*Wow Darren, that's amazing! So much time has passed that they've released Mini 4! I've still got the Mini 2 from back when I initially watched your channel. I'm happy to see there's a major improvement with the Mini 4 though. I tried flying the Mini 2 in the countryside with a hill blocking my range so I only got about 700 meters before I lost it completely and it activated RTH. I wonder if Mini 4 can handle it better*
Being a newbie in the drone world I'm really glad I've come across this channel, I'm finding the videos and all the information extremely helpful, thank you!!
DJI have definitely considered the thermal performance of the M3P. Three ways to tell, the drone will enter an "ECO" mode if left on for prolonged periods. This turns off obstacle avoidance sensors, gimbal motors etc. Next the unified ventilation behind the camera and gimbal combined with the spaces through the rear chassis allows easy airflow through the aircraft.
Annoyed to find my M3P filters didn't fit my new 4 but pleased to find you can upload directly from the SD card without turning the drone on. My biggest concern is the 120m setting as each winter and summer I fly a lot in the Alps, always a lot lower than 120m of terrain but often probably higher than 120m from me.
@Matanumi @Matanumi if so, there was no App update either. Philip Skraba covered it in depth. I have the same issue but the other way round. I live on top of a cliff edge with a sharp 250m drop. I tend to fly my drone down along the cliff walls to capture sunsets etc. My concern is that should the drone lose signal and start the RTH sequence how will it distinguish where the 120M flight height starts? If it goes up 120M from it's current location it will definitley not be enough to clear the cliff walls resulting in the loss of the drone once the batteries drain from it being stuck stationery in one spot. This EU law is stupid imo, one should just have a disclaimer claiming responsibilty if they fly above 120M as it was before. It shouldn't be a difficult thing to control since now we will have remote ID etc
Just to add, in case people are wondering; no, the 120 m restriction won't come to *all* sub 250g drones. Only the ones that take advantage of a C0 classification, which are Mini 2 SE, Mini 3/Pro, and Mini 4 Pro. Other drones will fall into the legacy category, and without a C0 classification, there's no reason to impose that restriction. Also, the same applies to C1. Any drone that is released on the market in the EU after 1/1 2024 however, will have to have a C classification, otherwise it cannot be flown in the open category and A1/A3 airspace.
@@Ad_Alta You will not "escape" it, at least not on paper. Those drones will be able to fly in "A1 restricted", however I've yet to find a definition of what that is. Also, legacy sub 250g drones can only fit in this category if they have a declared MTOM of 249g or lower. No drones carry this declaration that are not C0 already. Therefore legacy sub 250g drones will only be allowed in the A3 category. On paper, that is.

The Integra Goggles firmware V 01.04.0000 and the MC2 firmware V 01.06.0000 had just added support for the Air3. This means that either the Integra and the MC2 supports O4, or better yet, and as expected, the Air 3 offers backward compatibility to O3, which in turn suggests the the same is expected with the Mini 4 Pro, and potentially any future O4 based drone.
Great video! I got a question (might be a stupid question haha). I've had a mini 2 for almost 2 years now, and I am going to upgrade... Should I go for Air 3 or the Mini 4 Pro?
In a court of law it would be difficult to argue over a couple of grams of weight having weighed a drone in the field. How accurate are the scales? Were they calibrated? How were they calibrated? What surface was used to place the scales on? Was the result within a range of error? Was the weighing procedure carried out in accordance with a protocol and can it be shown that it was done correctly? Were there any other factors that could have led to an erroneous result?

Really glad we can override here in the US. I've got the Mavic pro 2. I'm thinking about selling it and getting the mini 4 pro. Aside from the size and wind issues, any reasons this would be a downgrade?
Did you end up doing this? I just upgraded to the mini 4 pro from my mavic pro 1st edition and I’m excited. I won’t have it till end of the week though
I'm thinking in buying this one or wait for the 5. However this altitude limit in Europe is driving me crazy. In the beginning of the year there was a chance of removing the limit removing the seal but I think that now that doesn't work.
Curios. I just purchased the mini pro 4 fly more combo plus. First thing I did when unboxed was weigh it with the supplied battery in. It weighed 291grams. Does this mean my scales are faulty or would this be correct. Also does this mean I need to register it or something, which I did not want to have to do hence buying this model. Are you able to explain for me please. thanks in advance.
@@DMProductions thanks, picture quality looks very similar to Air3 so perhaps it’s far more the processing that makes the difference rather than the stacked sensor, as it’s difficult to tell over youtube. In your opinion is the Air 3 camera better or worse than the M3P or the same?
Great video. Definitely going to go and checkout your Cinematic luts. Am I being dumb(probably) or is there a way to change quickshots to D log. When I have quickshots open I can't see the same video settings menu and even when normal video set to dlog it records quickshots in rec 709 :?
