FOB couldn’t ever exist without Stump. But then there’s Patrick’s solo work clearly it’s a much needed symbiosis. Ps. I love Soul Punk. But it can’t touch FOB
The way they played folie songs then when fans wanted them feels a lot different than how they play folie songs now. Like you have coffees for closers for the 8ball song but the attitude now is "look you gatekeeping hipsters we are playing something you think everyone forgot about" and theres too much nostalgia and with these performances those fucking guitar solos is so awesome
I really don’t think there was another pop punk band of this caliber at the time. FOB always got lumped in with so many other great acts of their time, but this was and is to this day something really unique and special. It will always be my guilty pleasure that no one else seems to understand
@@vinzentgaming8070 I feel so reluctant to tell anyone that FOB is my favorite band. Their top song on Spotify is “Centuries”… they’re so much more than that. And I have to say also how pleased I am with their new record. I hope there’s years more to come
Honestly. Like yes technically speaking it leaves a lot to be desired but the just pure passion and energy that went into this performence is unmatched.
Save rock and roll was peak. Patrick’s solo tour did miracles for him. I love his voice now but I agree - he had to change his style of singing to protect his vocal cords.

Just found this concert, absolute nostalgia. I grew up in northern IL, obsessed with them since 2004-- I live in Milwaukee now (home of MPTV in the corner of this video) and the congruence is just amazing.
Definitely some pretty heavy pitch correction going on with the vocals....but I think they're playing live with plenty of backing tracks/possibly drum samples
@Amelia Listen to "butterfly bandage, but don't worry" on Water Buffaloes. No vibrato whatsoever and it quickly jumps to the right note. Patrick is an awesome singer but they definitely have pitch correction going on here. Whether it was the band's choice or not we don't know. May have been done in post. Big media people used to be very particular about these kind of decisions for live performances
21:48 I'm sorry, is that... JOE DOING BACKING VOCALS?! Holy SHIT, I don't think I've ever seen or heard that. And he's doing a HIGHER PITCH LINE THAN PATRICK?!?!? the fuck is this live rendition? Too many conflicting feelings, think my hearts failing
they still haven't played it and a few others from Folie! Hopefully we get more Folie 8-Balls throughout the end of (Tour) Dust and the whole of (2our) Dust until the whole album is played, and i hope I get that song in specific
2009 soundstage my beloved i will always come back to you
literally unbelievable how consistent patrick's vocals are through this. fob songs are so ridiculously difficult to sing.
Patrick carries so much of the burden. He plays tight rhythm, hard vocals, and never loses pitch whole set. That’s some expert stuff right there
Yessss
that doesn't mean the other 3 dont do their share
FOB couldn’t ever exist without Stump. But then there’s Patrick’s solo work clearly it’s a much needed symbiosis.
Ps. I love Soul Punk. But it can’t touch FOB
i was just about to say this, he never lost pitch the whole set fuckin NUTSSSS
He's an underrated front man for sure
I love how the stage lights give Patrick the most intense eyebrows lmao
Folie is a masterpiece
Agreed
am going to check out this album based on these comments.
so ahead of its time
It really is. People didn't appreciate it at the time but I feel like people now are reappraising it. Which is excellent.
@miguelrionda what did you think of it?
I miss this era so much. Short lived but this album was absolutely their magnum opus IMO
I became a fan after the hiatus listening to their older albums and this is by far my all time favorite everything just meshes so well together
The best is take this to your grave to from under the cork tree. The newer stuff ain’t Fall out boy/Pete wentz. It’s commercialism.

@@gavin1114 nah man if they dont know who FOB is then is their loss
I understand.
I’ll never not believe this was the best live recorded performance they’ve done.
"i wanna be like you"

I will always say this Patrick looks so biteable in this. I need him❗️
fine i'll say it's their best performance ever recorded
Losing count of the number of times I've seen this now! Patrick is perfection. HSICOABB live just does something to me!!!
Their best album fr
Best performance of sixteen candles ever imo
Ahhh... it's so good to see a performance of theirs from 2009 in HD. Thank you so much for this!
You’re welcome :) I might have some other short performances in my archive, so keep an eye out
The fact that they played more than half of Folie in this show is insanely cool.
I was looking so badly for this concert, I remember seeing In HBO, me and my friends loved
I hunted this down for months after it came out and now it’s just… here all this time later. Early TH-cam was weird
headfirst is such a good ass song ugh
Such a dope setlist bc it was right when Folie A Deux came out, but the crowd is a little lackluster
gonna give Folie a listen or 20, haven't gotten that deep into the FOB catalog
These are just seat fillers honestly it’s like the crowd in guitar hero
and now we've got better crowds and Folie back on the menu
I was at this show, most of the people in the front were hired models, I overheard them talking about what agencies they worked for. Super lame.
@@marykatechandler4175omg you’re so lucky to have been there 😭 Hope you had a great time!
this is the best timeline
This is so great!!! How did this music ever slip past me back in 2008!? Amazing performance too
2024 still love this video
Peak FOB if you ask me

the guitar line in sugar we're going down is INSANE
makes my heart so full. so much magic and melancholy in this performance.

How great, i saw some of this performances, thks fr th video)
Patrick is such an amazing vocalist!!
I find it funny that Pete doesn't know he's not the star. It's almost like he's in a different band. 🤣
Thank you for uploading!
20:40 - 20:52 I ascended to heaven

Shame they never did 27 live

I was going to put something more original but figured might as well not ruin the trend
Anyone notice at 15:46 that andy is out of sync during I Don't Care? Were the songs prerecorded and then lipsynced over?
probably just a bad edit or something. its definitely live, but that is kinda weird

bad edit the drums are real at least. Petes bass is backtracked tho

Melhor apresentação desses caras antes da banda acabar. Melhor repertório.
can someone time stamp the part where the sponsored by fall out 3 pops up i swear i saw it one time watching now i can’t find it
wait where are the wires, why aren't any of their guitars attached to any amps?
Wireless inputs
