Unbelievable some of the fish he catches from this spot. Just right there around boats and people, alot of boat traffic, etc. And there are 400+lb grouper. Just crazy.

A pair of pliers would be handy for the hook! Keep some on you at all times (I use forceps myself but the fish I catch ain’t a tenth that big). Plus have you ever thought of investing in a harness for the rod, instead of using your ball sack and ass crack? Just a thought.
When you use a harness you are usually strapped down to a chair. If you are standing on the dock and the fish actually pulls you in the water, you are pretty certain to get drowned. Just sayin.
Amazing job...you wore me out just watching! I would never be able to land a fish anywhere near that big at my age. I'd have to hook up the winch on my truck, hook and bait it, then let the fun begin! ::grinning::
1:20 camera guy is a little slow on the uptake. 3:10 If he can pull the line why can't you just reel it in?# If these fish are protected I don't see the point of what you are doing. You fish from the same spot, after the same fish, and you cause them pain and stress for no reason. You cut the line and left a huge stainless steel hook in it's throat. Ok you proved the point there are big fish in this harbour but why keep doing it when they are protected.
Years ago a young guy was dredging out a spillway in Des Moines Iowa area with his Jeep and his vehicle started going backwards into the spillway and had to get a tow truck to pull it out and on the end of the dredge hook was a sludgepuppie. It's a fish that sits in the water and eats anything that goes by.
I'm more surprised at the fact that a second Goliath appeared at 11:40 being even bigger than the one being fished. The size of those fishes there is just massive.
These videos pain me to watch. Buy a stand up harness and save your balls, please! One little mistake with a fish like that and you’ll be a falsetto in no time
Kyung Kim805 - That's what I'm wondering, too. Stainless steel hooks should be phased out, especially in the larger sizes, because they do not rust out quickly enough to save the fish's life, like non stainless hooks, and big fish break off much more often than smaller ones. No large hooks should be stainless. An exception MIGHT be OK for lures, though it would be best to stop allowing the use of ANY stainless steel hooks.
I see you living it up big boats and fishing reels 😊😂🎣🐟🎣. I still have the old fishing reel because I don't have big money for the new one's 😂😊🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣. Zarail aka Z 🐟🎣
BassNazi, bollocks that is a stainless steel hook. and Yes he did cut the line and left the hook in the fish throat, and I understand that this is a protected species of fish. What's the point ?
first ape didn't know you actually had looked at the hook and held it. Totally stand corrected, go ahead and be mad, even if your right your not doing anything by talking about it. I fish saltwater all the time and the hooks we use are high carbon for strength, but it also makes them rust. Salt water is highly corrosive and you have the added effect of fish biology.
Have you ever thought about getting yourself a gimbal belt and a harness?? laying your rod on that railing definitely don't do it any good. Plus so you don't lose a finger get yourself a nice pair of Kevlar gloves when you grab that leader.
look mate iv just sub your channel and i like your videos but please take this advice on bored always take the hook out no mater what it shows respect to the fish and the viewers its not hard never cut the line again please
How would you do that? Stick your whole hand inside that monster? It was too deep inside the fish. Nice job O'Gorman. Your a hell of a fisherman. My biggest is only a 40 lb catfish.
Live in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. Anyone know spots not out at sea, in the area to try and fish for these bad boys? They gotta be creeping thru the gulf here somewhere
I didn't know they made 500 lb test mono. Damn, that's some beastly line. You'd need something ridiculous though. With those pilings and the fact that youre hooking 400-500 lb fish.
I think its hilarious that in each video I've watched every fish he catches he says its about 200 pounds heavier than what it is when he's fighting it!!

A local rod builder Steve Osment in Fort Lauderdale. I don’t know if he is still building.

Awesome! Wish I could’ve stayed longer to watch you catch that monster!!
What gear were you using?
why did you leave the hook inside?
Unbelievable some of the fish he catches from this spot. Just right there around boats and people, alot of boat traffic, etc. And there are 400+lb grouper. Just crazy.
Thats why they stopped us from fishing there. They banned it!
Where are you catching them
Are these fish GOOD to eat or just for SPORT? I know it would be a lot to process and eat. I was just wondering never fished ocean fish.
Tom Thomas You're not even allowed to take Goliath groupers outta the water but other species of grouper are very good to eat
I agree other grouper is tasty. Bet a goliath wouldnt be due to size/age.
Damn where is this at. I would love to catch some
Are those big grouper still there ?
Yes but they outlawed fishing at the ramp.

symie8 I mean he’s been doing it without a harness, And flip flops on a wet surface. It’s cool but kinda dangerous
that big fish bro..even in my country that big is so rare to catch..i think u should put a tag on fish that you caught..good luck from malaysia
What are in the states is this
Should tag the grouper to see roughly how many there are in the harbour(around your fishing spot).

Thanks for the support Toddy!
How much did that huge rod cost? Just the rod Alone. I'm sure the line itself was a couple hundred
Where is this at?
How deep is that water and how can so many RAMP MONSTERS live in this spot?!
Are you fishing in florida? If so where??

Studies show these large fish as well as large catfish suffer high mortality rates after release. Thems the facts.

Why cut the thread and leave the hook stuck in her mouth ???
same spot.same few fish.
Nice!
How many times is he going to keep ripping hook holes into the same group of fish's lips day after day?

Sometimes but it doesn't stay for long. Even in freshwater the fish biology will break it down to rust in no time.
