- “I directed the first Spider-Man film because I was such a huge fan of Stan Lee’s brilliant character. Peter Parker and Spider-Man were an important part of my teenage years. I thought it was very moving how much he sacrificed for others. How hard he worked to protect innocent people. And all the while had to take care of his Aunt May and do his homework to boot. His self-sacrifice resonated with me. He was truly a good person. We can identify with Characters in a comprehensible story. Stories of heroes, like Peter Parker, remind us of what we are capable of. Maybe you’re one of those people that like to be reminded of the good you are capable of. Now get out there and do something about it.“ - Sam Raimi.
A very personal passion project that I wanted to share with TH-cam. I did my best to make the film watchable but to ensure that my hard work was not stolen by anyone. This was in June of 2022, a month after the 20th anniversary; nonetheless, it was great to go to a sold-out theater with Spidey fans to celebrate his first cinematic adventure. Enjoy!

i love the cheering after the "you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us" line, because after the towers got hit THIS is the movie people needed and that line brung it home for everyone.

Watched this when I was 6 with my dad. Still my favorite superhero origin movie. Tobey Maguire is Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Sam Raimi was the perfect director to make this film.

The fact that the audience cheers and laughs at the legendary Norman Osborn “you know I’m something of a scientist myself” meme just makes me even more proud to be part of the sam raimi Spider-Man movie memes community and a fan of both the movies and the memes

The entire movie and trilogy is meme-able no scene in thr trilogy will ever be taken seriously except for uncle ben’s death
I never watched this in the theater when it came out but my father or uncle who bought the disc for this movie was a pirated one so we watched it with a live reaction from the crowd lol. Didn't know that a decade or so later that those types of footages will become history.
I was just 2 years old when my mom took me to theaters and watch this film,
And i had a amazing experience with this film in theaters and it became one of my personal favorite Comic Book/Superhero Origin Movies of all-time.
And it was also my very first Comic Book Movie i seen.
Along with my very first Comic Book Superhero.
Man,i love this movie.

And I hate how everybody who dislikes the tobey spiderman saying thst he wasn’t funny like in the comics but hear the audience is laughing at damn there everything he did from beginning to end, they didn’t make him over the top goofy like Tom Holland but he was still oddly funny

Yes, they did a screening last year in March of 2023. I have the audio, just working to get a copy of the movie to create a similar video later this year.

@@VERsingthegamez Depends on the theater sometimes, it's smaller theaters that host these screenings for special occasions.

This was at the New Beverly Theatre back in 2022.
@@SM-1962 Oh because at the Del Monte theatre in Monterey they didn't play this but they did play Shrek 2.

I wish it was, but no. It was a special 20th anniversary screening last year in June of 2022. I have a video for Spider-Man 2 (2004) lined up for next year.
