it's Master.
No. Boba Fett couldn't care less about all things Mandalorian. Also, that prophesy is likely self-serving bunk the Children Of the Watch made up rather than an actual magical prophecy.

And while Boba didn’t care for Mandalore last year, he cares about his father, who was a Foundling, and in his own story is talking an awful lot of the value of collectivism, trust, and honor. Christian Yaerger exactly! Boba survived the Sarlacc & became Mandalore in legends. I can tell Favreau & Filoni are restoring that narrative. Being a fan of Legends Jango Fett - Open Seasons comic yrs ago It was cool how they canonized Jango Fett as a foundling and (True Mandalorian) under Jasper.
I think Favreau and Filoni (or Favloni as ive chosen to refer to them) are just telling a bigger story than can fit in one series. I think we should not be looking at these as separate stories but rather as a whole story being told piece by piece...Favloni just has to use different “series”

I hope the Ahsoka series ties in very heavily to Rebels, Clone Wars, (2008 AND 2003) Resistance and Mando/BOBF and also the Sequels and Obi-Wan and Prequels AND canon comics with hundreds of little OT Easter Eggs. And my movies.
Something you might’ve missed that I thought was cool: The cross dissolve transition with the spear bisecting the moon closely resembles the crest of the Journeyman Protectors of Concord Dawn (the emblem on Boba Fett’s chest armor).
I felt like it granted an opportunity to summarize the transformation and challenging of his belief system since they last saw each other. This small question represents much more than the answer itself.
I've been saying the colourful speeders look like Naboo, specifically Theed craftsmanship for weeks now! I 100% expecting the Mod gang to fawn over Mando's ship when they meet him because it's a classic made by the same company that makes their bikes.
@@brentkoivopolo6200 not saying no other planet can have stylish things, just saying the specific smooth curves coming to a point style of Theed vehicles can be seen on the base vehicle under all the mods. Hell, the yellow one was the exact shade as the N-1 Starfighters in Episode 1.
I haven't really seen anyone say this yet but I'm guessing that while visiting Grogu, Luke may help Mando use the Darksaber effectively. That way he can help Boba Fett more effectively, instead of dragging the sword around against the Pikes lol

To me, Din Djarin is worthy of the Darksaber. He's one of the most Mandalorian Mandalorians I've ever seen in the star wars universe. In my opinion either him or Sabine.
When Pelly (?) says “Hey look everyone it’s Mando”, R5 gives a little “sigh” making me think of the scene in Little Rascal’s where Buckwheat says “Look my mom’s here” and one of the boys says “Whoopi”
I don't usually like videos that speculate, but you guys seem more willing to see where the story takes us, which I appreciate. Minor speculations and just pointing out Easter eggs is so much more fun then trying to dissect every frame to figure out the end. So many people have been getting disappointed because instead of watching the story they're given, they wanted their fanfiction brought to the screen. Oh well, I'm a sucker for found family stories, so I'm in it until the end.
Also, it's pretty sad imo that the best episode (by a long shot) is one that has nothing to do with Fett or the story Rodriguez was trying to weave. They just need to give it to BDH going forward, she's done a fantastic job with these series and the Star Wars universe
Absolutely. It is frankly beyond me why they'd give it Rodriguez. He has a terrible track record, only succeeding when he's doing hyper-stylized, hammy auteurish works.
This episode was chronologically parallel to where we currently stand in Boba Fett's narrative, and Fennec Shand dropped by to link Mando and Boba together going into the next episode.
Also Jon fav, played pre visla which is a reference to Jon's influence on star wars by his creation of "the volume" through his expertise of pre-visualization techniques used in movie making. Which is why Jon first played pre visla in clone wars. And played pas visla in book of boba Fett, as in past(post) visualization.
That was a great metaphor about how they're taking elements from the prequels and sequels and showing us underneath the surface there are pretty cool stuff.
I like the contrast between The Armorer and Peli Motto. Both get the job done. For one, it's "This is the Way"; for the other, it's a joy. Both get the job done, one in darkness, one in light, and both are needed.
It was sad to see but love how Mando is no longer part of the creed...and i think because of the connection he had with Grogu and how the saber was heavy for him, i can see how he could potentially be a force user as well, just doesn't understand how to tap into it since he had followed the creed for so long
If the saber does have a sort of sentience Din won it now twice. Once from one who was a foe of Mandalore and once from one of royal mandalorian bloodlines who has legit family claims to the saber. And it seemed the saber was equally heavy and difficult for Visla if not more. Like it doesn't want anyone to wield it right now.
The creed has cast hom aside for now but he has yet to leave it. I'm guessing in season 3 we will see him complete his quest to be able to return but ultimately chose not too.
Can't wait to see how Din and Grogu's father/son relationship make young Ben Solo jealous and send him ona path to the dark side when Din shows up at the Jedi Academy to give Grogu some presents and forehead kisses.
0:07 NOT TRUE Din is showing the complete opposite of Boba's story. Din is now MORE violent and even more reckless now than ever. He's hurting more now than ever after giving his son away. He's lost his ship which was his home for the most part. Then his old clan just kicked him out on the streets because he let his son see his face. Throughout the story of Boba we've seen him go through a BIG change going from a loner to a leader while Din is even MORE ALONE now then ever. "You can only get so far without a tribe..."
3:24 LOL, when he said "Halo 3" they showed Halo 1's main menu. Also, these "ringworlds" were in almost every Halo game. Not just Halo 3. In fact, we were on The Ark in Halo 3, not even on a Halo Ring.
Is fair, besides Luke in the finale, Boba took a lot of spotlight in season 2 of the Mandalorian, he was in like half of the episodes kicking ass, doing plans and flying the Slave one, it was only fair to have Mando do the same in the Boba series
Unlike Maul, Grogu probably wouldn't be interested in ruling clans of warriors whose ancestors fought his own kind in the past. Remember: Jedi aren't allowed attachments and ruling a world is a mighty BIG attachment!!!!

