Most unreal fishing day of my entire life with Saltwater OG’s Ben Chancey and Josh from BlackTipH. Between watching a freakin bonito blow up on a frog and giant dinosaurs thrash around on the beach I was pretty overwhelmed with the first full day here in Southern Florida. Huge shoutout to Ben for taking us out on his rig and showing us the ways of the oceans.

stix0731 but jeremy wade's was caught in land... so even if it was smaller than this one, it's even more rare. That's the whole point in River monsters, to catch fish species in rivers.

you realize the hook compared to the body is an extreme difference in size. They followed the guidelines, they were gentle, and kept it in the water. This is these guys lives, they care for the animals, they catch and release, and they know how to treat the animals. Ian M

Even if it was legal to take this fish out of the water...I don't think it would be logistically possible. The boat didn't have a crane and I don't think 4 people could drag that monster onto the beach.
And I agree, they obviously treated this fish very well and did the right thing in that situation.

Its called a Sawfish. EXTREMELY rare seen creature. you guys are super lucky you got to even see it in its natural habitat. they are believed to be prehistoric fish. They might have even been around when dinosaurs were on Earth.

There are stories of giant animals. They called them dragons and serpents. Such people as Alexander the great wrote about them. Not the dragons we know but the dragons described by Alexander and others. They were very specific about the features.

I've watched several of your videos, but this was the best yet. I had to sub after watching. I've seen a sawfish when I was a kid in a marsh canal in Bradenton FL, but I have never hooked one. So glad that you did the right thing with this rare giant. Great content, and looked like tons of fun. Good job!

That sawfish will be just fine. People who fish dont know what they are going to hook onto before they reel it in. I was in a park with my fishing stuff and a canal /river was next to it. I had a little bait left so i decided to cast it in a couple times. I started reeling it in then I couldnt reel it in anymore and figured i was hooked on some rocks. Pulled it a little more and figured let it snap. Next thing a know I see a manatee so i cut the line right away. I felt soo bad. I didnt want to hook into it. The hooks rust away after a week or two and they never feel them. Same thing with that sawfish. You will do more damage trying to bring the fish in to get the hook out. Most people like these guys and me catch and release unless eating it. Stop giving these guys a hard time. They did the right thing.

I just have a question, so for that big fish at the end cant that hook stay in the fish and cause it pain for the rest of its life? Im not one of those like anti fishing people i'm just wondering because it seems a little messed up but i could be wrong
it degrades away because of the salt and the water...even if it was a more durable it wouldn't really hurt because it would heal fast
