Hey man! Great video! I have an 07 duramax classic body style. Installed my mirrors exactly they way your described. Everything works.. except the backup lights. Which I find odd. After further investigation seems the trailer wiring in the rear of the truck is completely jacked up. Wires exposed, twisted together with just tape, Etc. Could this be the source of my problems? ( mirror LED not working in Reverse)?
The drill a small hole in fuse box is a great tip, probably just as important as knowing there could be a tweaker behind the door panel I do live in the East Bay CA. My 06 LBZ has standard car mirrors and the rubber band tow mirror strap ons are just as good at screwing you as their cousins. I bought Sanoor switchback mirrors, look identical to yours. Installing tomorrow. what brand is that?, maybe spell it backwards if you can't rep the brand.
im trying to hook up my reverse lights on my mirrors, did you combine the left mirror + with right + mirror into one wire then fuse tap it to the trailer back up?
I followed your steps and I have the same mirrors and same 6 wires But I couldn’t get the running lights to stay on While driving I have a 2008 Silverado 1500
DerxGarage yea I did The trailer backup fuse has the original fuse ( 15 ) and I added another exact fuse on the fuse tap But does it have to be the same fuse as the old one or it doesn’t matter. I’m not a big wiring guy I got the cargo lights to work but I want the running daytime lights What color did you put for the trailer backup fuse tap The blue or white
bowtie 5.3 I used the same fuse. It shouldn’t matter but might as well try. Also you are supposed to use the fuse tap for the trailer brake as well. If that doesn’t work try to post a video on your TH-cam of the wiring and I’ll take a look and try to help. Sometimes wires can be weird. Even if you think you did it right maybe a connection isn’t strong. If the running lights don’t stay on, that has to do with the fuse taps. So just make sure they have a good crimp and are tapped into the other fuse correctly.
I don’t know about the dome light. The reason you tap into trailer back up is because it’s made for the reverse lights on a trailer to come on and off which is what you want the mirrors to do. No reason not to tap into that fuse.

Hey man, I installed these mirrors on my 04 Silverado today. I ran the wires the same way you did, fuse taps and all, but the led clearance lights only flash on when I hit my unlock button on the remote and then shut off right away again, also the front lights only work as signals and don’t stay on all the time. Any suggestions ?
I taped into the trailer park as well as trailer back up. However, the reverse lights that came on my mirror only come with 2 wires for them, one is the positive and one is the negative for that led light. Any idea how to wire them in so they will work as courtesy lights and/or reverse?

Mine have a red wire black wire and a blue or purple wire I’m not sure which one of these wires I could use for running lights

What amp fuse did you use for the reverse lights?
I honestly can’t remember. I would say maybe a 20? Should matter as long as you are between 15 and 30
Did you need a resistor to avoid hyper flash ?
No I never had that issue

Why not tap the running light wire into the turn signal so you can have the benefit of both running and flashing?

Dose the turn signals works in this method? I have the same set up and thought I had to do some wiring underneath the steering wheel.

so I want to do the dome light not the reverse light on my 02 lb7 but the lights on the mirror stay on and don't go off
I don’t know about the dome light. The reason you tap into trailer back up is because it’s made for the reverse lights on a trailer to come on and off which is what you want the mirrors to do. No reason not to tap into that fuse.

The little leds are just for the reverse lights.