So if I am a current owner of the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom would this be worth it to up grade with the new technology to the DJI Mini 4 Pro, which after watching many videos this drone gets blown around pretty good in the wind... Or upgrade to the Air 3 and hope that it gets the firmware update?
I was going to upgrade to the mini 4 pro, the Air 3, or the MAVIC 3 pro. Since they don’t support mapping software I’m going to stick to older drones that do and also don’t Geo fence me. In addition, the inability to use an existing controller with the mini 4 pro or Air 3 is a deal breaker as well. Apparently I more DJI drones for me even though I love my two current ones.
on a waypoint flight can the Mini 4 Pro continue the mission on signal loss from the controller like the Macic 3 can ? or is it flying on virtual sticks ?
@@User_ccYes. Worse-DJI can change it remotely somehow- they changed it last week to 500m without a FW installation. So Mini 3 isn't the way around thus #@!
I have a nice set of Freewell Filters for my Mini 4 Pro will be testing them soon as always buy these and have them for my Mavic 3 Pro, Mini 3 Pro and Avata
Afternoon Darren, when I bought my mini 4 pro I also got the three filters. One thing I was annoyed about was that I bought 2 year care refresh. But I asked if I could have the year I had left on my mini 3 pro transferred to my new mini 4 and it was a definite NO. I’m in a huff. Keep the cheat sheets coming, I still use mine and there brilliant. I carry them with me all the time, it only takes a minute to make sure I have the right settings to take a picture or video so keep them coming. Have a good week and I look forward to your next informative video. Thank you ❤
yes it would be good if you could transfer it I agree or at least get a refund or credit on the unused months? Sure mate I'm working on them in the background, as you can imagine they are very detailed with a lot of things to cover over the mini 3. Take care mate
You definitely can't transfer the care refresh if selling, it specifically says so in the T & C's. I managed to get a £20 store credit for my remaining 8 months care refresh when I sold my mini 3 pro, better than nothing.
Is the 120m limit a hard limit in the app? Last week I took my Mini 2 to a mountain area and I kept 120m FROM THE GROUND but the hill goes up 350m so technically, I was at 470m from the takeoff location. Is that a limitation for the Mini 3 and 4 Pro? That is, would I have to land and take off again in increments to get to the top of that mountain? With the Mini 2 I just increased the limit to 500m and kept it at about 100m manually as I went up.
@@DMProductions I guess in that case, I would have to take off from the top of the mountain and then fly down to avoid that issue. It is kind of dumb unless they implemented a way for the drone to know it is at 120m from the ground and not from take off. It would not be hard to do if either the bottom sensor could sense that far (120m) or the software use the GPS coordinates to decide the max altitude at that particular point.
Great video thanks. Can you please clear up the 400 foot ruling in the UK? I never set above 400” unless in the hills and thought this was a CAA rule? Have I been capping my flights for no reason? Thanks
@@DMProductionsThanks. I didn’t take that meaning from what you said. I tried today and had to take responsibility for doing so. Enjoy the videos you make thanks.
they HAVE to have a calibration certificate from a known laboratory which uses traceble standards and be accurate or correctable across their entire weight/temperature range AS WELL (temperature with sensors is very important) . Ask to see it, then refuse to hand over the drone until they produce such a serial numbered document, testing it in-house with a bag of police canteen sugar means nothing. While they are busy running around going mad slip the underweight battery in. 1 or 2 grammes is totally ridiculous as a limit and IMHO would not stand up in court. If I really thought I was having a bad day leading to a worse week, I would stamp on the drone (sadly), at least it could be argued that after they swept its bits up a 2 gramme stone got caught in the scuttle. I live in Thailand the land of NO traffic wardens , "any trouble ossifer? Oh ok, here's a tenner (500 Thai Bhat) have a nice day"
lighter yes, but as for flying longer, the difference is so little you wont notice the difference especially in conditions that drain battery life faster.
Obviously the 04 Video System is the newest. Based on past DJI products, how long before you think it will take before DJI will come out with 04 Video Goggles and higher resolution Controllers for the Mini 4 Pro?
They should leave it to the consumer to set the height restriction. We drive cars on roads with speed limits but auto manufacturers don’t restrict engine performance to suit those. Consumer responsibility, DJI have already done enough by giving us the option to set our own height setting without caving in to the EU’s nanny state antics.

@@DMProductionsohh. That's actually not bad. I never really go above 120m anyway. But I thought the new law was 120m altogether. I'll definitely buy the mini 4 now
@@DMProductions or fly half way up, land, then take off again surely?
I just got a mini 3 pro about 6 months ago, should I upgrade already?
Depends on your answers to the following. how often do you fly? what do you use it for? Is your current drone fit for that purpose? can you live without obsticle avoidance 360, way points and enhanced active track?
