Don’t be worried every one gets nervous even I did. Just go on some 2km runs get your time down to about 10.30 incorporate some sit-ups and press-ups and then enjoy it, the army’s all functional training now but most women fail on running fitness. Go on a few walks with 10kg in your rucksack just to get a feel for weight. The army is progressive as long as you try and don’t stop there happy. For certain trades need certain run times and cog test scores other than that you have nothing to worry about. My idea was each day it’s an hour phyz and then it’s over the worse bit is worrying about the unknown, yes sometimes your be hanging out it will be hard but as long as you don’t quit and you have that basic bench mark of fitness it’s really quiet easy and enjoyable. Good luck go smash it
@@Warrior_Genetics honestly really appreciate this advice! I've lost 15lbs in the last 8 weeks and have improved my running from not being able to run to the end of the street to completing my first 3k in about 2 weeks too. I need to speed it up but I'll 1000% take what you've advised and run with it (pun intended 😉) Thank You ❤
Kate Betton well done for loosing the weight that’s the main thing that’s going to help you progress quick, I hated running I still do I’m built for sprints and weight training but as soon as you get to regiment it will all change you can concentrate on any type of fitness you like weights, cross fit ect but the staple is always that 2k run never let the time drop so all I do now is 1 a week make sure I can still run then I do my own stuff. basic is only 14 weeks it flys by, sometimes it’s long days, your sick of ironing sorting out kit being told what to do but just play the game that’s all it is, soon as you pass out and finish your phase 2 and you go to unit it’s the complete opposite totally relaxed job depending obviously. don’t be tempted by the sweet shop and pizza place on camp either lol. Good luck
I really loved this! I was due to go to assessment on the 24th 25th April but it was postponed for obvious reasons. But watching this has made me even more excited! Thank you for putting this video up xx
Great video very insightful! I posted a video on my experience as well similar time ironically aha, interesting how much experiences differences depending when you go! Best of luck with your journey in the army :)
All what you saying it’s absolutely true Natasha! Had mine at Lichfield in March 2020, and it was great 👍! Left with one medical test and 2KM run. Waiting for a date... Great work. PS: Medical Staffs and Soldiers were very friendly and helpful 😊
Esther Addawoo you can dm me on IG - @nana_akwasi_official . AC just got opened and I think ur CSA might contact you soon. Are you already here in the UK? Kindly dm me
Waiting for my assessment centre date, running a 2km time of 10:35, want it to hurry up but at the same time I'm embracing having the extra time to prepare myself
Recruit Natasha Edge do you know what sort of scores needed for the bleep tests? I know It’s gonna be different for certain roles but do you have a rough idea?
Im in for infantry in a couple of weeks and i got to get 8.6 for that so depending on what you are going for it will be lower than that as the next one up is paras for 11.6 i think it was
Hey great video thanks, just want to find out i am a commonwealth member looking to join the army in the next 2 years. But i have some hearing loss in my one ear, just want to find out how important the hearing test is for both ears if you have any information on it, it would be great.
I would recommend getting an earlier train. They will tell you what one to get but just get an earlier one. Trains are so unpredictable! You should take 2 forms of ID, proof of GCSE’s or any courses taken, proof of address, NI etc. Just most things you would take to an interview. You will get a list. Don’t worry!
You get to write down 3 roles, ranked from the one you want most to least. I chose RMP, Dog Handler and CMT. You will need to take a couple forms of ID be that a birth certificate or a passport or a drivers license, proof of address and NI, any proof of qualifications. But don’t quote me on that! You will get a list a week before :)
Just a heads up military police is hard work like most roles your gonna need to be switched on prepared for the unexpected also youll be dealing with drunk squaddies alot, dog handler have a 2 year waiting list minimum as everyone wants to do it so whatever your choice you can change it before you go to training just dont leave it too long and combat medic is a great job to do youll do some casualty Evacuations in phase 1 so youll find out how much graft it can be also remember you could be dealing with possible amputation of legs etc . Overall army training is hard work well done for passing assessment centre just maken sure do upperbody work when possible you'll be doing lots of press ups in training and carrying alot of heavy kit so more prep the better. good luck for training I passed my selection in 2019 and the good days will always overdo the bad
That’s a good question!! I think they ask that before you do the test so they can rule out blood but it can sometimes be a deferral I believe! Speak to your recruiter and try and get a date that doesn’t link with your cycle x
civietosoldier thank you just shitting myself with the bleep test I can do the 2km no problem and I run 2 miles a day but I’m not used to the bleep test last time I did it I was in school 😂
civietosoldier unfortunately no I failed the cog by 3 points and the bleep test by 1 level I got to 10.4 the paras are full now so I’m going to the royal welsh instead then I’ll do my time in Harrogate serve with the royal welsh for 4 years and then get a transfer to the Paras where I’ll do P coy and jump training
Blow as hard as you can and it comes up with a level. If you don’t get enough you can use an electronic one instead. They will listen to your lungs with a stethoscope during your doctors examination
For my boyfriend it was 3 months but it really depends on the waiting list and how desperate they are for your chosen role. There are ways to get in quicker like opting for a priority role. I still haven’t started phase 1 as I have a couple other bits I need to do x
Rozzer Mma please can you help by telling me the exact date you will be going for your assessment 🙏🏿. I’m also waiting for final assessment (Some rest and 2KM run). Thanks 😊

Anyone going to Winchester in November for basic training?
My boyfriend has just left Winchester if you have any questions?
Plssss i would like to know after the AC, how many days or months does it takes for you to report to Training
It depends
For people who need glasses like yourself what roles are not available. And are we allowed to wear contact lens?
