  • For this episode of Streets by VICE we are in Miami traveling along Biscayne Blvd. The main artery to the city stretching north to south as it takes us through neighborhoods as marvelous, and strange as the city itself.
We’ll catch up with the people who give Miami its vibrancy, from big budget property developers & international DJ's to former drug traffickers and artists, and get to see what makes Miami and it’s energy so distinct

you clearly are illiterate too. I said "areas like overtown" and by the way broward is NOT Miami and although fuck ass homestead is in Miami Dade County NO ONE FROM MIAMI COUNTS IT AS MIAMI. When I talk about Miami i talk from doral to coconut grove to aventura to miami lakes. Anything inside those points is really Miami. No one comes to Miami or anyone that truly lives in Miami will waste their time going to any of those locations you just named day or "night"

Some may dress "fashionably" but they do not own style as they have none and they can never set trends as they only see what was in style 3 years ago and mimic.

+Daniel B So what if they wear suits, suits can be worn as an everyday attire for anything other than the beach i guess lol, it doesn't really matter, back then that was the norm but apparently in this generation you can't anymore unless you are going to your job/interview or something.

Yes, Miami can be pretty depressing. It’s captivating at first glance but you can see through the veneer real quick. I feel like there’s no middle ground there, you’re either doing really well or really bad. The average and affordable house in Miami is comparable to houses in the hoods of other cities.

Voodoo does not come from the Caribbean, it is from Africa, Benin Dahomy , and was transported to the Caribbean from the enslavement of Africans. In Latin countries with large African populations ie: Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Costa Rica etc, it's referred to as Santaria. the English speaking countries Obeah. The next phase for the artists trying to make a living is actually Little Haiti, Lemon City and Little river area.

There would have to be some serious sink holage and a few big storms which is definitely possible. I'm not saying it absolutely won't happen and the more we build here the bigger that possibility becomes but I live on the coast and I feel like if it really was going to just be in 20 years then businesses wouldn't be investing in property nor would normal people for housing. Renovations are always being done to these massive villas on the beach and modern houses are also being incorporated. But hey what do I know. People don't really do shit until something bad happens. And can't always believe what you hear ✌

The most detailed view so far of MIAMI. Miami is NOT ONLY South Beach. Even though this video shows a lot of my city. They still don't show a lot of Miami but hey, how much info can you put in one vid? ;)

Miami. Either you're rich or you're poor if you live there.
That's what my friend from Sunrise, FL told me. I wanted to move there at 19. He convinced me to consider the west coast. Today, I've been living in St. Pete for 13 years and I'm damn glad with my decision. It's a paradise here. If you're young and you want to move to FL, Tampa Bay is amazing. They glamorize Miami in this video, but visit the real city a few times. I stayed in a motel in Opa Locka once. Give that experience a try, seriously.

Born and raised in Miami and still live in FL and the truth is Miami is like no other city, it has such a rich culture, including its food, music, scenery, fashion and art but it has it’s negative aspects as well not shown in this documentary. Parts of Miami have a real high level of drug, gang, crime and murder rate issues. The Miami Vice tv show isn’t too far fetched from the 1980s Miami but today while the Cocaine hey days are mainly in the past, it still struggles with its issues. Just saying I never go to Miami at night without my steel. I have lots of love for the 305 just wish all parts of Miami could be shown in this.

Voodoo (or Vodou in Haiti) did not start in the Caribbean. It started in West Africa around Ghana, Sierra Leone, Benin. And it didn't start as some form of guise to be able to practice an actual religion, trying to avoid the pressures of Christianity. It was mixed with Christianity to maintain Vodou traditions, but it wasn't created for that. Come on y'all.

See, this pisses me off. Cuban's weren't the first ones here. They really didn't make a mark until the late 80's early 90's. Blacks were here also, blacks went through the riots, blacks went through all the B.S. with cops and the Government. Luke Skywalker and 2 live crew, Uncle Al, Jam Pony Express weren't mentioned as far as the music, and the Bass. Bass is an African thing, came from the beating of drums to relay messages and so on. I love everyone in Miami, it took everyone to make Miami what it is, every race, tradition and so on. That's why Miami is Magic City, like no other city.

A BIG HELP WOULD BE HANDING OUT CONDOMS & CLEAN NEEDLES THOSE TWO SIMPLE ITEMS WILL PREVENT BABY'S THAT CANT BE TAKEN CARE OF OR NOT WANTED & CLEAN NEEDLES WILL HOPEFULLY PREVENT FOLKS FROM SPREADING THERE DISEASES , TO MANY OF THE FOLKS DOWN THERE ESPECIALLY THE SINGLE MOTHERS & THE MALES THAT NO, THEY CANT AFFORD A NEW OR ANOTHER CHILD ITS CALLED TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ONE'S ACTIONS !!!! BUT IF THEY DONT USE SUCH ITEMS EVEN WHEN THERE AVAILABLE FOR FREE IS LIKE THE OLD SAYING YOU CAN BUY THE BOOKS & SEND THEM TO SCHOOL BUT ITS UP TO THEM TO DO RIGHT OR CONTINUE SETTING A PISS POOR EXAMPLE OF THEMSELVES & ( DESTROYING ) THEMSELVES & THERE RACE FROM THE INSIDE OUT....
