If Yuzu used proprietary code, then they're boned. If Yuzu is 100% original code, then Nintendo would have to redefine current case law. If Yuzu was closed-source then Nintendo could attempt to bankrupt-via-lawsuit the folks behind it. But it's not, so even if Yuzu does get shut-down, someone else can just pick it up again. If Yuzu is connected to ROM sites then Nintendo can go after them in that regard, but it doesn't appear that they are. This is just Nintendo being salty (again) about emulation, and are trying to *terrorize the emulation community in advance of their next system.*
Its not them being salty when youre emulating(practically stealing lets be real) their games that YOU have to pay for and play EXCLUSIVELY on the switch its kind of like apple. Their ganes are fantastic its you people wanting to steal it.
'people electively chose to pirate something, were going after an emulator because we can even tho its completely unrelated to the act of piracy'😅' anyway, ryujinx is more accurate so we'll just all have to move there.
If Nintendo has its way, it's likely any changes Nintendo wants to institute would affect Ryujinx and ANY other emulator. Tbh no emulator is safe if Nintendo is allowed to win this one, no matter how stupid their reasoning is.
This is a cope, you clearly haven't read the document. Nintendo has been gathering hella info, crossing every t dotting every i, lurking in discords and compiling compelling info. The ninjas take their job seriously and they have a strong case.
@cristiany140 Calm Down Nintendo Warrior. Shigeru miyamoto isn't gonna knock on your door and give you a free SWITCH WITH GAMES just because you're defending their honor. LEAVE MY BILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION ALONE! that's exactly how you sound like. If Nintendo can Have Shitty ass practices, then why not me? It's literally fair game. No pun intended. 😂😂😂😂😂
@@cyraxthehedgehog I am not defending nintendo. I am just tired of hypocrite people that call a boycott and then, when regular workers are fired they are somewhat horrorified. If you want to pirate things or buy stolen cellphones is your problem, just dont pretend to be a morale warrior or something.
Dont forget nintendo is closely tied with the us government and created cease and desists in the first place, they will be trying to make new laws regulating and even banning emulation. And as soon as that happens i quit this hobby for good
Millions of people played tears of the kingdom with emulators. nintendo has every right to stop it. Emulators should have stayed with old games and not the latest. This isn't preservation. it's stealing
yes, and it is the day i sell everything except maybe my pc and steam deck (cause its a pc), cause everyone else will just inevitably do the exact same thing, so why bother at that point?
The seperation emulation and piracy community are one and the same. To try to separate them is intellectually dishonest. Nintendo's Virtual Console was not filled with pirated games. Best case scenario: Nintendo wins and piracy is treated like it is in Japan. I'm rooting for a total ninja victory here folks.
Sorry I was sick

My real theory is that this is some kind of attempt for Nintendo to create some sort of Emulation restriction and regulation.

this is actually quite scary
They cant. it will fail like the Sony emulator lawsuit

Boycott Nintendo. Don't buy shit from them no matter how good their games are until they abandon their stupid war on Emulation
I swear for every person that says this, another mediocre pokemon game breaks sales records.
as much as i hate nintendo as a company, there aint no way i aint playin their games.
If you are emulating you are not paying for their games. So stop trying to look moral or something. Get a job and pay for your games.

Is emulation dead if Nintendo attacks unofficial emulation? Especially if Sony gets involved, this could present major problems to game preservation.
I don't want to think about the ramifications of Nintendo winning.

If you make profit somekind , then it is considered piracy and yes, this time are right to sue them
This should be interesting.
Hope you feel better soon!
