This Supergirl movie is shaping up to be something truly epic from everything we hear about it. I can't wait to experience this fantastic story in big screen. Also Happy Belated birthday coy!!!
I was really hoping Chris Pine was going to be cast as Hal Jordan. I'm interested to see how this is all going to play out with Hal as a character. We all assume death/Parallax route, but who knows. Maybe the Parallax story has already happened in-universe. Also, with an older Hal, I really hope we get flashbacks of a younger Hal. I'm thinking maybe Barry/Ollie/Bruce/etc will all be close in age, possibly setting up a prequel timeline for DC. Lindelof loves his flashbacks, so I'm holding out some hope for that. The Penguin is spectacular so far! Comics I got around to reading this week: Green Lantern #15 (Jeremy Adams just gets the character of Hal so well! The proto batplane stuff with Hal was spot on.) Lobo Cancelation Special #1 Amazing art, atmosphere, and dark humor. Felt like a classic 90s Lobo book. Geiger #6 Johns/Frank are just crushing it! Wolverine Revenge #2 pretty solid Ultimate Spider-Man #9 I read a few other things, but those stuck out the most this week for me. I may be more behind than you 😂
As it pertains to the reports that Kyle Chandler's contract is only for the one season, I could see a scenario where they don't kill him off but rather are only prepared for a one project contract. Because if we are at a point where the first project hasn't even released yet, the executives James Gunn, Peter Safran, etc. don't feel comfortable locking someone in for multiple projects if there is a chance that this universe doesn't go past the projects already in production.
Really excited for Matthias Schoenaerts as Supergirl's Krem. Dude's got intensity and great screen presence. Loved him in his latest stint as Zubak in Kate Winslet's 'The Regime' miniseries. Y'all gotta see him in Bullhead, especially the unforgettable elevator scene. Thanks for this update, Coy!
That's some excellent catching up, brah. You've completely sold me on The Tin Can Society, very intriguing! Plus - I now wanna smell the world that Constantine lives in...
3:15 Stephen James is a great actor I’d check out “if Beale street could talk” , he shows off the soft spoken but determined and stern personality of John. Plus it’s just an amazing movie with a stellar cast.
Definitely Aaron Pierre would be my choice. Another Brit coming to the states to steal our jobs 😂 but I 1000% put my stamp of approval on his casting. Rebel Ridge is a sleeper hit, and he plays a marine. It's almost like Rebel Ridge was his audition to play John Stewart. He also had a role in SyFy channels Krypton, M Knight's movie Old, Malcom X in the National Geo series Genius, but what I first remember him is his role in Barry Jenkins, The Underground Railroad. An amazing performance. London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Othello.. This guy can act, and he has the stature to match!! Kyle Chandler is an interesting choice if we're talking about a "True Detective" type of show. The older grizzled vet matched with the younger cop.. he's almost 60 but if that's the type of story we're going with, then ok. Ps.. Leaving a link to the trailer for Rebel Ridge. Partly b/c it's a good film but also, I think you should watch to see Pierre's performance as a casting choice for John Stewart... This is First Blood meets Walking Tall that has a little bit of David Fincher in it. Don Johnson also delivers a great performance in this! th-cam.com/video/gF3gZicntIw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8v_ZixbDdI2syBET
@@kenjisparks I thought he was excellent in that series. Loved him in another Barry Jenkins project, If Beale Street Could Talk. I felt that in Homecoming Julia Roberts is the main focus, so we really don't see much of SJ but the parts he's in showcase his talent. BUT! This is still my choice for Green Lantern. th-cam.com/video/aMYMNX7qFtY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kWWQG_atr9COty3Q
I'm reading DC books on their app, so I'm a couple weeks behind, but I really enjoyed issue 3 of the Zatanna book. This book is visually loopy and an interesting origin story. I don't know how it slots into canon or mainstream continuity, but then DC seems to have pretty much given up on trying to stitch together one continuity. I find that pretty funny considering how much effort they used to put into that with their seemingly endless crisis events. I'm also keeping up with all the Absolute Power tie-ins, speaking of continuity, and among those, I particularly liked Hal Jordan's breakout in Green Lantern 14.
I am the AAA audience. I love this show. Penguin is good but I just can't get into it. I watch all the commentaries but find it difficult to remain focused while watching the show. I think I'm just wanting something more lighthearted (yet horror based) like AAA right now instead of heavy like Penguin.
Do you think Andy muschietti is still the right guy to direct brave and the bold? I just don’t have confidence in him. I really wish they got someone like Sam Mendes who directed skyfall and spectre or Denis villenueve.
I'm watching Agatha, and having a good time. But I think Marvel lost a lot with so many bad shows. People just don't care anymore. I myself hadn't watched any Marvel series since Hawkeye. When Moon Knight came out I was churning Disney plus, and as reviews were bad, I never watched it. And it happened with all the other Marvel series after that. (Excet for Loki s2, which I never cared to watch either...) I don't quite know what interests me in Agatha, but I was on for it.
Ive not been as deep into most stuff since the fun got sucked out of it post endgame, that said willfully leaving the space and actively becoming a casual fan that knows nothing. Kyle Candler is a great pick, for John Stewart either actor will work for me, what i want to see is the actual willpower that John Stewart has on screen. John is may favorite Lantern because he is grounded and the most emotionally strongest of the humans in the Corp. His military & engineer background makes him one of the most capable Lanterns as far as believability on what he does. I hope they translate that into the show, I want John's natural abilities to shine well before he gets the ring
X-men....I miss Karkoa. Thats it the fear trope is/has been boring since it never evolved from basically the beginning. Now to constantly fear mutants globally with the mutants in Wakanda, Atlantis, Latveria AND Karkoa is a world I want to see. With Arakko as backup 5th player in the stories we could have had so many new stories. I can go get the single issues of the Karkoan era and just read in nostalgia of a hope when we actually had a great 5 year run.
Yeah I dunno about your take on the viewership stuff for Agatha and Penguin, man. Neither show is blowing the doors off in terms of viewership and Nielsen’s metrics are notoriously poorly constructed for capturing streaming metrics, but both shows seem to be doing fine. Clear wins for both streaming platforms so far.
Also seems important to note that Agatha is in no way looking for a renewal. Jury is out on the Penguin, I think, but Agatha at least is clearly supposed to be a standalone single season in the vein of Wandavision, and the second part of a three part story culminating with the Vision show.
@@kenjisparks I think reeves has said they already have ideas for a potential season 2, but that the story doesn’t *have* to go there. It could end at one season, it could keep going if it’s a big enough hit. But Agatha is one season, hard stop, no real debate from anyone. I think that distinction (even if we agree Penguin will likely end up a single season) is important

Him being the mentor and then becoming Parallax is what I am hoping to see in this series.
Alan Tudyk for all we know he could be just doing the narration like in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Conan movies.
I hope the Supergirl villain is “ Neron “ giving out candles and what a person wishes for for their soul !
DEEP CUTS!
