Love the elevated section, reminds me of the Chicago Elevated. The Electroliner was a nice touch because it operated into Chicago on the Chicago Elevated.

This video has made my day!! My grandfather was a brakeman for the Illinois Central railroad in the 1940’s - 1960’s. My brother had a Lionel train set in 1958, which I, the older sister, helped him run. I adored that train but they were marketed for boys!! Unfair!! Stereotypes were rampant back then.
I love how you pass multiple sidings and see so many multiple cars of the same type coupled together, so real. So much to see as you travel around, couldn't believe all that you see from one side to the other. Fantastic layout and workmanship. Felt like i was well inside of a big city, the feeling is real. Absolutely AMAZING.... Until recently with the advent of inexpensive mini cameras....this is what every modeller used to do in their own head. Imagining what it would be like to drive one of their trains through their little world they created. I just sat here completely mesmerized at all the detail in this setup....How Awesome is THIS ?!
Just unbelieveable. Incredible how you altered the levels and loops. Eight minutes to complete? Fantastic!. I think I saw just about every train made in the last 100 years or so durring this video. Truly a work of mechanical art!

I've followed the development of your layout in photos for years on the OGR Forum and I have to say this video is even better than I expected it would be. Not only is your layout fantastic in the shear quantity of details you present but it reminds me of my approach to NYC during my annual train trips from Colorado home to Manhattan back in the 1980s and early 90's. I would sit in my roomette and watch the increasingly dense urban-scape roll by and this captures the final hours of that trip perfectly!

Wow, this is great. I really enjoyed the feeling of being in the engine cabin. My house is too small for my layout now. Hoping to move but this just made me want to just set up a board. Even my wife, who has no interest whatsoever in model railroading, was intrigued by your layout. I see it first time today. This is very impressive, Alan - from an engineering point of view, from an artistic and esthetic point of view and a great enjoyment to watch. I have been working with technology all my grown up life, in the aerospace, oil and gas and other areas - and I know when I see an ace, a winner, and that's what this is, an ace. An impressive undertaking!
As I watched this with slack jaw, I lost my reference to the human scale and was completely drawn in at O-gauge level. The only reminders were the occasional shot of a chair or the overhead lighting. I wasn't even that aware of the details that have yet to be filled in. Great job on this layout! You have much to be proud of here.
I just read that the overhead is alive... Cool, makes me think of riding the NY NH & Hartford from Westport, Conn. to NYC back in the '50s ... I used to have a New Haven electric by Lionel* WAY back when (:-b) *complete with magna-traction!

Just look at all the operating equipment. A United Aircraft Turbo Train !! Milwaukee Road E-F4 Box cab electrics !! A Monorail system that looks like a Disneyland Monorail. Nice collection Alan. I watch these videos on a 55 inch flatscreen TV, and it might as well be life size as I view it. If you can't ride it for real, it's the next best thing to being there. Thanks for the Tour.
I really like this layout. You did an awesome job with it. My favorite part is probably what I guess you could call the "High Speed Line" with the Acela (so jealous). It just... fits.
Hello Alan. I've been watching so many layouts this year alone for my first time on You Tube channels, every layout in many scales are so strongly artistic, yours is another winner . This is an example of what I want to accomplish in 3 scales HO, N, & O SCALE! First your trains underpass for, years I did 2 versions in the 1980's double decker layouts! This section reminds me of New York City Transit Coney Island Q Train (above) F Train below, East New York on the J, L & Z trains, Westchester Avenue Pelham Bay Local (6 Train) in the Bronx. Metro North Hudson line the mountain tunnels, The Northeast Corridor! 😄 Acela I can't miss it on your video. Newark PENN STATION.All your scenery all over this amazing layout I'm excited in a positive way bringing me joy not only this holiday season but off season year round. Another award should go out on your railroad it's a dream and reality at its best! Every details works I wish they had the same parts like these in HO SCALE. N is a little more advanced much like that I'm viewing in many of the O scale products. Keep this going I'm so happy no doubt with this amazing grand works of model electric trains!👏👏👏👏👏⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍

Creative use of scenery inside tunnels with use as a car park. It gives something interesting to watch for whilst the train traverses from one area to anther.
This is a video of my inner mainline of the O gauge / scale layout. Still much to do as far as landscaping but thought you may enjoy taking a trip on the downtown line....

This section reminds me of New York City Transit Coney Island Q Train (above) F Train below, East New York on the J, L & Z trains, Westchester Avenue Pelham Bay Local (6 Train) in the Bronx. Metro North Hudson line the mountain tunnels, The Northeast Corridor! 😄 Acela I can't miss it on your video. Newark PENN STATION.All your scenery all over this amazing layout I'm excited in a positive way bringing me joy not only this holiday season but off season year round. Another award should go out on your railroad it's a dream and reality at its best! Every details works I wish they had the same parts like these in HO SCALE. N is a little more advanced much like that I'm viewing in many of the O scale products. Keep this going I'm so happy no doubt with this amazing grand works of model electric trains!👏👏👏👏👏⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍

Alan, I just happened to come across your video. All I can say is you have a spectacular layout and I thoroughly enjoyed the locomotive cab ride tour of it. I model the PRR in N scale...a small town home layout that I thoroughly enjoy. We model railroader's sure enjoy our hobby and seeing what you have done just reaffirms it.
