When you go home for home time, repairs, etc. You don't get paid, actually you will be in the hole. If you stay home one week you will owe KLLM $1,000.00 fixed expenses. The key is to save money so when you don't want to run hard you've made enough to cover you going in the hole. You can work hard and also enjoy yourself. It's all about managing your money. Anything can happen and you must be prepared for the unexpected.
Love that you shared the number to show the real of what you can expect. I drove over the road doing flatbed, reefer, and dry van for 4 years. I tried a lease purchase out of Phoenix but it wasn't a good fit for me. I'm married now and my husband and I are actually playing around with possibly hitting the road as a team. I love being able to show him in black and white, how things "can" be. I love your Lonestar! stay Blessed and Safe! Thank you for posting.
Thank u for clearing things up for me. Been wanting to do lease purchase for years and have heard nothing but horror stories. I've got 20 years experience driving and u have made it look simple not just for u but for anyone else considered LP. I've got my application in already. THANK YOU
13:58 - I would only accept half of what the truck brings in. (nothing less/nothing more). If the truck brings in 4800.00 (after taxes,etc..) I want 2400.00.
I suggest calling landstar, any of them, especially if you can get your own truck. serious people making grown folks money. I never worked for them but their drivers always seem happy. kllm swift werner and companies like them make more money on the driver than they make on the load! if you can get a slot with landstar you'll be starting at the top and chances are you won't have to go from company to company like a lot of drivers do. get a used truck around 30 to 50,000 RUN STEADY, not like hell,STEADY, in a year you can go out and buy a large car (custom truck) if you want, but you probably won't because by then you'll know it's just cutting into you bank acct for a couple of ooooo weeee's on the c.b. last thing is this, IF YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT KIND OF COMPANY YOUR DEALING WITH ASK THIS QUESTION, ,,,,, WHAT'S YOUR COMPANIES RETENTION RATE? IF THEY HIRED 10 DRIVERS THIS WEEK OR MONTH , HAUL ASS OUT OF THERE!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK DRIVER
wow, that's ruff ,on my last contract probably 2008 I made 1750 a week and usually drove less than 50 miles a week no joke home every night, no touch loads, I was running electronics 2012 $1.00 all miles l& mt + stop pay and accessories less than 2000 miles a week and brought home close to 2500 a week! your running your ass off for 1700 and they got the nerve to charge top dollar for a company truck. we all gotta start somewhere, I started with crst but I learn quickly! got my own truck, got on down the road! I will give you a tip , get specialized haz-mat, heavy, over sized, more money more respect good luck!
easy answer to that is anything you pay for that you wouldnt if you were at home every day. plus cell phone and internet. dont bother keeping track of food purchases. they fall inder your perdiem deductions.
Hey, I was wondering do kllm let u choose percentage or pay per mile. If not how do you get percentage as I see SE Regional drivers do. I stay in Mississippi
Hello how are you? I've watched all Videos and I liked so I have a question about the new driver how much pay him company? In general how much is a weekly Pay and when you go home or holidays Is _ your chose or the company? Provided a lot of videos and thank you for this wonderful effort.. wonderful personal
that was a 3483 mile week using your math. which if your on elogs is about that max you could expect. also it looks like your averaging 3656 dollars per week gross. give or take. thats a good check to be sure but you had to work pretty dang hard to bring it in. i dont know how they pay there but for me its to much work for not enough money. dont mean to sound like a typical this companies better guy but with a 3 month snapshot like that. i can tell you where you can make more per week. if your interested.
I work with landstar. Its an excelent company. But you have to be able to dispatch yourself. It takes practice. I wont bother saying what i make here becuase most wont believe it anyway and many will call me a liar. But i will say its far more profitable than the above example.
They make banging money , 3500 to 5000 a week easy trainer is where the money is but u need lotta patience with those rookies in your truck and strangers who may kill u any second lol that's y no one wants to train
mouad bekka you are so right,I was a trainer for CRST for 4 years and yes its very stressful. I did make good money at times but I couldn't sleep good at night, always watching the rookies. I might go back to training but right now I need a break from it for awhile...
