- They truly are fucking amazing and pardon my language but nothing else comes to mind when I see them! This was, once again, a true masterpiece of a concept! I’m not quite sure about the songs to be frank with you but at this point in time, I don’t even truly care about how I feel about the songs because the concept, MV, lyrics and message made me feel so powerful! There was a sense of validation that was almost cathartic to some degree! They were so on the nose with these two MV and that’s amazing how they managed to tackle such a powerful and important subject like self worth, self confidence, today’s societal standards, beauty standards etc. I think they’re the best spokesperson right now and the ambassador of powerful women in this industry who aren’t afraid to push back boundaries and speak up against all the bullshit in this world and omg is this refreshing and healing too! Like they did with Nude, they’re setting a precedent and they keep on impressing me! Queen behaviour for sure!

I really think allergy and queencard were inspired by Soyeons experience in produce 101 and what happened afterwards and during their debut how people were talking about her looks

What I like about her, is her not getting 'skinnier' everytime their comebacks, she's feel so healthy just like Soojin body figures
the idle girlies said that shuhua is actually a good idol material since theyre a still a trainee but theres a time where she lose her confidence and keep questioning herself because of the insecurity. soyeon is the one who made her gain some confidence back, back then. im happy she keep working hard to reach this point, she just keep proving how good she is.

When you thought nxde and tomboy's message can't be topped but then Allergy×QueenCard showed up. It feels to real to all people of various gender and experience
14:19 that part had me confused too tbh but if you think about it Yuqi and Shuhua are working in a shop and are trying to sell lingerie and cloths using popular people who many teens lately have been looking up especially on social media. They’re basically saying “if you buy and wear thus you will look sexy like Kim k or cute like Ariana and be a Queen too” . For me it works well with the mv and overall meaning of the song because you can see yuqi and shuhua rolling their eyes and laughing at what they’re saying to people afterwards…even they don’t agree at the end
I think Allergy MV also signifies the messed up reality of social media and how it potrays lives as perfect when everyone is really j struggling in real life.
Like Shuhua and yuqi work in a store but they borrow branded things from miyeon to post and pose on insta. so when they are at a party, they secretly look at those better off than them and feel jealous
Soyeon looks at yuqi w branded things in pics and envies her. she looks at Miyeon's posts and thinks if she was as pretty as her maybe she'd get to have fun and have friends too (the girls night out ref)
Miyeon is extremely pretty and rich and has good friends but craves her boyfriend's attention. She feels she's not enough and that's why her bf left her for minnie who's prettier and more confident and hence she tries to copy everything Minnie does (the exercise part after watching her on tv ref)
And minnie on the other hand has a bf, has social media reputation, is an influencer and is extremely confident (or acts like it) but feels an empty void inside (her looking at the friend grp at the start of the vid) or (her starin of into the crowd of party people at the end of the vid as if she's lonely and is alone j after the shot with her bf)
Everyone is messed up in some way but acts like they aren't. it's kind of like even those whom you envy are jealous of someone else
I think when Minnie mentioned that she was losing followers & have haters in Tiktok, she had decided to steal Miyeon's bf to be on the spotlight again. But yeah, it's very sad

I just want to share my thoughts about allergy and queencard. So the mv for queencard is more like a dream of soyeon where she took the surgery and her face becomes Minnie's face but the club/party scene of Minnie on the chorus is actually a real experience of soyeon on the night before she took the surgery thats why you can see the reflection change from minnie to soyeon on the mirror. And then when she woke up she decided not to take the surgery and then you can see at the end of the mv that is in the allergy mv, soyeon walking and then shuhua and yuqi saw her then wave at her because they recognize soyeon because they are there at the club but soyeon somehow cant remember? them.

I think it's her realizing that being hot is about being confident and comfortable in your own skin, she realized that she could do all the queen shit without having a different face, it's about the attitude and embracing yourself

This is the reason I became a Neverland, this is a best girl group that I ever listen from KPOP. Their Concepts and comebacks is different every time, They are unique, the girls are amazing.
In Queencard Soyeon represents the insecurity that is inside all of us, that's why she changes position with the other girls during the MV, specially when they look in the mirror. That's genius!