Question... I'm using a 256Gig U3 Class 10 card, properly formatted and getting short video times (files), 3 to 4 minutes, am I doing something wrong? Thanks.....
Hello Sir, could you please revert Whether Mapping and Surveillance, through Dji MINI 4 PRO.
How much does the mini 4 pro weigh with either the nd filters or the wide angle lens?
I bought a mini 4 pro but the sticker makes it 251g is it a problem?
You got the package with the plus batteries in it, as you know by now.
The question I can’t seem to find anyone giving a definitive answer to is does the M4P have a stacked sensor or not?
no - there you go
@@DMProductions thanks, picture quality looks very similar to Air3 so perhaps it’s far more the processing that makes the difference rather than the stacked sensor, as it’s difficult to tell over youtube.
Hi,is the basic controller with the mini 4 still ocusync 4.0 or just the new RC2?
Are the propellers compatible with mini 3 pro and mini 4 pro?
Does it have a 1" sensor?
I was going to upgrade to the mini 4 pro, the Air 3, or the MAVIC 3 pro.
Since they don’t support mapping software I’m going to stick to older drones that do and also don’t Geo fence me.
In addition, the inability to use an existing controller with the mini 4 pro or Air 3 is a deal breaker as well.
Apparently I more DJI drones for me even though I love my two current ones.
on a waypoint flight can the Mini 4 Pro continue the mission on signal loss from the controller like the Macic 3 can ? or is it flying on virtual sticks ?
Not in Europe. It may be possible in UK but can't confirm. For sure it is possible in US.
Here in the US we can override this to 500m by accepting responsibility
In EU is same, but not for long.
@@User_ccis this 120m limit is for all drone in EU?
@@User_ccYes. Worse-DJI can change it remotely somehow- they changed it last week to 500m without a FW installation. So Mini 3 isn't the way around thus #@!
@BlairAir not true, 500 Meter is fixed by an fw-update! Newer bring it back to wlan, an dji cannot do anything in future to your drone!
He says that in the video.
@@DMProductions I even asked if they would give me free delivery on an extra battery, they weren’t having that either.
Take care my friend 👍
You can tf the cover if you sell the mini 3 I think.
@@Ifyoudonttakeitucantfakeit yes your right. But I sold the mini 3
Yeah from 2024 it’ll be 120m hard limit from take off point but that’s just in EU
I have the original mavic mini so this will be a massive upgrade for me great channel 👍
ah huge upgrade yes !
Great video thanks. Can you please clear up the 400 foot ruling in the UK?
I never set above 400” unless in the hills and thought this was a CAA rule? Have I been capping my flights for no reason?
Thanks
its 120m / 400ft above the ground your standing on. So if walking up a big hill or mountain you can adjust the max height accordingly
@@DMProductionsThanks. I didn’t take that meaning from what you said. I tried today and had to take responsibility for doing so. Enjoy the videos you make thanks.
Not enough updates, keeping my mini3pro.
Is there any way to stream from mini 4 pro ?
Scales out of his pocket... 😂😂😂 Love it..
I hear the caa are now being issued with portable scales 😂
@@DMProductions 🙈.. The world's gone mad.. 🙈🙈😂😂😂😂
Love it keep up the good work..
they HAVE to have a calibration certificate from a known laboratory which uses traceble standards and be accurate or correctable across their entire weight/temperature range AS WELL (temperature with sensors is very important) . Oh ok, here's a tenner (500 Thai Bhat) have a nice day"
So that means if you use the mini 4 pro batteries on the mini 3 pro, it should make the mini 3 pro even lighter and fly longer? 🤔
lighter yes, but as for flying longer, the difference is so little you wont notice the difference especially in conditions that drain battery life faster.
Thanks for the video 😊
U think they can do a firmware update in the future so the rc pro will work with oc sync 4 drones
would be great but I've asked the question and not possible
@@DMProductions that's shit then init 😒
Wow, I almost ordered the mini4 pro, not now, I have a bunch of filters, such a bummer.
What changed your mind? Lack of filter compatibility?
@@andraskarsai Yes, such an unnecessary thing having different filter mount.
strange: I flew in France today (w/ mini 3 pro) and the 120m limit still applied :(
Did I miss an update?
Good video. I’ve got a Mini3 Pro - I don’t think I’ll upgrade this time!
Do you have any tutorial videos on the practical application of your LUTs?
Do they still have crap range in uk ??
Range is very good
Great video, great channel 👍
Thank you 👍
Obviously the 04 Video System is the newest. Based on past DJI products, how long before you think it will take before DJI will come out with 04 Video Goggles and higher resolution Controllers for the Mini 4 Pro?
Great information, and thanks sharing.
We need the Mini 4 Pro Cheat Sheets. Not on your website yet. I bought the Mini 3 Pro and the Avata Cheat sheets
Will be coming soon 😊
Keep it up great video
Thanks, will do!
