  • I recently went on a sailing day on the 3 masted 1874 barque "James Craig".
Built in 1874 as the "Clan McLeod", she served in various roles until being abandoned in Recherce Bay in Tasmania. She sat as a hulk rusting away until 1972 when she was refloated and taken to Hobart. In 1980 she was moved to Sydney, and was a familiar sight at Rozelle on the floating dock as she was gradually restored, reentering service as a museum ship in 2001.
I have no connection to the James Craig, or to Sydney Heritage Fleet.
I am simply a satisfied passenger.
