Ikr Marvin. If you are working your devops inside of AWS cloud then you might want to understand what each AWS service( ELB,EC3,R53.....) is and how to configure them. Yesterday I had a Devops interview and I was asked what is Elastic IP , How do you configure ELB, Explain what VPC is . But, yeah sometimes I get annoyed. this is a cloud engineer's job.
