I lived on Hornet rd. It's sad for me to see how the base was abandoned. I was 4 when my dad was stationed there and 7 when we left. My younger brother was born in that hospital and my older sister and I walked to school. We also collected crabs for a man that would pay us for them. Short lived since my mother found out. I loved living there and I have some amazing memories. I had a few hermit crabs as pets. They lived outside. My mother had plants growing indoors and allowed the local lizards to make a home in them. I could go on for days. Thank you Sammy for these videos!! You are so kind to post them.

I think I lived somewhere on WASP circle somewhere during the early 70's, as a child the name sounds familiar, definitely did not look like an abandoned jungle house back then...

Could you check out house 20 Yorktown circle. We were there back the 70's. My dad ran the movie theater, bundy gym, carpool. I remember you showing the church. I did my catechism to become a catholic there.I loved Puerto Rico the most beautiful place I have ever been. My dad was in the navy for 21yrs....

@@spvideo68 awesome thank you 😊 I remember back in the 1976 we had a bicentennial party at the beach ⛱ I was 10yrs old it was so awesome 👌 and coming home from school me and my brother would pick limes of the trees 🌳 and eat them on the way home. My favorites were the little crabs 🦀 and lizards 🦎 .house #20 on Yorktown circle is where we lived for 3 half years. I remember the blue angels came to the area.and watching 👀 them fly by in our backyard 💙💙💙

Im wondering when the Navy left where or who received the keys for all those buildings, someone should have those keys.

More than likely people just broke in. A lot of the houses look stripped of wiring of other metals. I remember living there in the late 80s and early 90s and when Desert Storm took place. A lot of people left to go overseas. It was such a manicured and beautiful place. It hurts me to see it like this.

Not sure who received any keys.
