Any time Brian Eno is interviewed he is such a cerebral and engaging man. Down right charming.
This interview is one of the most insightful. I feel like I grew up next door after listening to him. The interviewer was not only well informed but appreciated Brian’s music and conceptual ideas. One of the best.
My grandfather’s mechanical instruments were the synthesizers of that age
Bravo
Brian Eno is one hell of a producer....his ambient music is exellent,i listen to his music everyday in the hustle of manchester....it gets me through the day :)
this man is absolutely genius. i love his working with Harold Budd and also when he was the producer of some U2's album with Daniel Lanois
Not just a producer, his music has greater influence.
The arabic singer he mentions is Farid Al-Atrache, the song Hebeena Hebeena. In case anyone else couldnt make out what he was saying.
Farid Elatrash was awarded and honored as the 3rd great world wide composer side by side with Bethoven and Shoppin. May his soul rest in peace 🙏
Farid Elatrash is a well know composer and singer all over the world .
.40 of his songs were translated to different languages and sang by well known international singers all over the world ..1962 Farid Elatrash was the 3rd musicians who won the Franch award same as Shoppin ..In 2015 Farid Elatrash with 2 others international singers Frank Sinatra and Edith Piaph were recognized and awarded by the UNESCO ...In 1986 the BEATLE'S added one of Farid Elatrash song to their record REVOLUTION 9....
fantastic, thanks a lot!
Eno seems so warm and sincere and genuine. a creative genius, No wonder he and Bowie worked so swimmingly together. skylarking
I love Eno’s albums when he sings. I always wish an interviewer would ask him if he misses writing lyrics
Great interview
What a great story teller. So bright, insightful, candid, humorous, and a rarity, modest.
Eno is one of the most important modern musical geniuses, in my opinion, and I really like this interview. Thank you for posting.
One On One backwards is Eno No Eno !!!
Marvelous man; such an inspiration
I feel inspired already. Thanks
Brilliant interview many thanks Eno is a lovely bloke
GREAT MAN BIG MASTER AN ANGEL
I got a huge Eno collection in Israel :-) But i agree 100% with his views about the horrific occupation
Stumbled upon this comment today, and I hope your views are still the same three years later, but this is so heartening to see. Especially amidst the ongoing horrors in Gaza and the West Bank.
Nice to get yet another perspective on this phenom of a man. These stories are music history. Great guy it seems all these years. 🖖Hugest fan I just got his latest release on Blu Ray multichannel mixes of FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE It's sublime in surround as expected. 🌚 🌘🌗🌖🌕🌔🌓🌒
Here's to Brian, The Absolute Genius!
Greetings from Sarajevo, Maestro!
great lead question. love eno
I'm sure every artist would like him to produce there records I guess he wouldn't come cheap after all he is the best
great interview
great interview and a great musician!
Got to agree with him on Fela Kuti , Black President , amazing album. You can thank me later 😀
22::00 After quickly talking about the Israel-Palestine crisis, that cool designer swastika makes sense. That thing is dope.
A tremndous Music talent
Produced "Heroes" from Bowie. Extraordinaire album.
What year was this recorded?
Conny Plank was an intelligent genius in terms of sound like Martin Hannet and an inventor to boot. Now he was quite friendly with Eno due to his work with Cluster Moebius and Harmonia, but when Eno came into the studio with Bowie, Plank threw Eno out.
21:00 nice little jab at Israel there
@ThomasJeromeNewton Who wanted Conny Plank? Bowie and Eno? I haven't heard that before, and I didn't know Plank hated Bowie. I have just read one interview with Plank, and he did not strike me as a very intelligent person unlike Bowie, Eno, and Visconti. By the way, I think Visconti did maybe his best work on Low, "Heroes", and Scary Monsters. The production of Lodger is somewhat lacking for some reason. Then again Heathen is great.
Ambient.
There is dead pixel on the top right side. You notice it most when it's about an inch from Mr. Khan's head or on the curtain when the camera is pointing at Eno. Great interview!
what is the interviewers name?
ENO IS FROZEN ICE
they never talked about the microsoft sound!
@ivankaramasov actuvlly originally they wanted Conny plank but he hated bowie.
LOL The interviewer said that Brian 'had a fatal accident' LOL.
Yeah I laughed too.
@usergently This is a myth. Can't people just read the credits on the albums? They state very clearly "Produced by Tony Visconti and David Bowie". Tony Visconti has several times expressed his disappointment that journalists keep giving Eno the credits for producing Bowie's so-called Berlin-trilogy. He worked on these albums as a musician and co-composer.
windows 95.
wow i thought that was Christopher Hitchens from the thumbnail.. didn't even read the title hah.
he uses orgone energy
A big thumbs up for supporting the plight of Palestinians but working with U2 (Bono..yuk) and Coldplay (Chris Martin..please get a vaccine asap) and Windows theme (Bill Vaccine Gates) you can't get much more establishment figures and pro Israel. Eno now backs Extinction Rebellion animated short films with silly piano repeated piano chords,. I just wonder how the likes of him and his mate Brian Ferry who came from a 'working class' family but in reality a real toff with his son Otis orchestrated House of Commons demo in support of fox hunting, became members of the 'inner circle'. It seems that Glam Rock was part of the agenda and particularly the gender bender aspect that has now become entrenched into mainstream. i am not sure what connections Eno had but the way Roxy became famous overnight with Brian and his tape recorder stories sounds a little on the enchanting side but in reality bands have to work very hard, constantly touring to make it big. I think the likes of him, Roxy, U2, Coldplay etc are all Chosen and given the script, supported by Big Bro Co for which they are extremely well rewarded (financially) but not ethically as they have their alter ego's to live with..
