I found it Disrespectful how you guys were criticizing their pronunciation. First of all they weren’t even saying sexy in English, it was how they say it in Korean….Secondly they don’t even need to pronounce it the right way to fit the American standards because this is K-POP not American pop.

I wished you would have notice that Yuqi and Minnie were singing it in KOREAN that's why it sounded as sex instead of sexy (KOR=seksh) they weren't singing it in English. Sexy in Korean is sekshiiii. You often forgot that they weren't singing in full english. They sometimes do Konglish, please remember that before you say that it throws u off :>

It took me days, but I finally figured it out. Soyeons dilema: How do I make a fun, silly, and dumb song that is totally off brand for (G)I-dle? Answer: Set the song in campy Y2k movie universe then say it was all a dream. Tons of pop culture references in both videos. Allergy sets us up with our Y2K movie universe theme using the common Y2K trope of ugly girl (actually pretty girl with glasses, mussed hair, and baggy clothes) wishes she was pretty and popular like the other girls. She tries and fails a couple times but eventually she takes off her glasses and fixes her hair and gets cool clothes and becomes a popular/pretty girl. Then she learns that being pretty and popular isn't so great after all, so she goes back to being a normal girl but now, after seeing that the grass isn't necessarily greener on the other side, she is happy just being herself. The end. In "Allergy" the answer is plastic surgery instead of removing glass, ect... At the end of "Allergy" we see Soyeon about to go under anesthesia for her procedures that will make her pretty and popular.
In "Queencard", we pick up at the point where the doctors are applying the anesthesia. Now we're in a drug induced dream world where Soyeon is living the life of a popular/pretty girl. The lyric "I'm a quinka" repeats over and over. ("Quinka" or Queenca" is Korean slang from Y2K meaning "popular girl" or "it girl") In her dream, Soyeon is a "Queenca". Her English lyrics that were actually pretty good in "Allergy" are now all drunken and comically bad (I mean, they are purposefully bad). The scenes are chaotic and wild, they rewind, backgrounds are blurry, they intermix the doctors who are standing around her as doing dance moves, the group members faces change into other members. We see more tropey Y2K movie scenes. Girl looks hot with wet hair as she emerges from the swimming pool. Dance battle at the club. All campy movie tropes. Finally, in the ending chorus of the song, the group is dancing in the hospital (reality is getting closer to her as she regains consciousness). The lyrics "Wearing whatever girl - Queencard", "Thick or thin girl - Queencard", "Full of confidence girl - Queencard". We see Miyeon leaning over her as she wakes up telling her (paraphrasing) "this is what it means to be a Queencard". Soyeon pops awake before the plastic surgery and leaves the hospital. She is now confident that she is a "Queenca" and we can see it in the way she walks, holds her shoulders back, and the expression on her face. (great acting by the way to go from frumpy and unconfident to beautiful and confident without changing anything about her make-up or clothes). This was the common Y2K movie trope of "it was all just a dream". but then we get another trope from those times when Soyeon starts getting likes and follows on an insta photo that seems to be from the dream. it's the "it was all just a dream - or was it?!?!" trope that was pretty common in Y2K movies also. So, Soyeon got to have her fun, silly, dumb bop without it changing the groups brand... or did it?!?!? Pure genius.

Just for future reference, it's not cute to judge how a foreigner pronounces English words, whether they can speak the language or not. Remember, this is KPOP.
    - Whether or not Soyeon intended the pronunciation to be what it is. It still is not cool. What would you do if you saw a foreigner being called annoying or put down for how they pronounced something?

She's totally right for judging because if you are going to write English lyrics you might as well put a minimum effort into pronouncing the words correctly, Soyeon literally CROPS syllables that's how bad it is. And the worst part is people like you not minding it because you make her think she's doing a great job and she's gonna keep doing it and ruining her songs to so many English speakers.

In Korean 'sexy' is an English borrowing with assimilated pronunciation so it's a phonologically changed word, meaning they pronounce it in a way that is easier for Korean speakers.
Assimilation of borrowed words is a thing not only for Korean but also other languages (yes, English too). And I assure you the way English speakers pronounce borrowings is also different from their source language. I felt the need to clarify this as a linguistics student.
Also, I want to add that making fun of someone's accent isn't cool (this point doesn't necessarily apply to the reactors but more to some comments I saw here) and is one of the reasons people are scared to speak in other languages even if they are perfectly capable of it. Scared of making mistakes, whether in grammar or pronunciation and being made fun of because of it.

context for Soyeon lyrics and pronunciation, she has said multiple time before that she makes and produce her songs for Korean. Lyrics and pronunciation that's easy for korean to understand and sings along to. They constantly chart high in Korea so I guess she knows what she's doing. I used to be cringe at English part in Korean and Japanese songs, but I finally embraced it now. Almost each Asian countries has their own unique way to pronounce English words.

Hmmmm... finally a (G)I-dle song that you liked a little bit. The concept though... A bitter pill about the realities of social media ideals that is sugar coated as a Disney Y2K bop to help the medicine go down. Minnie is the "influencer" who is unhappy about losing followers (mis-translated as "slacking followers"), Miyeon is the queen bee of her group (with Yuqi and Shuhua) who is unhappy because she can't live up to the Minnie standard. Yuqi and Shuhua are Miyeons supportive little drones who work at the "I feel" shop and wait on Soyeon who just feels ugly because she doesn't fit in with any of the aforementioned groups. At the party (with the cool panning still frames) we see that everyone there is basically dressed the same and looking elsewhere for cool-cues while also being dissatisfied with themselves.

This was one of the most disrespectful reactions i have seen for Queencard.
It is okay to have your own opinions about music, but saying their pronunciation is annoying for you is very wrong.
Also, the lyrics are not fully in English!! the words that you point out for the pronounciation is in KONGLISH.
And, you are listening to K-POP. They dont owe you to sing in standard English. Mind you, two of the members are really fluent in English. Minnie used to spent her vacations in London. So if they are using a certain pronunciation that's different from yours, you need to understand that its intentional !!
You can find it annoying or not, but saying it openly on a public platform is nothing less than mocking them.
