  • With Hotone's Tone Catch feature in the new Ampero II multi effect board, you can capture the sound of any pedal, preamp, or amplifier and save it in memory to be used later. You can mimic or recreate any amp tone with this unit! And the whole thing only costs $599!? Add that to their already awesome mix of amp sims, IRs, stereo effects, looper, tuner, audio interface, PC editing... and more... this unit allows everyone access to rigs and sounds that used to be only accessible to the richest and most well connected musicians and producers. Effects for everyone!

    There is ONE feature in this unit that not too many people comment about ... and it's the ACOUSTIC GUITAR SIMULATION which is pretty amazing.
    No need to bring a whole bunch of guitars anymore to a small gig, you get your acoustic tones covered too if you need them, and right under your foot.

Then HeadRush come bursting on market with the Revamped MX5 now the Flex Prime with a wireless editor. I couldnt order it fast enough!!! Because I had an MX5 and I loved that unit but couldnt deal with combersome interface. But now with the wireless live editor that thing is incredible.
    I hope you can get your hands on a Flex Prime and cant wait to see the comparison videos of it against the Ampero. I still love what Ampero is doing I think they have a great unit as well. I think these other top tier guys might be a little worried because these less expensive units are just as capable. Notice I didnt call them cheap because they are not. Just less expensive made with the same components, software is software. Dont be fools buying this stuff in 2024 / 25

    Another much cheaper pedal worth looking into with it's own tone capture function is the M-Vave Tank G. It's uses AI learning so it requires a PC to generate the capture files but it does it by finding the difference between a pre recorded audio file and the end result after going through the pedal or amp similar to an IR file. The software is a little barebones so it's really easy to trick it into turning anything that can play audio into a pedal or amp like a VST on your computer or a children's toy.

    The reproduction of the tone IS more detailed than the original. The combination of the bit rate and sample frequency cause distortion in the harmonics relationship to each other. It gives an artificial alignment that mimics the sound of a wave coming straight at you, rather than a less defined wave thats bounced off things and been reinforced and cancelled in a more complex manner.

    Nice. 1- You actually don't have to play on the tone catch step as the Ampero plays it's own sounds. 2 - You can repeat finetune step several times until you're happy with the result. Have fun with capturing! :D Edit: you can save up to 20 tone catch profiles in the device. I don't know how it compares with the competitors. Answerig your question: I captured my tube amp (IRT60H). Not published these profiles on the community section of Hotone web page yet, but I will do it for sure, just give me a moment to play with these, maybe I could do something better. The last, maybe most important notice is: Ampero II comes with firmware 1.0.6 or so, which HAS NO TONE CATCH FEATURE! Don't throw it through the window or send it back to the store, just download the latest firmware and do an upgrade. No one is talking about this!

      Sonic capture technology is based on leverage of neural networks algorithms and architectures (such as wavenet).
      The main reason neural network algorithms like WaveNet can capture the sonic fingerprints of overdrive and fuzz pedals versus reverbs and delays lies in the nature of these effects:
      Overdrive and Fuzz Pedals --》 These effects are nonlinear and time invariant. They apply a consistent transformation to the input signal, which makes it easier for neural networks to learn and replicate their characteristics. The transformations are relatively straightforward and can be captured with a finite set of parameters.
      Reverbs and Delays --》These effects are time-variant and dynamic. Reverbs create complex, evolving echoes that depend on the input signal and the environment being simulated. Delays involve repeating the input signal after a certain period, often with variations in timing and feedback. Capturing these effects requires modeling the temporal dynamics and variations, which is more challenging for neural networks.
      In essence, the static and consistent nature of overdrive and fuzz pedals makes them more amenable to being captured by neural networks, while the dynamic and time-dependent nature of reverbs and delays presents a greater challenge.

Does the integrity of the copy retain the same level of quality of the original capture if you turn the fuzz up and down? The tone? It catches the current station of the pedal. If you want to change the settings of your pedal, you need to capture the pedal again (in another slot or rewrite the previous one). There's no copyright on the sound.

    I almost went with hotone myself. They sound like amazing systems. My only problem with their brand is I can't figure out how to say their name. Hoe tone? Hot tone? Hot one? 😂

    Someone who pays 600$ for a pedal is rich enough to have a tone of an expensive amp on a drive to connect , play and show off for us poor people .😔

    Playing a pedal into this unit is one simple thing...
    I would like to see you sample my 1974 Marshall Bluesbreaker amp into it.
    Microphone setup etc.
    Or if a friend had not just a great pedal collection but a great AMPLIFIER collection.
    Go a step further...

    In all fairness, if I'm going to spend nearly $600 on an amp capture unit, I'd rather get a Nano Cortex, or a DimeHead NAM Player unit.

    • @ArtsLover-m7r
      @ArtsLover-m7r 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is a null test on LeoGibson channel, Ampero profile better than Nano Cortex, and have more effects than nano

    • @needsLITHIUM
      @needsLITHIUM 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ArtsLover-m7r yes but Cortex has a better community and more overall support. I mean, if I wanted something with a better community that does captures I could go for a Tank-G lol. Also, DimeHead NAM player is the same price and plays Neural Amp Modeler profiles, which has the best nulltest and best community. TBF, I'm really biased towards NAM, because I know Steve Atkinson IRL and I have to support my buddy in my local music scene.

      @@ArtsLover-m7r Don't get me wrong, this thing sounds phenomenal, and I'm already a fan of the Hotone/Sonicake/Valeton brand in general. I'm just telling my preference. Null test isn't everything, I want a device that is easy to use to the point I don't have to think, backed by a community where users can upload, and share their patches for free, or sell them, with a lot of users and an actual community, with the software devs and hardware engineers active in that community. The NAM Player checks both those boxes AND wins the null test wars.

    I suggest you try the tank g from m vave which can also replicate pedals and amps through software and it costs 1/10th of the price of the hotone ampero.

    Sounds nothing like the pedal through a tube amp… maybe because I’m on headphones, but yeh, not even close to pedal and amp

      Plus, the new Flex Prime is $100 less than this and has the new Revalver software that can do Super Clone captures that are way more dynamic than these snapshot clones.

    $600 at Amazon? Pretty pricey. Give it time. There will be a knockoff from China in less than a year and a half. It would be nice to capture Andy James' pedal "Revenant".