I thought in the first episode of the Mandalorian a twist is that "I can bring you in cold" actually didn't mean dead, but encased in carbonite. Mando has become more hardcore since he has to use public transportation and can't carry people freezers.

This episode also felt like an homage to Jon Favreau, with the scene when Tony Stark took his Mark II armor on a test run. Instead of the kid with the ice cream cone, it was the Roidian kid, seeing Mando for the first time.
I know this was basically S3E1 of The Mandalorian, but it was a great episode and a good story of what was happening to Din before Boba hired him

This shows Din sees Grogu as a foundling just with a Jedi to learn and protect himself and not a Padawan learning the ways of the Jedi to become a Jedi knight. That may cause conflict with Luke and Din they have different ideologies. One is about solo, no feelings, no attachments and fear the other is about clan, tribe, strength in numbers and family.

And I love the one true element that the story is revealing, is that loyalty and respect with in brothers ….like a futuristic godfather family in space…i just don’t want to see the mandilorian wake up with a monsters head in his bed.

It's not literally heavy and it's "weight" isn't inherently connected to the Force. The "weight" is reflection of it's user's emotional state. It is heavy because Din is emotionally conflicted, reflecting the Jedi teachings of Tar Vizsla. It can also become "charged" and feel much lighter due to positive emotions like "love" or "loyalty", reflecting the familial nature of the Mandalorian's.

Not sure it will be mentioned in the video but I think we got a bit of foreshadowing that he will get Grogu back.... the mechanic put a glass dome over where the astromech used to go, its pretty much perfect size for Grogu now.

One thing that I love about these shows is the leitmotifs for the main characters. Whenever Boba does something cool we get a flute, whenever Din Djarin walks into an establishing shot, we get a flute. It's such a cool detail that despite the repetitiveness and cheesiness of the practice never gets tiring.

He'd have to win it in combat. They don't currently have any conflict with each other.
Boba Fett doesn't have a sigil (or a clan for that matter). He has a decal stuck on his armour. He has never been a part of Mandalorian culture, and explicitly does not consider himself to be part of that culture.

That shot of mandalore in flames with the k2 droids and probe droids was one of the coolest star wars shots I’ve seen
All I realized from this episode is how desparate Bo Katan is to lead the mandalorians, Boba was right the empire glassed Mandalore so there is no benefit in trying to retake Mandalore again. They even made it easier for the empire to glass Mandalore, with all that Darth Maul problem and their loss after the Siege of Mandalore making the planet very weak and vulnerable.

Something you might’ve missed that I thought was cool: The cross dissolve transition with the spear bisecting the moon closely resembles the crest of the Journeyman Protectors of Concord Dawn (the emblem on Boba Fett’s chest armor).
I can imagine Mando finding Grogu to give him his gift, and Grogu somehow teaching Mando how to wield the Dark Saber.

I just watched this episode today. It’s basically The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 1 and I’m all for it.
To me, Din Djarin is worthy of the Darksaber. He's one of the most Mandalorian Mandalorians I've ever seen in the star wars universe. In my opinion either him or Sabine.

I don't usually like videos that speculate, but you guys seem more willing to see where the story takes us, which I appreciate. Minor speculations and just pointing out Easter eggs is so much more fun then trying to dissect every frame to figure out the end. So many people have been getting disappointed because instead of watching the story they're given, they wanted their fanfiction brought to the screen. Oh well, I'm a sucker for found family stories, so I'm in it until the end.

S1: Boba rides the Rancor as leader of Tatooine underworld. S2: Boba rides the Mythasaur as leader of Mandalorians.
I'm think the Mythasaur will rise again is a symbol that Boba may rise up and lead Mandalore. He does have it as his crest.
Plus the crest boba has is that of the first king of mandalore

I like the contrast between The Armorer and Peli Motto. Both get the job done. For one, it's "This is the Way"; for the other, it's a joy. Both get the job done, one in darkness, one in light, and both are needed.
It was sad to see but love how Mando is no longer part of the creed...and i think because of the connection he had with Grogu and how the saber was heavy for him, i can see how he could potentially be a force user as well, just doesn't understand how to tap into it since he had followed the creed for so long
If the saber does have a sort of sentience Din won it now twice. Once from one who was a foe of Mandalore and once from one of royal mandalorian bloodlines who has legit family claims to the saber. And it seemed the saber was equally heavy and difficult for Visla if not more. Like it doesn't want anyone to wield it right now.

Din is showing the complete opposite of Boba's story. Din is now MORE violent and even more reckless now than ever. He's hurting more now than ever after giving his son away. He's lost his ship which was his home for the most part. Then his old clan just kicked him out on the streets because he let his son see his face.
Throughout the story of Boba we've seen him go through a BIG change going from a loner to a leader while Din is even MORE ALONE now then ever.
