Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup th-cam.com/users/postUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.
@@shubhammeena1346 Well, I can’t say it was completely justified or really even get into the logistics of the whole thing due to my lack of experience and general knowledge on fishing. That being said, they shot it for their safety because if they bring it on board, a fish that massive could cause serious injury as it flops around within the enclosed space of the boat. Like, it could even break someone’s leg. So the logic here was simply that it’s better to kill it instantly rather than prolong its suffering and risk it injuring someone. But again, this is coming from someone who doesn’t know too much about fishing so...

as a fisherman, shooting it was 100 percent the right thing to do, imagine that fish jumpin around in the boat, would’ve broken some bones, part of the boat, knocked in the rods, along with plenty of gear, that is a ton of money, down the drain, and the fish would’ve probably escaped anyways, all that gear lost, just for the fish to escape, that’s about 100 pounds of fish, gone, just like that.

Enjoy your outdoors videos, had a stroke a few years ago that has affected my mobility, lose of balance. Before that I was very active in outdoors activities. Fishing, hunting, hiking and nature photography. So I really enjoy your type of videos. Was waiting to see if you caught anything big on your spinning rig. When I was 14, oh so many years ago in 1965, my twin brother, Dad, one of his State Trooper friends and I went deep sea fishing off of Winchester Bay in Oregon. I had taken my Mitchell-Garcia 300 reel with 15 pound line on a 7.5 foot Roddy rod with me. Dad had just landed a 25 lb Chinook, so I put an 80 pound steel leader on with a double Eagle Claw 0/1 hook set, baited with a fresh herring filet. As Dad and Tom were washing down the deck, I let my rig sink to the bottom, about 75 feet down. While my brother fed the fish on the other side. They would haul in a couple buckets of water in, wash the deck down, then pull the plug and make a short sprint to suck the water out. So, my bait would settle to the bottom, then suddenly take off, then flutter to the bottom again. On the 4th sprint, my line started to move in a circle, Tom told me to let the fish play with it a bit before setting the hook. When he told me to set it, I gave it a good jerk and my line started to move away from the boat, I retrieved the line without much of a fight. About 10 minutes later the leader hit the end of the pole, I grabbed the net, leaned over the edge to net my not so big bottom fish. Tom looked over the side at the same time. When I looked down, I could not believe what I was looking at. A mouth full of very sharp teeth. Tom yelled out "Shark!!" About then the fish gave a mighty flip, and headed to the bottom. I spent the next 45 minutes wrestling with the beast, before we finally landed it. Even after we had it on board, Tom stabbed it through the brain area, and then cut it to bleed it, it still tried to bite anything that got near it, it almost snapped its jaws closed on my brothers foot, as he fought his third salmon, of the trip. When we got it back to shore, we measured and weighed our catch, I had three silvers ranging from 24 to 35 inches and up to 30 lbs each. The Blue shark was 94.75 pounds and 6 foot 4 inches in length. It was the fourth largest blue taken that year by a sports fisherman on a private boat and the largest taken on light tackle. I still fish with both rod and reel, when I can get someone to take me down to the fishing pond, that the state stocks with rainbow trout, however, my rod is now 6 inches shorter, broke the tip off when it was accidentally closed in the car door about three years after I caught the shark. Before anyone cries about not turning the shark loose, both Tom, the boat owner, and Dad lost friends when the USS Indianapolis (CA-35) was torpedoed and sunk during WW II (1945, 07.30), neither of them had much love for sharks after that. I was not as aware then, as I am today of the role they play in their environment.

That fish is all muscle, if you brought a 100lb halibut into a boat it could break your leg or knock all 3 of them into the water possibly
That fish picked the wrong house, fool.
Last time I checked fish were here before man and they belong in the water and men belong on land. Period
John Palermo yeah, that’s cool and all, but have you heard about we have been microscopic cells too ?

Lame attitude dude. Shooting a fish is so messed up when you can release it and catch another to eat. Huge fish never taste the best
Improve your landing techniques if you want to kill large fish
Bigger fish been caught daily without the use of a gun

It's best to attach the fishing line with the lure right to the barrel. I'd also recommend a reel attachment.
Most of the fish in Alaska get much larger due to the large amounts of alge, bait fish, and oxygenated water levels around the ice. Or at least thats what my charter guide said
I’m not sure water levels are a huge part but the algae and bait fish are definitely possible