This era is one of those idle eras where we just don’t care about the songs, we only care about the message they’re sending across. Yes, the lyrics might be corny, cringy and even dumb but how did YOU feel at the end of the MV? I also teared up like you did bc it just hits. This concept describes Soyeon’s personal story in detail (I’m pretty sure that’s why she called the concept ‘I Feel’) and idk I feel sad just thinking about her having all of these thoughts about herself at one point in her life…and it’s even more sad bc other people have said insulting things to her in person, since she was a trainee. I believe lifting the listeners up is one of Soyeon’s ways of coping with it all. I just want to give her a big hug 😢
If it makes you feel better about the lyrics, their concept was less 2000s as it was a satire of teenage movies of that time. I mean lyrics like 'im twerking on the runway" simply are not meant to be anything other than silly.
Also I read that kwingka (pronounced similar to Queencard) was Korean slang during that time meaning "pretty girl/ attractive woman" :)

Allergy is my favorite in the Album because of the totally relatable lyrics 🥺 I always get teary-eyed every time I read the lyrics while listening to the song. After Allergy, there's Queencard that is just a silly song but still sends a message that makes you feel good about yourself (in this MV, the girls just feel pretty and confident and they just wanna show it off) The lyrics were written funny on purpose as per Soyeon because their past 2 comebacks have been full of morals so she wants to change it up a bit this time. She's actually a genius for doing that. It avoids repetitiveness in their discography.
Anyways, I knew I could rely on at least one of my fav K-reaction channels to watch Allergy and Queencard in one sitting. From the relatibility of Allergy to the emotional rollercoaster that is Queencard, this comeback was phenomenal.
Soyeon have endless ideas with their songs. And the message of their songs always touch our hearts. This is why i love g idle.
If there is a KPOP song that I might mistake as official Netflix OST, it would be THIS song!

did you watch yourself after filming these two videos? cos, idk if you noticed but when you watched Allergy, i can see that you felt kinda emotional in a way that it triggered something in you. On the other hand, when you react to Queencard, girl you glowed up girl you smiled, queen you partied and you were happy. Did you see that smile you put up all throughout the mv? I also like the message that... if you want to care for your body (sports, health) and pretty yourself up (clothes, makeup), you're doing it not for someone else, but for yourself. It's often assumed that if you "try" to make yourself prettier or even change your usual clothing style, haircut, it's in order to "please somebody". When, in truth, you're just getting joy from trying out things you like, you have a good mood or your want to lift your mood, so you wear something special today. But no, people assume you're trying hard to get attention, some even may say you're trying to seduce someone??? Like, WHAT. These are real words from real people who would tell you that in the face. Yeah, Allergy hit way too close to home for me too and it's still smth that I'm working on rn. I feel like if you're not in a good place mentally (whether is due anxiety, depression, etc.) it's nearly impossible to not be affected by what you consume on social media, even if we're all aware that a lot of it isn't entirely real. Also, knowing how Soyeon has been a target of shitty comments about her looks all her career and how even Shuhua was body shamed during DDDD era, we know this cb feels very personal and authentic to them. As my ult group, I'm constantly so proud of I-DLE!! And how cute is it that they made a song for Neverlands called "Peter Pan"??? 😭😭
Peter Pan is actually Young Adult (Korean name). It's about them being adults but still be childish. It's also very relatable and the lyrics made me cry a bit.

Soyeon said she has inspriration from 'I Feel Pretty' is a 2018 American comedy movie
I think she decided to write this song by using her exprerience because of the case in the Teenage girls survival show which she was one of the mentors. There was a pair of young girls who were talented but they did not receive vote from the audience to qualify to the round for the mentors to judge which poked a wound in her heart at that time and she know it will happen again and again for children that try so much to their dream.
